If their isn't a better reward then what is the point of fighting on a harder diffculty if the reward isn't better I mean just seems to waste a hour for less reward seems terrible

The challenge is the reward.

The hardest difficulty should cater to those who want the hardest challenge, not those that feel entitled enough to the most credits so as to drag the good players down.

Thats a big assumption what if players who already do well want to get a higher reward for fighting or doing even more hard work in platnium if they don't get more credits then that extra effort is pointless and meaningless and their are some good people who want to hard hard challange but have good rewards also

I guess that depends on what type of player you are.

Do you play Gold mostly because you like the challenge, or because you get more credits? If Platinum gave the same reward as Gold, it would weed out a lot of the bad players who obviously aren't ready, but are willing to play outside of ther comfort zones in the hopes of getting more credits.

In reality, all they do is drag the team down, and it's why Gold PUGs are a nightmare. I hope Bioware implemented something to keep that from happening to this new mode. especially if it's as brutal as they're leading us on to believe.

The thing is that if it's really hard and gives a ton more credits, people are going to feel like they need to play Platinum to maximize their credits(Like they already feel for Gold), and there will just be a ton of complaints about Platinum being too hard.

Iam playing gold for the credits and the challenge, i will master platinum for the credits before i enjoy its challenge

credits than an actual challenge, because you say playing Platinum would be pointless without
a credit incentive. A tougher challenge is not "pointless" to the player who enjoys the toughest challenge.

Well I'm sort of hoping Plat will have a large increase of enemies (obviously) and focus on this, while having a reasonable health/shield/damage output increase by said enemies, instead of a slight increase in enemies, but they're just incredibly buffed up and do extreme damage >_>

More enemies to kill = more fun for me. More potential chaos than annoyance for sure.

 Because I have a group of guys that are more than willing to accomplish that feat.

Fully agree. This is my biggest worry with the new difficulty.

They can have Platinum give 0 Credits until extraction. And at the end, you get 100% of the Credits for full extraction, 75% for 3/4, 50% for 1/2, 25% for 1/4, 0% for 0/4. And have Platinum Credits be higher than Gold, but Platinum would be so difficult that you needed a full team of very skilled players. At first, a lot of people who aren't ready for Platinum will flood the games and give it a try, and almost every if not every single game they're in, they will fail and go back to Gold (i.e. Platinum would be so difficult that no team can be good enough to carry a dead weight teammate).

How much harder than gold can platinum difficulty really be? On gold, almost everything already takes you to shield gate in half a second. If you don't get to cover you are dead the next half/quarter of a second depending on how many health bars you have left. I don't see how getting killed on platinum can be any faster unless they remove shield gate on players.

I would be fine with that if everyone was capable of pulling his/her weight. The number of people who can do that on Gold are already in the minority.

I can take gold with 1 person on any map if platnium is even harder but no reward do you honestly think you will be able to solo it or with only two people I highly doubt it if their is no form of small incentive then it is less like you will have allies to join you

FBW geth expert here.

No buff will make any difference if done right.
If they can be grabbed - they can be farmed
If they dumb to decoy - they can be farmed
If there is 5 times as many thats 5x more BioExplosions

They could do 100x damage and 5 times hp all mobs die in the warp bubble of death while trying to hug the decoy

You know, my hat is off to you who want to attempt to solo Platinum. You must either be incredibly foolish, or incredibly brave.

I'll side with Bryan on this though, the victory he had with his group is I believe the only recorded victory so far, and that is well before the difficulty was in its current state. The likelihood of any single person legitimately beating Platinum solo is astronomically unlikely to me.

I remember the first time i beat gold.  My friend was like hey dude let's try gold, i figured out this easy way to do it so we can see what it's like (he read the forums about FBWGG -.-).   I was like, "dude.. DUDE.. we actually BEAT gold!!! NICE"  I was so proud.. we're gonna feel the same thing with platinum! But.. But... he won't get his butt out of world of warcraft ='(.. I shoulda never gotten him into that game, i am responsible lol

Back in the demo we would try gold and just always fail, sometimes we would get to wave 9 and 10 grrr, it felt so pro to finally beat it.  So i guess we already "knew what it was like" but still xD.. i was paraphrasing anyway

I think we have shown there is different things people would have never thought about that changes things entirely.

IE. Let's speed up hunters, Atlas should shoot more, or you know hey you are fighting some geth and all of sudden you get a banshee.  Plenty more "fun" we are capable of doing
