This thing could do 10000 points damage. 4 seconds to charge? and then aiming a narrow beam on a Phantom or Nemesis? Maybe if you're using a mouse, probably. But a game pad?

Edit: And in my experience, games that didn't balance around the highest levels of play didn't last long. I'm glad that things are balanced around gold play, and if that means things are very strong or OP or brokenly OP in the lower tiers (i.e. bronze), then so be it. When you don't balance around the highest levels of play or the hardest difficulty, then you get games with severe pidgeon holing of character/class/build/gear/whatever.


I'm quoting this guy because I have this gun in mutilplayer and I have tested this gun in game. It does take 30 rounds to activate charge mode which means you get quite  the damage dealer with extended mags!

So it does pathetic damage, is heavy, you need to charge it for a few seconds to do maximum damage and the reload time is really long.

Seems like a good weapon, looking forward to unlocking it. Oh wait. It actually sounds like a super heavy geth smg with a long reload time that's also an ultra rare :/

Also the whole ''unlimited ammo'' thing is not really much of a benefit unless you're playing condor. It's not exacly hard to refill ammo in this game.

This gun shounds to be the Master Tactician's weapon since it pushes you to priotize the first 4 seconds of the burst at weaker units, finally attacking bigger foes once the gun is primed.

Unlimited ammo sounds like a welcome perk as well.

Being chained to an ammo box doesn't seem like a very masterful tactic to me.

It is very easy to get more ammo on this game. I've never felt chained to ammo boxes as long as I stay mobile. Plus, if you use the Harrier conservatively, you are still getting a ton of damage per trip to the ammo box.

Double uncharge damage, make charge multiplier x2 instead of x4 so it stays the same, make the weight [1.75 - 1.25] instead of [2.0 - 1.4]

when I first used it I thought it was good, now it works well 1 in 3 matches maybe I have a glitch occurring while I use it?

I like this idea as well. There are many ways to approach the issue.

Whenever I used it in single player the gun would often glitch and not reload.  Is that happening in MP?  Just curious as I don't have the gun yet.  (PS3, as I don't know if that glitch is console related or not)

Yep.

Lucius likes it but he had to specialize a specific character to accommodate it.  It does poorly on 99% of classes and okay on a few, but even those few would be better served by taking the harrier.

Firebase Condor would like a word.

And I'm not saying it is hard to get ammo normally, but when you are pinned down, whether it be during a hack or in a favorite camping spot, your Harrier is going to be depleted before you see the first boss tier enemy fall. That is not an issue the Particle Rifle needs to deal with.

I don't get it. Don't people remember there's thermal clips in this game for emergencies? If its an emergency every wave, then maybe going down a level should be considered

I was thinking very much along these lines--some combination of a boost to "cold" damage, a weight reduction, and a possible reduction in charge time (meaning number of rounds to charge).

The Graal and GPS charge for 2s; 30 rounds in "cold" mode would work out to 2.25s.

DPS should be doubled initially and doubled again after 25 rounds and it would be decent. 4x multiplier 4 seconds in is too back-weighted

So we actually get a Bioware post that says it does not twice, but FOUR TIMES the damage in High-power mode, and yet most people still think it sucks because it has a charge mechanic?

BSN, impossibru to please. Just wait until this gun is buffed to meet your standards of "good", it becomes the best weapon in the game by far (4 PPR's on Platnium), and then gets nerfed into the ****ing ground. That's League of Legends balancing all right.

I pray I unlock this weapon in MP before it gets the Krysae treatment (I unlocked that the day before it was nerfed).

I posted this in another thread yesterday.... I think the hyper beam should not require consistent firing. If the gun begins it's recharge at all, the hyper beam resets.

I've still not used the gun. Saving for the DLC. I didn't realize it did that in SP.
