Hi, after having the usual problems installing DAO I finally got it to install (A 10-hour headache). Now, when I start the game it opens fine, menus work fine, etc., but when I click on "New Game" it shows the loading screen and then loads a default character standing in the middle of a small, mostly empty room. There are 4 chests and a door in the room, but the door doesn't open or lead anywhere and the chests contain a bunch of potions and accessory items. When I open a chest it levels the character up, but clicking the plus to level up doesn't do anything. So I can't start a new game, and even in this weird room it seems like a bunch of functionality is gone.

Does anybody know what this is about, or even heard about it before? I tried installing the 1.02 patch but it keeps giving me an "error (15)" message and cancels. Please, please help!

I've got patch 1.03 but when I get to the part where I choose my character's background the area where you can see and rotate the character goes completely empty. I tried to just continue but it wont recognize me adding points to attributes so I can't even pick skills after that. Once I get through all that and start I'm looking at a bald human I believe, which is definitely not what I was going for. The part where I try to customize the character's looks only showed me empty space and all the options to adjust the specific features were gray. I thought I would give the character creation tool a shot. I created one just fine and uploaded it, but when I started the game and selected it nothing but empty space still. All of it's attributes were set back to base as well so no skills either. Of course when I choose to start playing my elf is now suddenly a bald human :(

Well I uninstalled the game then reinstalled. This time I didn't patch and that seemed to fix everything. Well at least the problem I was having anyway. I can FINALLY experience the game for the very first time now.

Just because you could dig into a graveyard and find the very worst possible example of a message thread in which none of the participants cared enough about their problem to actually provide any useful information doesn't mean your "Me, Too!" comment had a bit more value as anything for the readers here to work with.

1. Quit digging in the older parts of the cemetery.

2. Fill out an actual problem report in a new, individual message of your own.

I've got a similar occasion. I have the discs, but they are a little damaged, so I installed the game manually. Okay, everything went fine until then. The problem is in the main menu, when I try to start a new game, the loading screen appears for some seconds and after that, it reverts to the main menu and says that the the game I'm trying to LOAD, requires a DLC, but it don't says which DLC I need. Does someone ever faced something like that?

By the way, sorry for any typing mistakes.
(oh yeah, and the game is DAII. I'm posting it here because I didn't find anything related to this kind of error)

And what did you read in the last comment to the thread above your new one?
