You know, my hat is off to you who want to attempt to solo Platinum. You must either be incredibly foolish, or incredibly brave.

I'll side with Bryan on this though, the victory he had with his group is I believe the only recorded victory so far, and that is well before the difficulty was in its current state. The likelihood of any single person legitimately beating Platinum solo is astronomically unlikely to me.

Could you tell us what times you score on average while playing on gold with your tryhard pants on?
I know time isn't necessery an indicator for skill but when I see teams beat gold in <17 minutes without even using one rocket in the whole match or player do solo runs in ~20 minutes, it kinda is hard to imagine what Platin is going to be even when players as this are supposed to have problems.

Right now there are players that simply can beat gold regularly without too much trouble (like me) but there are also those guys that probably can beat gold blindfolded and with their hands tied behind their back...

In any case I'm really curious what it's gonna be like.

It's not hard for me to believe.  Small tweaks to the game mechanics would yield huge increases in failure rates (for instance, halving objective timers).  And that's just one aspect of how they can make the game much, much harder.

So did Blizzard say about inferno difficulty in Diablo 3. But people beat it solo in the first two(?) weeks since release. One beat inferno in hardcore mode. And inferno in D3 is much more difficult and cheap than any other difficulty in any other game. It's even cheaper than Gold Geth. :P

And short of Belial I'm in Act 3 of Inferno myself, as well as a couple of other people here. Do not worry, Platinum is very unkind. :)

And the new mission? Is it hard to do?

I havent tried it since an earlier iteration, all I know is we beat it once and then they ramped up the difficulty quite a bit before release.

This got me excited, I can only hope it is really as difficult as you are making it out to be.  Also hoping the new classes aren't op making it easy while making old classes obsolete.

You mean Escort? It's probably the most difficult objective. To me, anyway.

As some of you might know, here in this comunity there are some players ( including me ) who like soloing.

For example I have my own topic where people give me challenges to solo gold, but that's another story...

What we will do here is only based on speculation.

So, how hard do you think it will be to solo platinum?, do you think you will be able to do it?

Besides, also post here what builds would you use for this platinum mode, weapons, powers, characters, etc, remember everything here can be speculation, is just to kill time until release date.

I want something that I won't be capable of handle without a team, and even fail with my most elite team.

I mean, i want something almost imposible, something that really requires full team work, because in an elite team there is not team work, there are only 4 elite players who kill everything in front of them.

I want something that make us camp like noobs

UPDATE:   https://twitter.com/...111717759094784

It seems that soloing "wont" be possible, and that makes me VERY happy.

It seems I will need my elite team to do this....

PS: If you can solo gold, you think you will able to beat platinum?

Or it will be like this?

It's good to see Soloing ins't possible for Platinum. Though I would love to see and play with a good team for this, gonna really enjoy your videos of Platinum in the future man.

Remember to upload your falied attempts as well. Those would be good for some laughs. :P

Oh, Belial... I wiped many times with my wizard there. Completely unpredictable boss, pure Blizzard random. He and his minions can kill you even if you didn't make any mistakes.
I'd love to see unforgiving and fun platinum, so I have to use my head and not just one-shotting enemies with millions of HP and cheap abilities.

I honestly don't time any of the runs I'm in, or remember what my best time is when the whole group is trying to rush through. For the most part I play with people who aren't looking to speedrun anything. I'm sure I've not extracted in under 20 minutes on Gold myself, but low 20s is what I'm thinking I'm at. I could be wrong and it could be a bit longer.

I will say though, that outside of the occasional game with random people, I have not failed to extract on Gold since around the game came out, and with the usual people I play with we usually don't have much any trouble getting to extraction.

Platinum is just hard as nails. But please, wait and see until you can try it for yourself and judge it for yourself. I'm certain there are far more skilled players than myself just itching to get challenged.

I appreciate the answer.
Considering the fact that I tend to score similiar scores with my "N7 MISSILE DAT SWARMERS NOW!!!!!11!1" mates, I'm pretty confident that we'll be challenged to the max.

Maybe one more question:
While testing where you actually truly using teamwork and team "strategies"? For example playing in full biotic squads going all for bio explosions, having a Stasis/sniper combo or just in general actually truly used teamwork?
Most of the time it really is enough to have 4 lone wolfs together that simply all somehow shoot in the enemy direction at the same time.
Even biotics (Adepts) usually detonate their bio explosions themselves, be it a warp+throw or reave+cluster grenade. Due to the small cooldown team never were "forced" to actually "speed up" the procedure for example by having 2 guys only just constantly making the bioplosions ready while 2 others activate them.

In general I just hope that communication and "tactics" will become an absolute must do to have any chance for success. More than just shooting the same enemy and reviving when necessary.
Were your "successful" games true team efforts or was it in all honesty just usuall "ok now all shoot the banshee" teamwork?

Kroguard + Cyclonic Modulator lll + Shield Booster V + 200% CD vs Geth = Continuous Stunlock.  Dead Wave 1.

There fixed that for you.  Have fun with the Primes and Hunters.

Considering the Kroguard is mostly immune to stagger-locking, I see not why that is the case.

Isn't it only true while Barrier is up?  What if the GP pulse cannon knocks out Barrier on hit one.
Then two staggers and three kills?  Or they can up the shots to four (or more, scary)  like the Atlas recently.

Stagger lock immunity is an inherent trait of the class. It has nothing to do with Barrier.

And even if it did have anything to do with Barrier, losing your shields to a Geth Prime would not somehow negate Barrier's effect.

Have you ever played a KV?

This sounds scary.

Seems like you will need a solid team, or at the very least two exceptional players to complete it.

We had a 5-10 minute strategy discussion in the lobby, with Eric Fagnan being one of the other players on my squad, on what specific characters/classes to use, what weapon combinations, what gear and power combinations, and what level we figured we could best survive on, along with a bit of discussion prior to starting about where we should be holding out, who goes to do what objective, and teammate pairings for optimal damage output. (keep in mind that we ran with optimal high level character builds, maximized gear and weapons, too)We play with 4 people in the same room, so communication is really fast and easy, and aside from a little bit of joking around, it was a serious, constant communication affair calling out enemies well before they could reach our positions.
Trust me, in the current setup with the gear, and the new character classes, and the new weapons, Platinum is not a difficulty you are going to want to randomly PUG into.

Are there any specifics we can have about what Platinum will be like? All the tidbits we've had so far has been rather vague, and I'd certainly like to know some concrete examples of how Platinum is made different/harder.

Anything you are allowed to tell us about why it is harder? More shields/armor, more enemy damage, more boss enemies spawned at a time, better tactics, all of the above?

I really hope Platinum has an entry fee :(

I've played with a lot of low-level teammates in Gold (I don't mind), but I hope Platinum actively discourages people who aren't ready. At a minimum I'd love if it required a full load-out of consumables and equipment.

Ideally it would cost at least 20k credits just to try Platinum B)
