what fits the trilogy better if you save them or not???

I disagree. In ME3 you still have to answer to a council of Asari, Turian and Salarian councellors, though Udina is a councellor too. Which fits perfectly with saving the council.
If you let them die, then ME1 could have ended with an entirely human council, or a multi-species but human-led council. Neither of which really fit with what you find in ME3.

I feel saving them is better, with Udina as the human councilor.

If I remember correctly letting them die gives you more war assets in ME3. If you save them your alliance fleets will lose quite a lot war assets points and you will gain less points from Ascension etc that you get from saving them.

Although the reactions to your comments from Andersen and Udina's little power speech is pretty interesting if you let them die. That sort of fits his mindset in ME3 IMO.
