Ending still sucks, Rannoch kinda sucks as well, and so does Kai Lang... but I do give you points for trying to fix it instead of just leaving it.

Thank you for creating this fantastic universe. Thank you for creating the best games ever made. You have changed my view on gaming, and on life.

I hope you do realize that most of the free content is a damage repair from their part?

Outrage with the ending was a big thing whatever you may hear about it. It was. Now BW is trying to get on the customers good side once again. Why? Next preorders.

They must build their image once again, rekindle the romance with fans so the preorders skyrocket when the DA3 (or whatever comes next) hype starts.

I may be cynical about this but thats because I'm not forgetful.

Oh well, I guess you're like a crow. Happy to see shiny stuff in front of you. If only my standards were that low. Better to be stupid and happy, I say.

No. But I will say thank you for the soundtrack, yeah, that was nice - although I couldn't care less about it myself.
But thank you for ME1, it really brought me joy.

Endings are still eh and I wish there were more options. Like destroying the Reapers but still saving EDI and the Geth :/ but hey, they did make the endings a **** ton better than what they were.

If they went that far then maybe they'll continue to polish it a bit and add on to it :D Doubtful but maybe lol. Its awesome that they even did that though. They could have not cared and done nothing so yeah, thanks for that Bioware :)

My faith has been restored considerably and I'm looking forward to the Leviathan DLC.

I like haters, they give us tons of free entertainment ! I just hope they complain and whine so much about other things they buy in life as well, but probably not... many products don't have their own forum. There are some movies I watched where I didn't like the ending, but I didn't find a forum for them where I could ask them to change the ending. And the bluray version was almost as expensive as ME3 :/ Anyway, thanks for all the whining, always fun to log on this forum to read some of it ;D

They already got my money.
I am just a customer and I don't consider them my friends or relatives. So no, I won't thank anyone just beacuse they did their job or something I paid for.

Liking ones arse did not get you the EC, I remind. It´s a mindset like yours that did contribute nothing, nothing positive and nothing negativ. just nothing.

Eeeexcept I started posting here on BSN solely because I felt hugely disappointed by the endings ;) before that, I had next to no posts here (if any at all), and I certainly didn't check the forums on a weekly basis.

I have voted on polls, I've sometimes written why I thought they were lacking but mostly I've quoted posts that said it much more eloquently than I could ever do, I encouraged the idea to address the endings and I subsequently responded to their official feedback thread months ago about what we would like to see in the Extended Cut...

Just because I stated in that one post that I enjoyed Mass Effect 3, you took it to mean I loved the endings as well and never criticised BioWare for screwing up the end of an epic trilogy? The world isn't black and white, you know :P

There's a right way to criticise and a "less right". And then there are posts like the one I quoted (and that you're defending) whose criticism isn't even aimed at the company, but at a fellow player. What part of it do you feel is worthy of that? I believe in the mindset of treating others with respect, doing unto them what we would have them do unto us, making the world just a slightly better place in the process. His saddening attitude contributes nothing positive in that regard (or any other, for that matter).

Look to Swordfishtrombone for the proper way to criticise. Don't waste your time defending someone whose post was simply aimed at pointing out what he perceives as inferiority in another human being.

With all this childish and absurd negativity, I really wish they'd just shut the forums down for a year or two and be done with it.

The original endings were abominations. Gamers took heart and made their voices heard. We were all called many things by the press, but we kept pressing on. Bioware took the advice and made changes. Now, however, all the people that continue to press down and beat a dead horse have finally driven me to the point where I have to agree.

This is Bioware's game. Whatever fan feedback could do is done. Now we all got the EC for free? You don't like it? Tough. This is Bioware's house, and their game. If you're a respectful fan and consumer, stop going on and on with diarrhea of the mouth as if it's going to make a damn bit of difference. Bioware doesn't owe me, you, your mom, or your uncle's dog anything. This is their game and they did the fans a free service. They worked their collective asses off to get the EC to us as soon as they could, and whether you like it or not, that effort was made.

If you follow their twitter, you get a lot of context clues on how they feel about the people bashing their hard work, whether they liked it or not aside. I wish we could all get tagged by beast so internet anonymity wouldn't exist. If you and a dear friend got into a fight and your friend brought you a gift to apologize, you wouldn't throw their gift on the ground, spit on it, light it on fire, and then continue to belittle your friend in their own house. Regardless of whether you liked the gift or not. It was the effort that was put into getting it. It took their time, and cost you nothing.

