So the Revenant destroys my team each and every time (levels 8-9, Morrigan, the hound, Alistair and my rogue character).

get use to them, you will kill plenty of them in the game if you want todo everything before finishing.

freeze or forcefield him and take care of the skeletons. if you don't have anyone strong enough keep up in melee. make the agro guy run while you shot the revenant.
Oh, and you can sometimes pull a lot of the skeletons individually, definitely the archers. Move forward a little and the archers will start shooting, if you run back under the wall and hide behind the tree they will come down into the courtyard and run right up to you. Dispose of them first and things will be easier.

I guess they're the lazy kind.
And anyway, if they're dead, then I wonder who the hell is shouting "To arms!". I guess it's a scream from the underworld.
I will try out some of these tactics, I have no freeze or forcefield strong enough to stop him though.

Hey guys, I wasn't sure the knights who are supposed to come were the same as the dead knights from the battle. There are alive knights near the windmill, actually.

Dont worry about it...several times lve saved all the Knights and Ser Perth...and yet they dont appear to come thru the gate for the battle[Ps3 version].
I assume its a wonderous bug.

For later, the best spell against melee bosses like revenants (and revenants are insanely strong)... is misdirection hex, get it ASAP.

I killed each of the Archers atop the stairs with Morrigan while popping Health Poultices. Alternatively, you could move back in the nook beside the stairs, forcing the archers to run down. Next, I healed up and pulled the Revenant's buddies and took them out in the same nook. Lastly, I pulled the Revenant and brought him down, with Alistair and Shale tanking.
Be sure to keep your other party members in place (by pressing "H") while you ping the archers with Morrigan, and don't move too close to the Revenant when you draw his buddies. Forcefield on the tank and freeze spells against the Revenant are your friends. I had Alistair tank until his health got low, then cast Forcefield on him. If Shale took the enemy's hate, he was able to hold up via Health Poultices until Alistair was free, and then I used the same method.
I may have had a death, can't remember, but the fight was surprisingly easy once I took out the extra goons.

Anyway, I did it. Thanks for your help. I didn't change the party, and it wasn't so hard following some of your tips. I lured Revvie's little helpers one by one behind the stairs, where we took care of them. Then the Revenant came but he was alone against four and died quite fast. I had Morrigan die on me, but oh well, I'll just cure her malady.
Anyway I was sorely disappointed by the loot, all the Revenant gave me was just a little money, less than some thugs I've fought...

Hah, I always do that. To keep the NPCs alive, and to keep all the XP to myself. (They do steal XP, even Waking Nightmare denies you XP.)TriggerHappy64 wrote...

I had no problem to pull ALL of the adds except one with carefully stepping forward and running backward the moment someone came for me.
After that, the Rev was only trivial.
I was already level 12 though, and I had Wynne and my own HC for heals.
