Because an official announce too early would push players to stock credits for the incoming DLC, and I don't think that's what Bioware actually wants.

I just realized this. Due to the new weekend squad challenge, IF this pack comes out (which I hope it does) when its supposed to, you're basically gauranteed atleast one of the characters and/or one of the new weapons. Can't wait for this!!!

Its possible. Bioware has held back commendation packs and the like for later in the day so the pack comes out with it.I just noticed that the end date for the Operation is Sunday and not the usual Monday.

So.. Ultra rare or even n7 rare characters that totally overshadow existing classes? I love playable phantoms as much as the next guy, but this really sounds like an awful idea to me. Unlike weapons where rare weapon X could be on par with ultra rare I the classes will have full potential at first unlock. This will be utterly devastating to game variety and definitely damaging to the player base.