Bioware's not your friend, you say? Then don't call yourself a former fan of any kind. Being a fan means forgiveness and appreciation. If you're not a fan, and just an angry consumer, why are you wasting your time? Move on to other things, because if you're not committed to the franchise than being here is pointless.

That said. Thanks you Bioware for a wonderful game and for working so hard to bring us all this free content. Even though I hate multiplayer. Thanks anyway. I was one of the most vocal fans on the forums after the ending debacle and I was there. Even the only press that supported fans, Forbes, gave us the advice to be appreciative. The internet, she is a whale of negativity.

Anyway. I post this knowing full well all the truly, and I'm loath to say it for the first time, self-entitled gamers who act as if they own a majority stock share at EA will be right behind this post so I'm going to slip out for a while. Apologies if I offended anyone, but the truth hurts. I just can't stand the stupidity anymore. Grow the #$% up and act like responsible consumers and adults and know when to say thank you.

In my country we say "he's talking right, pour him more beer!" [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

I was upset with the original endings. I am pretty sure Bioware  just ran out of time and the game was prematurely released. Since EC I'm pretty sure I finally got what I paid for and I like it so much.

For all those, who are not satisfied with the endings (I can understand your feelings) I'd like to emphasize one thing:

Yalision wrote...

You can come up with your very own ending if you like to. Bioware doesn't own your brain.
There's a lot of fanfic out there and it can be a real fun to make one.
Check out Marauder Shields initiative at koobismo.deviantart.com - it's one of examples. The guy's doing great job holding the line for anyone who wishes alternative endings.
And there is always the Indoctrination Theory (you don't have to count EC as canon).

Since

Space Grandpa After The Credits said...

It all happened so long ago, some details got lost.

there's no reason to limit yourself to what you saw earlier.

So be creative. Use your imagination. Let us know if you come up with anything awesome.
But leave everyone who is happy with ME3 as it is in peace :)
  • Deny the endings really happened
  • Take control and create your own fanfic
  • Fill the plotholes and try to figure out why the endings were great after all, rather than why they were dull

I consider myself a fan even if I not consider them my friends.
I consider myself a fan in the moment that "I bought their game" -> "I liked it" -> "I am going to buy their next game".
I like their products? I buy them. And I will probably preorder their next game. This is the way I use to show my appreciation.

Most of you guys are just spoiled brats. It's not Bioware's fault for the ending, it's EA. You should be glad they did anything at all. They could have ignored the game. Maybe they shouldn't have released the game at all, since most of you guys don't deserve to play it because you'll never be satisfied with anything.

I would not usualy give thanks to a developer after a purchase, it is a business transaction after all. My apreciation is reflected in my purchase of every iteration in their franchise and every dlc they release.

In a reaction to all the negativity Bioware is getting from a lot of the people around here i would like to state that i thoroughly enjoyed mass effect 3, eventhough i consider the ending too depressing for my taste.

Mass effect is my favority franchise, i will buy all dlc and eventhough i was very scepticle at first i am even engaged in the multiplayer so kudos to you Bioware.

To people making demands about the ending, did you ever demanded a different ending after viewing a movie or reading a book? Seems childish does'nt it? After all it is their story to tell.

First I was sceptic about all the Clarification and additional dialogue.

But now that I played the game with EC I found out that this is what I wanted. It's perfect for me.

On my 4th playthrough since EC now.

I gave up on MP some time ago because I found it boring, perhaps I'll give it another shot.

So for me, a huge thanks you BioWare.

I spent more time playing ME games in the last 5 years than all the rest combined. It was an amazing journey and I am grateful for the experience. The games are a very high quality product and delivers on most levels.

Fair enough, but now it's not a turd. It's a polished turd. Still a turd, but slightly easier on the eyes. And that's a hell of a lot more than what most companies do for their fans.

I'd suggest you take a unbiased moment to reflect on all the little aspects of the game that BW put in there solely because of feed back from its fans (mostly on the BSN).  They were trivial additions that wouldn't be noticed by the average gamer.  Things like: a firing range, NPC movement on Normandy, Blasto, and oh yeah.. the EC.  You may be able to name more if you think about it.
