I read on the forum a lot of people would like a continuation of the story arc mages vs templars.

Personally I rather have a new story arc with new personalities/problems to solve not at all related to DA2 problems/story arc.

Any one else feel the same?

I admit I am a DOA fan and rather forget the whole DA2 game.  I wouldn't mind cameo's if must be.  I also hope the followers are a bit more mature because I couldn't relate to them in DA2 because they were so infantile presented.  I perceeved them written for young teens insted of adults wich I don't mind persé if stated clearly.  Otherwise the word "adult" is different interpreted in North America then it is in Europe although I perceeved DAO for adults and DA2 most certainly not.  I never understood the 18+ rating on the box!  For me besides maybe the story arc problem "mages vs templars" there was nothing adult in the game.

Dragon Age 2 give me all the Mage/Templar stuff I want to see.

The Orlaisan civil war is what interests me.

Aw, you'll probably get your wish twice over. Once between the nobles and again because the Templar/Mage issue is essentially also about the Chantry fighting within itself - something that will definitely destabilize the way political power is distributed in Orlais.

It's gonna be a big ol' mess and I can't wait to run around in it.
