There are files associated with the new mods in the Extended Cut DLC.
So does this mean we are required to download the EC to be able to play the upcoming Earth DLC?

Why would one NOT download the EC?

Why don't you have EC, it's free so what's the problem?

I'm just curious if we need to download a near 2GB file to be able to play the next DLC.
That's all.

Parts of the files that might be associated with "Earth" are probably within the EC.

We did find out about new gear and mods thanks to people going through files when EC was released.

So yeah I would say it is in your best interest to do so.

Best interests indeed.

However unless they confirm new mods are being dropped with the DLC which they haven't yet, it is unlikely. So far only weapons, maps, characters, and a difficulty have been confirmed. Not new weapon mods.

Why do they put data from one DLC into the files of another? Is there any reason this makes sense except guerilla marketing?

I don't see why you would need to. But do it anyway.

I don't have it yet because I haven't finished the SP story, and I kinda want to see the "original" ending.

It's just taking me forever.

I'm sure the MP-DLC will be independent of the EC; existence of additional stuff in the EC files is most likely just for guerrilla marketing and nothing else.

Hope not, I removed EC since it was taking up space and in the end serves no practical use.

You people are indirectly complaining about disk space in a time when a 2TB disk costs about $60.

Not everyone has fast or even unlimited internet.

I guess you're right, I tend to overlook consoles since I made it a point to never have to do anything with them in my life... Mostly for reasons like this.
I don't actually have an unlimited internet connection most of the times though, but I can at least bring the stuff back home from wherever I can download it:whistle:

As for TC's question, I doubt that would be the case. It would be foolish of Bioware to require a 2GB download for a few little weapon mods. From the sound of it, the mods found in the EC were not complete anyway; some of them seemed to double up on existing mods, for example. My guess is they were just some WIP files that got caught up in the EC stuff.

Hopefully it won't require the EC but that is why i started this topic to see whether or not we will need to download 2GB just for a few mod files that are included so that we can play the upcoming DLC.

Hopefully there is some sort of official response from Bioware will answer this.

Well, it is only 2GB after all.
They haven't confirmed whether the files found in the EC will appear in the multi-player, so you'll have to wait til they confirm it.

You shouldn't need EC, DLC are optional content.
If Bioware think you need an update, they release a new patch.

The file mentionned for future DLC in EC is may be linked for the EC to work with it if you buy the other DLC, (may be 1 new slide show for the ending mentioning the dlc you have played).

EC likely had MP mods that were not yet finished but people into a branch of assets EC had. I find it doubtful, the ones found were just included mistakenly.
