No Spectres. They aren't common soldiers you can just send out on spec ops strike missions. There's fewer than a hundred of them in the galaxy.
Closest analogue to a Spectre outside of Mass Effect would be Director Nick Fury from the Avengers. My bet would be that the remaining Spectres are doing rather Shepard-esque things during the Reaper invasion- Commanding ships, rallying resistances, leading armies, etc.
They have more power than a Council race's Rear Admiral rank. Hell, they have unlimited power second only to the Council- They are literally above the law and can commandeer anything and everything.
Pasted from another thread I put that in. Seriously. Guys. You send special forces and elite operatives on strike missions with an exceedingly high fatality/casualty rate.
You do NOT risk sending some of the most powerful individuals in the GALAXY on N7 Special Ops. There's less than a hundred of them in the galaxy, and the galaxy needs their leadership to win the war.
I can see them being tied in to multiplayer, but not playing as one. I mean, how would they even be issued orders, anyways? I can't see an Alliance officer being brash enough to use that tone of voice (the MP announcer) with someone who so vastly outranks him he could literally make him disappear.
you do know that in SP your Spectre War Asset is on earth right? and it wouldn't break the game just like the N7 characters
