Rachni: Alive
Tuchanka: Genophage Cured, Wrex, Grunt, and Eve alive
Liara T'soni: Alive
Geth/Quarian: Peace, but...
Ending: Destroy
Batarians: Depleted but recovering
Humans: Far from it
Galactic Government: Fractured
Overall Galactic Situation: recovering in Council Space, thriving in Terminus and Attican traverse.
Major Wars: 1, After the Krogan genophage was cured, the Salarians quickened their uplift of the Yhag to counteract growing Krogan strength. It went about as well as you would expect, and the Salarians were taken down a notch until Allied intervention. Afterwards, the Yhag homeworld was quarantined and the Yhag offworld have become mercenaries and outlaws much like the Krogan before them.
Asari: With Thesia destroyed and the secret of the beacon uncovered, the Asari lost their position as top dogs. However, their long lifespans and personal fortunes means they were not thrown to the wayside. After the war, the Asari deemed their fractured democratic system was too inneficient to counter threats, and formed a unified republic. The Republic helped stabalize the colonies, but there are still many Asari who long for the glory days where their race was supreme. Despite some opposition to the new way of things, the Asari are still a force to be rekoned with, and retain their power as a council species.
Turians: At Earth the Turians sustained heavy losses, but what they lost they more than made up for in good-will. As one of the first species to join the Alliance, Turians and Humans now enjoy a close bond between eachother, and the First Contact War is but a memory. As the premier military power of the Galaxy, the fleet was quickly rebuilt, but domestic problems continue to hinder Turian recovery. Palaven was one of the hardest hit homeworlds, and the use of Nuclear weapons against the Reapers did serious harm to the environment. As a result, the Turians sought to colonize new planets. Unfortunately, the reapers hit their colonies as well, and there were few dextro based planets in council space. They initially wanted some of the previously unclaimed Terminus worlds, but this was met with political opposition by the Quarians who had already begun large scale colonization of the area.
Salarians: The post war world looked promising for the Salarians. Their worlds were among the least hit, only suffering reaper troops near the very end. As a result, reconstruction was relatively fast, and the Salarians did not hesitate to transfer their recovered industrial base into military power. Being the planners that they were, they saw the expansion of the Krogan as a serious threat, and a renewed Krogan War was too high a probability to inore. Unfortunately, to counteract this, they excellerated plans for uplifting the Yhag. As a result, the Yhag were trained to be fearsome ground troops, but the Salarians underestimated the Yhag resourcefulness, and whent he Yhag seized a seizable number of vessels in orbit of their homeworld, war broke out. The rest of the galaxy initially left the Salarians on their own, as they were both seen as bullies and the Krogan promised no help wold be given once they realized what the purpose of the uplifted Yhag was. Only once the Yhag struck Sur'Kesh did the rest of the galaxy retaliate, and against such might the Yhag were easily beaten back into submission.
Humans: Humans are universally loved by all species, but most humans wish they could be any other species. Despite being the unifying force behind the alliance that destroyed the reapers and the driving force for the Crucible, humans have fallen on hard times. Earth fell fast and the casualty rate was astounding. Unlike other species with established colonies, Earth's colonies had only a few with populations in the low millions. With such a loss of life, recovery has been slow, but the humans are nothing if not persistent. The grateful allies gave humanity rights to several garden wars as thanks, and human political influence remains strong, as the Alliance military remains strong. Despite all this hardship, the worst is behind humanity, as reconstruction is nearing completion and they are looking towards the future with hope.
Krogan: The population boom after the genophage cure was astounding, and despite colonies granted by the council space, the Krogan were breeding too fast. Luckily, the Legendary Krogan leader Urdnot Wrex waged a successful social campaign to slow the krogan birthrate, which while largely successful still left the Krogan with too many mouths to feed. Even with new colonies, the Krogan needed more garden worlds, and for a short while people feared war with the starving Krogan only 15 years after the Reapers. As luck would have it, a solution was reached by an unlikely ally that would shape galactic politics for the years to come. As it would happen, the Quarians knew of several garden worlds within the Terminus systems from the time of their exile, but after the fiasco at Ekuna, they chose not to reveal them to the Council. The Quarians themselves had no use for these planets, as they were levo based, but the Krogans were in desperate need. Soon an agreement was reached between the two emerging species and the Quarians and Krogan agreed to settle the Terminus systems together. The Quarians would settle the Dextro Worlds, while the Krogan would settle the Levo worlds, and since the Krogan lacked the necessary ships, the Quarian Navy (formally Migrant Fleet) would provide transportation while Krogan might would scare off pirates and brigands in the system. After this initial alliance, Krogan and Quarian have become very close over the past 85 years, and their incredible success with untouched colonies in the Terminus has angered some of the more established species that are still struggling to rebuild the damage the reapers caused.
