I thank Bioware for creating Mass Effect 1 and 2. I also thank them for inspiring Koobismo, who is in the process of giving us the breathtaking ending to the trilogy. <3!

EDIT: Shoot, how could I forget?! I would also like to offer my appreciation to Patrick Weekes and of course Drew Karpyshyn!

Hmmm let's review what I wrote

Barronator wrote...

stfu everyone who is talking about the ending, if you don't want to thank bioware then don't open this topic called "can we get a huge THANKS to bioware".

It's no wonder you fools couldn't comprehend such an amazing ending.

Edit: Forgot to say <3 you Bioware.

Then you implied that I'm upset and crying about other people who don't like the ending? If you would actually READ what I wrote it clearly says "stfu everyone who is TALKING about the ending" I don't specify people who hate the ending only.. the topic is about thanking bioware which is what I was doing and for someone who likes to talk about what the thread is FOR posting a crybaby insult has nothing to do with this topic yet you did it anyway.

Objectively,ME3 is a game gains 94 on Metacritic and has the potential to be the GOTY.
Subjectively,I believe the orignal ending amplified the complaint to the whole game. Complaint happened to every BioWare game.
ME3 is a piece of flawed gold.No matter what those whinners say,it will be a classic one and rised the whole franchise to the same level of Kotor.Time will prove it.

Mass Effect is my favourite game series of all time. The story and characters are some of my favourites ever from any form of entertainment. I like the attention to detail with the history and culture of the other races. I like the action, and the ability to make choices that can shape events to some degree.

Its not perfect, and there are certain things that I think could have been done differently. I'm not afraid to critisise, but that's only ever intended to be feedback for Bioware to learn from and improve whether it be in this game or the next. I do get the feeling that they listen to us (but of course its impossible to please everyone).

But the from the start of ME1 to the end of ME3, the awesome vastly outweighs the not so good. Its been a really fun, emotional ride.

So yes, I'm more than happy to give my HUGE THANK YOU to everyone connected with the series - writers, programmers, artists, voice actors/actresses, musicians and anyone else who doesn't fit into those categories.

Thank you Bioware for all your hard work and passion you put into your games!!!

Up until the release of Dragon Age Origins, i would have agreed with the statment that more Developers should be like Bioware. Now? No thanks. I hope future generations of Developers will take it as learning example of "how not to do it" or rather "What happens if you get cocky and reached your hybris".

I said my thank yous already and i hope that at some point there will be another Developer Group like Bioware used to be. As far as i am concerned, i've downgraded them from "special regards" to barely "run-of-the-mill".

I would also like to add my thanks. I think they have done brilliantly throughout the ME-series, everything included. They reacted well to the critism they got regarding the ending(s) by releasing an extented cut for no extra charge.

Thank you and keep up the good work!

I will join you in giving thanks to BioWare!

Mass Effect has been my favourite franchise for years and I might have accidentally become a fanboy! Sure I recognise when things are wrong rather than setting fire to anyone who dare to criticise my beolved trilogy but, on the whole, I love the lore and the myriad of races and characters they populated the Galaxy with. I still have to plough through the novels and I'm missing some of the graphic novels - watch this space!

Each game in the trilogy has it's own advantages over the others and that's one thing that makes re-playing a lot easier to enjoy. If not, I'd just be going through the motions, just to get ready for ME3 rather than enjoying as a new Shepard comes to life and chooses his / her path and does things his/her own way. Sure there are negatives too but I find each game has a lot more pros than cons.

The ending was such a kick in the daddy-bags that I paced the kitchen like a caged animal for almost half an hour, unable to comprehand what just happened after all those hours of mind-blowing awesomeness. Mind you it was 3am and I was drunk, which probably didn't help!

I joined the Retake Mass Effect movement and, while I was pretty scathing of the endings, I did my best to engage in reasoned discussion and intelligent (mostly!) commentary rather than calling for the heads of everyone at BW / EA. When the EC was announced and I read the FAQ, my initial response was: "Oh...." as it sounded like more of the same with a few more knobs on...

When I finished the EC, sticking with my MShep's original choice (Destroy), rather than wear a new groove into my kitchen floor, I actually felt my bottom lip quivering. I'd been given a LOT more closure, saw some pretty badass new cutscenes and generally felt a lot more fulfilled. OK so it was far from perfect but hey - BioWare didn't have to make it and considering it was made very quickly and on their own money, I thought it was pretty damned good work! Certainly I can now look forward to new playthroughs right from the very start with anticipation rather than a feeling of "oh what's the point?"

So, thank-you BioWare! Thank you for Mass Effect and thank you for coming through with the goods (The EC) when you didn't have to.

Why did I feel the need to write all that out? Simple - I wanted to justify my reasons rather than just spout a one-liner and then something ****y.

Peace!

First, they release an amazing game in ME3.

They've done (much) better before. ME3 was an emotional rollercoaster, but it felt too stilted, too unnatural, and too disconnected from the rest. ME3 is not that amazing, and I'm baffled that so many people overlook how poor the story is put together. I guess that's all because the ending overshadows the rest, though.

deuce985 wrote...

All the free MP DLC and gave us the awesome EC.

It's only free because so many people pay money to buy the packs. They are the real cause that the MP DLC are free, so you'd be better off thanking them.

deuce985 wrote...

SP DLC on the way(can't wait, paid or free).

Now that the Extended Cut is out, I can honestly say I'm no longer interested in anything Mass Effect. I'm not sure how it works, but it has brought closure, too bad it's in a 'goodbye' kind of way, I very much enjoyed the combat, the only think done right in the game.

Game isn't amazing read my review (  click on my signature )

Then, they continue with a ton of post-launch support for the community.

All the free MP DLC

Bioware themselves annoucned before the release ME3 these DLC's would be free, guess you didn't stay up on the news before ME3 release date.

EC is a joke, here's a good review "click here"

deuce985 wrote...
They even listended to the community and gave us the new EC soundtracks free!.

if they really listened to the community, then why I haven't gotten any responses from Bioware on my reviews. Why hasn't the support groups on BSN who've spent hours compiling books, articles, reviews, and videos on their desire for LI DLC

or all the fans who want more Wrex (this has been talked about since ME2 dayz)

anyway, it's good you like ME3. But, there's also many who aren't happy with ME3 (not talking about ending) talking about the game as a whole

I find surprisingly much hate in this thread, really guys? Are the last 10 minutes going to define the other 100+ hours of an otherwise amazing trilogy?

Yes because for me it destroys everything I did in last 100+ hours of amazing gameplay.  I no longer have the excitement to play it again because I know I have no rewarding experience too look forward to for my efforts.

I don't think they deserve a real thank you for ME3.

For creating Mass Effect, yes.
But the finale (ME3 as a whole) was just 'meh' and doesn't deserve any special attention. It was a uninspired and rather mediocre game which only held up my attention because of it's outstanding prequels.
It's missing any real... Soul. ME3 is really representing the least minimum I expected out of the last title. Every arc is finished, but so heartlessly that it seemed like they just worked down a strict list: Starting with Tuchanka and Rannoch and then fast finish everything for the early release.

They definitely get my thanks for developing the franchise that tore at my heartstrings more than any other before or since.

All three games weren't perfect. If I wanted to, I could nitpick them apart. But I don't do that with things I love.

So thank you Bioware and esp. the ME team. For wonderful games, DLC and much more. After the Extended Cut, I am particularly grateful.

Now, SP DLC please! I need MOAR!
