Just a quick question guys.
What
happens after priorty curing the genophage if Garrus is dead, who
speaks to you in the war room with victus and tells you to get some
rest?

Also if Thane is dead who contacts Joker from the cididel?

I can bring myself to play a whole playthrough of Garrus being dead, or thane, I got to many feels for them.

Anyone got video footage?

If Thane is dead already, or wasn't talked to before the coup, Kirrahe takes his place, although I'm not sure if he contacts you en route or not.

In the war room it's Traynor that speaks to you instead of Garrus.

Traynor orders Shep to sleep instead of Garrus and Bailey contacts Joker.

Joker picks up a general broadcast instead of talking with thane during the citadel coup. Samantha Traynor speaks to you instead of Garrus. Which can be a bit funny if it is a femshep.
The playthrough without Garrus was difficult, I couldn't bring myself to go anywhere near the main batteries.

ALMOST enough of a reason to kill off Garrus in a playthrough.  ALMOST.

(I kid, I kid.  Garrus is too much of a bro.  Thank goodness for YT.)

Garrus dead? Well prepare for...the exact same game as if Garrus is alive. Basically, you just talk to different people when you would get a Garrus line that's plot-relevant.

Remember how Garrus tells you that he's been helping the turians prepare for the Reapers ever since the Normandy was grounded by the Alliance? Turns out, if Garrus is dead, the turians are EXACTLY AS PREPARED as they would be if Garrus is alive. Strike one, Vakarian. And it turns out Garrus' help finding Victus isn't necessary either. Strike two, Vakarian. And every other aspect of ME3 that involves Garrus plays out in an identical fashion as far as events and consequences go, you simply get the intel from a different source. So what is Garrus relevance in ME3? None at all. His only purpose is to be your "bro". So, if that sort of thing is important to you, enjoy Garrus for that reason, and try not to think about the fact that his absence doesn't adversely affect the mission in any way.

If Thane is dead, but Kirrahe is alive, Kirrahe takes a bullet for the Salarian Councilor during the Cerberus Coup. If they're both dead, the Salarian Councilor is killed by Kai Leng. That's it.

Yeah, Garrus doesn't really need to be there, nor need to be replaced by upping the presence of any major side characters like Tali is replaced by two other quarian admirals. People from the squad simply fill in wherever he was, like Liara on Palaven or Traynor elsewhere.

I've had all three versions of the Councilor attack. Kirrahe filling in is a bit weak, would have liked a bit more action for him before his end. As is, he just comes out of cloak (surprise!) and gets shot.

You get the cutest smile ever from Liara on Palaven if Garrus is dead that's good enough for me. ;p

In all seriousness Garrus has no impact on the story whatsoever so it doesn't really matter if he's dead or alive. Hell you don't even have to do his loyalty mission in ME2. He just follows you around like usual.

Tali does have a specific dialogue regarding Garrus before Earth if he is dead tho. "Scoped and dropped".

Hey Garrus had some of the best bromance moments ever. And from what I saw on YouTube he was a good romance. Cut bioware some slack, they are the first people to try the import games thing, and they didn't do a terrible job, even though they found it extremly hat to implement.

If Garrus is missing there are a couple little asides while walking like Liara and Shep quickly referencing how Garrus would have brought the fight to the Reapers on Palaven. And Tali at the end reminisces with Shep about how Garrus would have liked to be in the fight, if one bothers to go to the back of the crew deck at the end.

Similarly, while walking to the Dreadnought solo Shep says Tali would have loved to see Rannoch. Mostly little asides where it would seem wrong NOT to reference the lost character.

Thane alive/dead doesn't have any plot impact either :( *sigh*
At least Garrus can be a squadmate if he's alive.
