You do.  She's called Morrigan.

I find it really annoying that male gamers presume to tell female gamers what we can and can't have.  This is *my* PC I'm talking about, not some adolescent male gamer's version of fantasy pr0n girl.  What I am hearing from many women on the Social is that we want our characters to look like they are actually there to fight, not like they are there to provide pleasing visuals for the male characters.  I fail to understand why we aren't entitled to this.  I don't think any of us are suggesting that we want everything in the game to be 100% realistic.  Rather, we are asking to be able to create PC who don't look like she's going to go pose for a spread in Playboy just as soon as she finishes off the mean, nasty ogre that's attacking her.

Not to be Chauvenistic  but "Any last wishes I could help fulfill before you head into battle? Life is fleeting you know. That pretty face could be decorating some darkspawn spear this time tomorrow." Besides its not what your wearing that intrigues me its what you might not be wearing.

You can make your PC as ugly as you like, so I doubt there's problems there. As we're talking about leather armor I'll have you ladies that seem to be offended note that when a male model wears the armor...we get the frilly leather skirt that goes with it too, no pants for the fellas. Not so bad okay, it's more Greek/Roman style so it fits being a skirt right? No, female gamers are offended that they look like playboy models in leather armor that has a total of 3-ish models
and exposes far too much to be practical. Well, guys are close to being in the same boat really, scept our breasts don't tend to be weapons of mass distraction. You basically mean that even as modest as leather armor is, you didn't like how it looked...too sexy.

Answer: You want to upgrade to Medium armor...barring that you can have someone model a "tasteful" leather get-up for you. Perhaps using a medium armor model which will make you look and feel more practical as it covers your whole body. The body model itself you might find a mod which makes you look less attractive and tough body-wise.  Me, well I'm  guy and since you seem to be all over the "male gamers" mind you know what I think about that.

Realism is overrated. I've visited reality one time; didn't like it much. Very boring and unoriginal.

So yay for impractical armor. As long as it looks cool, then I am happy. Over-sized heavy metal shoulder plates anyone?

I agree that some diversity in the leather armor would be welcome, mostly because it was all the same model retextured and that was especially disturbing on the dalish armor that is supposed to have a bare stomach. That said I certainly don't think it was too revealing. I could go as far as saying there was somewhat of a lack of sexy outfits in the game even when it comes to robes and clothing. For the record not every female gamer wants to have their PC covered up from head to toe. As for the realism a game is a media intended for entertainment so I don't see anything wrong with sacrificing some of the realism for aesthetics.

I believe that in RPGs female armor should be either realistic or sexy (sure, both would be better, but that's rarely seen). The leathers in DA:O are neither.

You have your main leather, with a stupid plunging neckline that leaves only a choker to protect the neck, and at the same time does not reveal any cleavage. What's the point of that?

Then there is the Dalish armor, which leaves the stomach completely bare, yet the abs don't look good and it makes the character look fat from the side. Again, what's the big idea?

Bioware should have either made realistic leathers, or more revealing and sexy ones. They tried to go somewhere half-way, and ended up making a mess.

I support the OP.

And, since anything from the collar down is part of hte armor set, a bit of re-texturing should make it possible to have a more realistic light armor for females.

I would pick any of the light armor - sets over this horrid  robe ---> videos.apnicommunity.com/Video,Item,3136337067.html

That beats everything in the section of fantasy-eyecandy, and is one of the most unrealistic things ingame.
Those are robes of Chasind, wilder folk, and one model can be found within the Korkari - wilds, an area that doesn't strike me as either very sunny and tropical for such an outfit or safe enough to fight.

I would also like to see more realistic  light armors for women. It is simply silly and unrealistic that their neck/chest are exposed, as well as upper legs and upper arms in some models, or as with the dalish model - Almost everything.
So yep, I am with the OP - An Improvement in realism of light armor for women would be awesome...
Makes me wish I had a bit more knowledge about 3d-Modeling... heh, I would start modeling some armors immediately.

If we make all the armors realistic, they better make a mod that has the Aodh cook its wearer alive.

The leather armors suck, they are perhaps main thing in DAO I hate so I always go for medium armor as soon as I can. There is no diversity, imo there should be at least 2 versions, a functional more realistic one and a more fantasy style one for those who want the scantily clad rogue.

Why does every thread about anything to do with showing a little skin on the female models attract the "Prude Patrol". Get over yourselves, we don't care how you want to dress in reality, we don't care if you are all chaste, man hating femanists but don't presume to throw around insults at males because you didn't get the "Amnish" rated version of the game you wanted. I will always prefer to look at pretty women in my games and so would a lot of the women I know. This is a "Dark Fantasy" game and the very genre incites thoughts of scantily clad adventurers wielding impossibly large weapons. If all of you anti people got your way none of the rest of us would be playing this game. Why don't you go play NWN2 and leave DAO to the people mature enough to know that our opinion need not be voiced in every thread that leaves the slitest opening. You would think you would have learned by now how to phrase your posts so as not to offend. Ask for what you want, don't insult people because its not already there. For example:

SweetiePea, your post conveys a valid request, one that many of us agree with, the leather armors are not diverse enough, we can all agree on that but why do you have to bash men?  You persist in this attitude even when it makes you look like an immature child that won't accept that any view but yours is valid. You are well within your rights to want a "tougher" looking PC and the armor that will make it so. As I said, none of us would have a problem with that comming into being. Why not just post your request and avoid derailing the thread?

Wow, so, you think that people don't have the right to a couple of options for the female version of light armour? It should always be the same exact model with a bit of reskinning? Forget that male versions can have various looks and actually do cover the chest. Those playing female characters just have no right to ask for something similar, huh?

um, are you replying to me? I agreed that there isn't enough variety in the armors. While I do like the more fantasy style armors I would also like to see some more conservative ones included too. Not every character is suited to being scantily clad. I think all of us agree that the leather armors, particularly the female ones are weak and can't make up their mind wether they are more fantasy or more realistic.

My vote : No.

Don't deprive us working class men some few pleasures in life. I don't want to see the day when game characters run around in Burquas.

I just saw a nice outfit for Morrigan by the Mage's store in Denerim. Something "..." of the Witches. Nice low price, plunging neckline and stockings.

And don't working women get a say in what our characters look like? Whenever a guy complains that his mage has to wear a "dress" because they don't like the fashion of wearing a robe, everyone agrees with him, saying they want to be able to wear pants. When someone wants the female characters to be a bit more protected by their armor, people complain that it would take away from the fantasy/eye candy.

Maybe some guys' fantasy is protecting all the scantily clad helpless women he travels with, and that's fine. My fantasy might be being a badass female rogue. It's just hard to feel badass when it looks like my character is dressed to pick up guys rather than to fight.

Just to satisfy all the Chauvinists here you can find your hearts desire in armor and lingerie at DANexus from community modders that have already answered your requests. Unfortunately Ladies no one has bothered to take your request seriously. If I could Mod or actually create something with the toolset I would do that, not so much because I dont like scantily clad women but It would make me a huge hero on the forum........ :-)

Not to you specifically, but to the few scattered through that made this impression. (Though the newly edited version of your post is better at clarifying your position.)

Sadly, it is always this way. I could never find new skins for cool "regular" armour for nwn2, but there was an endless bounty of various lingere and domy stuff. (If anyone can point me to some good regular armour mods for nwn2, please do, via PM)

Because it's impossible atm.
To do so you have to import new meshes and this is not really working for armors.
So the only option is to use medium armor as the base. And this option is already ingame.
Anyway, beside the fact i won't use those armors i still second the request. More variety is never bad.
