Hello guys

I wondered whether you thought the female/female romances or the male/male romances were handled better in the three games.

By this I mean who did you think were the best options for them. Were the F/F romances more interesting/more provided for  than M/M, and vice versa.

F/F will take into account: Liara (yes, she is female, so shep would be considered a lesbian if she romanced her), Kelly, (Samara/Morinth), Samantha, Diana Allers

M/M will take into account: Kaidan, Cortez

My opinion is that, while the M/M kaidan romance is very well done, I do feel it is a bit unfair that they only got 2 as opposed to F/F's 4, and so the gay broshep's had the short end of the romance stick.

Yeah but more people want to walk up the side street than the back alley way.
As far as I am concerned the back alley should be off limits for brothers in arms,

Im not sure what 'side street' you meanPosted Image

But does this mean you think lesbian romances are valid, but gay romances are not?

I never said that.
But make of my post what you will.

As unfair as it is, F/F sells better than M/M.

You forgot The Consort, OP; that's as much of a "romance" as Allers is.

Generally, all are fine, though the weakest handling of the romances were in ME2 even if options were greater, and the best was ME1 even with limited options. Wel,l the weakest handling of the romances was clearly also after the little boy of light starts talking, but that is already clear...

True, but M/M still got one deep romance (kaidan) and F/F got one deep romance too (liara), so in terms of quality, they both got similar standards.

Maybe the ME writers are less comfortable with the man on man action than the rest of Bioware.

I completely disagree. ME1 had the worst romances I've seen in a Bioware game.

Maybe Female on Female is more popular and the majority rules.

That's like saying 'Jocks are more popular in life than sceince nerds, so Tali shouldn't be a squadmate'.

I.e. it's non-sensical

I assure you, the majority of the people who do the lesbian romances are dudes, not actual lesbians.

I don't really want you compare this to social standing as they're two different things.
Compare it to something else to prove your point

I also argue I generally don't care college and under.

There are more jock squadmates then nerd ones.

There are more F/F romances then M/M

Makes sense to me

I think that's what he means, but as I said, just because something's more popular doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game.

Jocks are more popular than science nerds, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to recruit or romance tali

I don't think that is a valid argument but considering Tali is outnumbered by jocks I think I proved my point.

Jocks = ???

Kaidan? Really?

I guess james and jacob may count

Nerds= Tali, Mordin, kind of kasumi

Doesn't fit to me.

I'll use another example.

@Banul, @thoseprotheans The colour blue is the most popular in the world, so does this mean there should not be any other colours in games?

If you love the colour blue then you won't mind so much, but if you don't like it, you will definately mind it.

In the same way, you are straight so it's probably more hard for you to understand how insulting the comments you make sound

Actually, Bisexual woman are more popular than anything. When I took a class on Queer Cinema (That's what it's called) you learn that the most commonly seen representation of an LGBT person is a Bisexual female.

I'm heterosexual but that doesn't prevent me from appreciating both Cortez and Traynor, who are some of the best LGBT figures I've ever seen in a video game.

They may actually BE the best LGBT characters.

Two things.

1. I don't count Samara/Morinth as a romance because Samara doesn't even kiss you, and Morinth kills you if your try anything.

2. Both of the M/M romances are full romances whereas Kelly and Allers (again not counting S/M... unintended pun, but I'm leaving it in) you basically get a single line, and I don't think either of them get the bed scene.

That said, yeah, the more options the better.

I haven't seen them all, but I though the Romances in the game were done pretty well, gay and straight. Although really for F/F I wouldn't count Chambers and Allers for a full romance, not much content AFAIK.
