OK, this is really starting to hack me off. I play as a Krogan more often than not, and I get that they have far lass agility than other classes. But seriously, the amount of times when I have run past a Banshee and then had to watch, and 5 seconds later, my Krogan starts, completly beyond my control, moving backwards (often around a corner) into the arms of a Banshee, who then stabs him.

Is anyone else having this problem?

INDOCTRINATION BEAM!

You will run back to me and I will rip your head off!

Nowhere near as bad as invincible Geth Hunters and Rocket Troopers that launch 8 missiles in 5 seconds while in stasis.

Everyone has this problem, Bioware basically says they can't figure out a good way to fix it. It's most likely here to stay forever. Just remember, if you wouldn't touch a banshee with a 10-foot pole, she can still touch you with her 15-foot pole. Keep your distance, 'cause prayers won't stop those boney fingers from giving your chest a new breathing hole.

I usually start saying NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and sometimes it lets me go.

But yeah, just try to keep your distance. Always have an escape route.

I hate to say it, but fighting a Banshee close-up as a non Vanguard Krogan just seems too risky. Instead, I try to contribute to the fight by eliminating the annoying Marauders and Cannibals that would otherwise pick off my team mates as they engage the Banshee at medium range. Maybe playing as host could help a little? As in, reducing the tractor beam range from 15 feet to 12.

Don't run past them.  It's just the server catching up and noticing that you got grabbed as you ran past.  The same thing happens if you when you grab enemies on a laggy server.  They get sucked back in front of you.

This is cause of the really strange animation they use. If you had to be right in front of the banshee, it would be as scary as an atlas.
It's an unfortunate side effect, but I don't know if it'll get fixed. The hit box is larger than normal to compensate, and lag makes it worse too.

yup. best bet is to dodge past them and even that is iffy. they aren't meant to rfight at close range since they have the upper hand there. at a range they really can't do much to you (espicially a vorcha) which is why the have to charge you.

Problem i think is if you rnu past them and the game decides in that split second taht your gonna die, nothing can sva eyou, you will get sucked in. you can still interupt a OHK though. yesterday i seen a teammate baout to get picke dup and smashed her then when he was picked up i charged and she dropped him

It's just a lag. Banshees especily do this .. together with their warping the can merge with your OLD location and 'can I grab it ?' will simply be true. The tractor beam is just a way of adjusting location where you are with the fact that banshee grabbed you on another spot.
Be warned, Phantoms know the trick too, but since they don't move that much fast, it does not happen that much.
Simply hold larger distance. It's not intended behavior, but it would not be easily fixed.

I find that when you are near a banshee your chances of surviving are actually higher if you start to headbutt her (not heavy melee) in the face rather than running. Sometimes she will even grab some other player who kept his distance while you do it. It's like the game is rewarding you for being stupid.

I didn't know singleplayer can lag too... she grabbed my Shepard 4 meters away... so it's not just lag, it's more likely bad programming.

Just do enough damage to her so she doesnt have her glowing barrier around her. She doesnt ever instakill anybody ive seen when she doesnt have her glowing barrier. Do all the headbutts you want after, then move the hell back when she shrieks, as this act will rechage the glowing barrier. Have people never figured this out before? Try it!

That, and Biotic explosions cause her to drop team mates. You should always have 2 biotics when knowingly fighting Reapers for chewing through armor and stoping insta-kills. Or, if your scared a teammate will be grabbed, and can't cause a biotic explosion, rockets do the same thing. It's simple matter of hitting her before the 'Bleed Out' message is shown.

Shooting them with Harrier with Adrenaline Rush on does the same trick. Any damage will do.

Simple melee does that too sometimes (Have seen Krogan, Batarian, Asari do it)

Being a host doesn't help at all. Banshees don't give a **** about it and drag you even if you sneak behind them as a host.

As long as you have a dodge, Banshees can't grab you ~85% of the time. For Batarians, Krogans, and Turians, however, being on the same half of the map as a Banshee is a good way to die.

Run, run! And expect to be cheaply grabbed. It is part of the burden the "tough" characters must bear.

She got me twice in the same game. As least the phantom has to be in melee range.

Very true, banshees don't give a **** about anything (except rockets). Also notice how her teleport distance can change, sometimes you can get away from her just by walking yet sometimes even adrenaline mod won't help you, she will just teleport (trough a wall if neded) and grab you. There are some videos on youtube which show this very clearly. They seem to be even more agressive when you are alone.
