Then we're talking about two very different developers. Seeing how the EC was made because of fan reaction, but didn't address any of the issues people had with the endings at all. They forced MP even though their fans didn't want it, they removed story elements, rewrote character, and littered the script with more story holes than a block of swiss cheese. Look forward to it all you want. Doesn't change the fact that DA3 still wont be a successor to DAO, and SWTOR was a failure.

So that's 3 bad games, and bad DLC to go with it, and a new game that follows the formula of their last game. Despite the fact that a lot of their fans don't want that.

But they listen and respond to their fans.

A lot of people were happy or content with EC. It gave them what they wanted even if some remained unhappy. I was taking part and discussing what they are doing with DA3 on the DA2 sections along with many other people and a lot of us do like sort of things we are hearing and discussing on there. I was also around here and saw the threads where a portion of their fans did indeed ask for MP and lastly I seriously I do not believe you for a second you hate them as much as you pretend to do in here. If you did you wouldn't be here. Simple as that. So obviously at some level you think they could make something you might enjoy else you wouldn't be here. Sorry but the way you are coming across is very much state of not what you want but your phrasing it as not what "fans" want, like I said I am a fan and I disagree as do many others.

And what have they done or said to generate any kind of confidence that they're trying to make story drvien RPGs? Not a thing. In fact everything they've said and done since DA2 was in favor of their last three games. Seeing how this is another mmorpg after the failure of their last one shows they're not listening to fan reaction. Hell, they're not even bothering to even slightly appease fans with story DLC for ME3 after seeing how fans reacted to DA2 story DLC.

Face it, they're a crap developer at this point with no signs of changing.

Firstly I am a fan as equal as any other and they are making games I might still enjoy. I am looking forward to DA3 and while ME3 was not an amazing game (imho), it was a good game. Secondly and simply no, they are not a crap developer and they do listen even if sometimes they do not agree.

They have very selective hearing.

Another article here sporting such gems as

"It's like when someone tells you to read Chaucer," Barnett commented.
"I know it's supposed to be brilliant, but it's incomprehensible!"
Shifting from literature to film, he compared it to Battleship Potemkin, a 1925 Soviet film that pioneered many techniques that nearly all movies have used since. "I mean, I'm aware that Battleship Potemkin
defined modern cinema, but it's not a great view. You watch it and go,
'it's black and white and a bit crap, I'd rather watch something else.

and

According to Barnett, "It plays fast, it's clicky, but the combat's fluid and fun rather than tactical and mind-numbing.

I'm kind of sick to my stomach reading that article, especially given the guy who gave those quotes is a creative director, and not just some marketing shill.

Well, I gave up on Ultima back with Ultima 9, but I'm speculating the reason why  they're going with "Lady British" is because Richard Garriott retained  the right of the use of Lord British.

Yep this. And honestly, Bioware can't do anything to Ultima that it didn't already do to  itself. There's nothing left to ruin.

When the game is described as a "reboot" of Ultima IV...yes there is.

HEY! Its the new LADY BRITISH!

- Lord British is now Lady British.
- Dialogue similar to Dragon Age (Knowing recent Bioware, it would be DA2)
- "Combat is fun and clicky, not tactical and mind-numbing" (what?) Translate from Bioware Bullsh*t that means "WHEN YOU PRESS A BUTTON, SOMETHING AWESOME HAS TO HAPPEN!"

It's like they've learnt absolutely nothing from their mistakes from DA2 or SWTOR, this can only end in disaster for Bioware.

It really feels like they're grasping at straws now, Mass Effect is gone, Dragon Age is in shambles and the RMS TORtanic lies at the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean. If this isn't going to be the coup de grace to Bioware I don't know what is.

Well based on that interview I can say for sure that moron doesn't just not get what Ultima was as a franchise he has a burning seething contempt for it.

Is anyone else tired of watching their childhood be raped by companies just pushing out garbage products to make a quick buck? I know I am.

Not content with destroying Origin systems, now you're destroying their intellectual property, this crosses the bloody line. I give up, make all the crap you want, i'm not touching your dumbed down, illogical cutesy swill any longer.

My confidence isn't exactly high but then again Ultima pretty much died thanks to Ultima 8 and 9. Still enjoy the older games though =D

Well, it's literally impossible for it to get any worse than Ultima 9. At worst it'll simply hold position, at best it might be better.

And the banner I am now seeing on the BSN, with the "DERP DERP! AVATARRRR!" warrior class on there is not doing anything to assuage my concerns.

It looks like they are marketing this to 12 year olds who don't know squat about the Ultima series, but recognize the name. Because it is now hip to like things from the 80's I guess, if Old Navy and their retro T-shirts can be believed.

They actually think this is going to quell the discontent with Bioware and EA? The opposite is more likely to occur.

Even I think thats stupid.
I may not be the biggest fan of tactical rpgs but the complete oposite is usually even more boring.

Why does alot of these bs criticisms of tactical RPG's state that the combat is so difficult and 'mind numbing'? LOL. Sure there were stats and modifiers, but to make it seem as if the combat was some arcane thing which the poor average gamer couldn't be able to work out is a joke. Actual combat was for the most part simple to execute, either click on the enemy or select an attack from a list and the computer does the rest..It's not like you have to be some math wizard to get it. I suck at math and love those games. What's the problem here? That you have to work out what attacks, weapons, spells work best? That's the real 'problem' with old RPG's isn't it, ? That you actually had to think a little during combat encounters instead of clickety fn click! Right, "OH NO!, IT'S THAC0! Run boy and girls, Its gonna make our brain hurt!"