Quarians: Unlike the majority of species, the Quarians actually gained worlds insead of losing them during the Reaper war. In the short time the Geth remained alive, they helped to build the basics of a sustainable colony on Rannoch, which thankfully saved the majority of the Migrant Fleet from being used for materials. Despite these advantages, the initial years of life on Rannoch was difficult. With the majority of the fleet stranded on Earth and the immense distance between the planets, it took the Quarians almost 10 years to use what resources they had to rebuild the relay network to Earth, 5 years longer than most other species. However, once they were reconnected to the relay network, they thrived. Their largely intact fleet was able to move people to and from colonies, and with the return of adequate medical care, their population exploded. While the adults had to reajust to the homeworld, the children who were born there never had to know a suit, since the week immune system was a result of the sterile ships that were no longer their homes. 100 years after the Reapers, the Quarians are looking to soon pass the 1 billion population marker. With their alliance with the Krogan in the Terminus system, things are looking very bright for the Quarians.
Geth: While the Geth may have died after the activation of the Crucible, their legacy remains. Quarians on Rannoch were able to reproduce the algorithms used to acclimate their immune system, which while not ale to save everyone, significantly reduced the amount of times survivors had to wear their suits and saved countless lives. Furthermore, their bodies proved invaluable in the rebuilding effort on Earth and beyond, as simple VI programs were able to take control of the bodies for reconstruction purposes. The stigma against AI has also lifted somewhat Though AI creation remains illegal in most cases, new law states so called "accidental" AI's are not to be deactivated immediately (as was previous policy) but rather communicated with first. Also, while offcial records say that the Geth all perished during the crucible events, in recent years it was announced that the Quarians had uncovered fortified bunkers of Geth servers on Rannoch. It is currently unknown what data is in these servers, but the Quarian government recently announced the "Korris Initiative" to try and recover any Geth that might have survived the purge.
Batarians: After losing their homeworld and almost their entire population, the Batarians species ooked like it would soon collapse. Thankfully that did not happen in no small part to new leadership. The old Caste system was soon abolished, as most high caste members died on the homeworld, while the colonial slaves were saved the worst of the destruction. The Batarian remnant's valiant efforts against the reapers also allowed the rest of the galaxy to partially forgive their past beligerence and restore their old colonies. Times were initially tough, but they soon found a trade partner in the Krogan, who needed raw materials for their rapid expansion. The economic partnership with the Krogan naturally expanded to dealing with the Quarians as well, who knew firsthand the kind of pain the Batarians were going through having lost so many people. The Batarians are still struggling with their new democracy, and their quality of life is still below average, but these descendants of slaves are fierce in their devotion to make a better future for their people.
Galactic Setting: The Galaxy remains technically peaceful but there are tensions building. The Krogan and Quarians control the Terminus system and are prospering while the council systems still are recovering a century after the reapers. Turians remain the most militarily powerful, but the Alliance and Quarian fleets rival it like they never could have in its heyday thanks in no small part to reverse engineering of reaper tech by the humans and Quarians. Tensions remain high between the Salarians and Krogan, especially after the Yhag invasion. Though the Krogan refrained from outright war thanks to the work of Wrex and Eve, there has been tension ever since, with people wondering what will be the straw to break the camels back.
Basically, what race you decide to play as would determine what side of the Terminus/Council side you play on. I would imagine any game would focus on your attempt to prevent war from starting between any of the species, eg. Krogan v. Salarians/concil Quarians v. Turians over dextro worlds, etc. There wouldn't really be any threat on the scale of reapers, so it would be a more personal story, getting to know the races and how they interact with eachother, and trying to save as many as possible. Nothing can top the reapers in scope, but everyone would now have reverse engineered reapers tech, and some more than others (Humans and Quarians), which would make for interesting battles. Well, anyways, thats my ME4 setting for the given criteria, hope y'all enjoyed
