Something Grim Fandango. New KotOR game that is not MMO. Jade Empire 2. A few console-exclusive games that i'm sure will never make it to PC.
This thread makes me sad

"Defiance"
Alpha Protocol 2
Another Fallout by Obsidian

Another 360 game by Mistwalker would be nice as well; after having played Lost Odyssey, I've been longing for another game of theirs for quite some time now.

A true KOTOR sequel, which properly concludes the saga of Revan and the Exile.

A Shenmue sequel with improved open world gameplay and concludes Ryo Hazuki's story.

A Lord of the Rings game that can rival The Witcher 2. If a little known Polish fantasy book series can have a killer game, then why not the fantasy book series that started it all?

A open world samurai game set in feudal Japan. It'll be like Red Dead Redemption except with katanas instead of six shooters.

A true open world detective game that didn't feel half assed like LA Noire

I'd rather have Obsidian handle it. Kotor 2 is far better than Kotor 1 story and gameplay wise.

I see Shenmue has already been mentioned. It definitely needs a sequel. Cliffhangers suck.

I'd also like to see another co-op Rolling Thunder game, a Streets of Rage remake, and the obligatory Arcanum and Bloodlines sequels.

Most of all, Neverwinter Nights 3. Complete with a glorious user friendly toolset and amazing developer support to help the community flourish. I love NWN2, but it never properly replaced its predecessor. A sequel that could reunite the community under one banner would be great. I just hope the D&D Next ruleset is up to par.

An RPG that can at least match the quality of Planescape Torment when it comes to the story, but also doesn't neglect the gameplay aspect.

Combat should be strategic, pause/play, companions with branching storylines, romance options, bosses with different abilities and ways to bring down, a silent protagonist, complete and deep customization options regarding the aspect and playstyle of your character.

And it should be made by Obsidian.

As with everyone, Kotor 3, but not made by Bioware. They're like the abusive mother no longer capable of caring for their child.

Homeworld 3, just to see the beauty of Homeworld born again. That's all I've got up to now.

A remake or part 2 of BodyHarvest from Rockstar, given the game was made by them, or rather who they were in the before time.

There is a Resident Evil Outbreak part 2. Ironically called File 2.

My answer is precisely the same to what I'd like to see from BioWare: A modern RPG that takes place in-and-out of a high school setting. Instead of putting stats into strength/int/etc., they would be more broad choices like verbose: This can affect your skills not only in classes(i.e. English or the Dramatic Arts), but in real life as well through conversational abilities and more action-related chocies. However, any type of "Level Ups" would be contextual - experience is not gained on a consistent basis by killing/talking to whoever for the 50th time. It would be a bit like V:tmB, where experience through recurring blood-lust does not exist.

You could essentially view the conversational choices as Paragon/Renegade, but those choices would not affect your ability to make future choices in the same vein that Mass Effect took with reputation or what have you. It would consist either of resisting temptation, or resisting authority. I would hence call the game Resist.

And yes, romance would be available. It's high school, after all. I'd want them to feel like real romances, though. Something that gave both the good and bad, and didn't just feel like a railroad trip to getting inside their pants. dats kinna pervy tbh. There have to be many opportunities(at least early on) to fumble in a relationship, just like you would in real life.

I wouldn't want it to just be "The High School RPG", it'd have to have all sides of living with a family. It'd have to be relatively open-world, probably more along the lines of V:tmB, Arcanum, or anything Troika did. I don't think I'd add Exam/Test minigames with the quantity Bully did. I like the idea, but something like that has to be done in very minute modicums. So it would fall somewhere between Heavy Rain, Bully, American Beauty, V:tmB, and my own personal insanity.

I don't expect to see this in retail anytime soon. Looking at my list of favorite games of the current generation, only a handful of them really qualify as "Ambitious". I still greatly enjoyed some and found them highly entertaining, but the following rest heavily on the laurels of a previous sequel or similar games: ME2/3, Assassins Creed 2(and Above), MGS4, and Skyrim as examples.

But hey, there's only one thing to do if your dream game isn't out there yet:

Go out there and make it.

-DV

A high school RPG...really?

I worded it incorrectly. It would take place during that period of said Player Character's life, but it wouldn't revolve entirely around high school i.e. Bully. I would intend to throw all sorts of moral dilemmas into the mix between family and everything else. There would be a main plot, but not the kind that would(at least initially) push you into going through it before everything else. "High School RPG" by itself sounds boring. That wouldn't be my intention. Sorry you don't care for the idea.
