Yep, that's my favorite part of the so-called "Lore".

Really, that Marauder is not an empty, mindless shell, its a High Ranking Officer! And Lieutenant Brute over there knows all the Marauder Gavorns tricks. Gosh.

Omg lore man, LORE!!!!!!1!!1!! Brotheans!

Dude there is so much lore in Alliance Phantoms, you don't even know.

They should put some more in their breasts though.
Maybe in the next DLC.

Breasts?
Nah, man, nah. You go it all wrong.
What this game really needs is some phat booty girls.
Not the white version of a big booty. I'm talking about big thick ghetto booty.
The kind that make grown black men faint like a dehydrated little girl at a Justin Bieber concert.

I know sure as hell this had nothing to do with my topic dear

I mean you guys wonder why some of us women don't talk on the mic either a you won't take us seriously or b you just focus on sexual stuff the entire time of course why would any woman feel like talking to the males on this game lol?

You must be a PC player or PS3 cause i've never sen that issue on xbox. I figure its mostly kids and early teens who do that. Most of the peeps in my friends list are late 20s early 30s and we never have issues like that

ps3 but the way alot of men so far are sexualizing the phantoms instead of talking about reasons why or why not the phantoms should be added already people going off topic by a land slide

lol not gonna lie i make dirty jokes about them all the time but only when i'm playing with people i know are cool with it.

Another good reason after the alliance has seen the cerberus phantoms they would want to get their own or find a way to utilize their tech or training another good possible reason

That's the conclusion I came to. We also have Cerberus defectors(Who would share info on tech)

Cerberus' operations were not interlinked. The individuals which Jacob was guarding are proof enough of that, saying that they only had "one piece of the puzzle" but managed to put it all together when they started stealing information on the other projects.

As for the Phoenix Adepts:
Soldiers don't have the same technological knowledge of creating their equipment that the scientists who develop it do. They use two different skill sets, soldiers need to know how to operate and feasibly maintain it but the actual production is different.

and I think one of the operation's flavour text mentioned we captured a few Phantoms. They wouldn't talk, but we could study their equipment.

and once you make this fancy new tech, who better to field it for the first time than your most elite operatives?

We captured a few Nemesis, per the SP campaign.

Their heads exploded due to flashbangs implanted within their goggles.

Aren't some Cerberus scientists a war asset in the campaign?

Yes, but they are not necessarily involved in the projects which created the Phantoms.

.....so they couldn't download a single file on Cerberus technology before defecting?

The thing is that your whole counter-argument to it hinges on the Alliance not being able to reverse engineer the equipment.

They should be able to do it without ex-Cerberus people's help. Just behead a Phantom and take her equipment for study. You'd at least be able to figure out the mind bullets, sword, and a few other things related to the armour. Any ex-Cerberus people would be able to help by understanding Cerberus tech, even if they have to piece it together like Brynn/Jacob's team did(Which the Alliance has that team if you did the mission)

You probably wouldn't get her biotic implants for things like hand of denial, but the Shadow doesn't have that ability.

Given that those scientists make it, as I said, quite clear that the Ilusive Man is the only one who "sees the whole picture" of what these projects create--it's very unlikely.

It'd be a measure of plot shenanigans of unimaginable proportions in my mind if that is explained as the case, however.

I hate to be this person, but a little punctuation never hurt anyone.

Also, straight men sexualizing women in skintight outfits who flip around with swords? I am flabbergasted.

I'm absolutely aware of that.

Reverse engineering the armor, however, is not my issue. Any idiot can duplicate armor relatively easily.

The other part of the argument from the "art design" thread is that why would the Alliance begin contracting manufacturers to create something like this for their troops?
Why would they start up training regimens for sword wielding ninjas?

They don't have unlimited funds and no oversight. You're going to have to play ball with the politicians in order to have this kind of stuff done.

Well you have the N7 operatives, who are already elite specialists.

Other than that, space time machine magic?

I don't think games work on the same time frame as the real world does =P

What doesn't make sense: the Infiltrator is going to look like a Phantom when Phantoms have Barriers, not Shields.

The new Vanguard looks like Kai Leng, who has shields, not Barriers.

It makes no sense to me.

The argument could be made that they wanted to utilize it after seeing how effective Cerberus Phantoms are. That's what Humans do when they see something that works really well: Use it themselves.

The sword is also not the only thing they can use. They're most likely going to be able to carry a gun, even if their powers all use the sword.
