Hi,

I have a problem with finding facial textures for Hawke. Both male and female versions. Where I can find it?

I really need them.

I also have a request:

Can somebody tell me where in the game files I can find all models and textures? For example NPCs.

I have extracted artfp.erf but not everything is there.

What I can do to keep the file names while extracting textures from DLC, e.g. from Legacy. I use gff4editor-1.0 but it changes the names to e.g. 0e3c8b93d7f26c58.

Where I can find textures and model of the character created in the beginning of the game?

Where I can find Fenris glowing tattoos effects?

Thanks for your help.

Yours :D

Well, my modding knowledge is limited so...
Models and textures? You mean like their mor files and dds textures? If figured those would be in the Artfp so I'm not sure why you aren't getting them all. Mor files are in "Face"

Have you checked this thread? http://social.biowar...7/index/6970703 (it's stickied and everything)

I know my resources are translated from numbers to legible words. But I started using the editor last year, so i don't remember what I used.
Legacy might be different because it's DLC. I can't extract anything from there (I want Janeka's .mor!!)

"Where I can find textures and model of the character created in the beginning of the game?"--I have no idea what you mean by that.

Yes.

I have no idea what you mean by that.

I mean my characters, for example, this:

Do you mean… skin textures? Hawke has no specific textures. They share their textures with every NPC from the game (including dwarves and elves). In fact, the vanilla skins available for your characters in the Character Creator are (in this order):

- female skin texture (mt_hed_fema_0d.dds)
- child skin texture (mt_hed_kida_0d.dds)
- male skin texture (mt_hed_masa_0d.dds)
- dwarf skin texture (mt_hed_dwfa_0d.dds)
- qunari skin texture (mt_hed_quna_0d.dds)

All of them are located in the artfp.erf: art\\characters\\playercharacter\\shared\\heads\\textures

You will also find unique skin textures in there, such as Zombie Mother (mt_hed_zbm_0d.dds), the Tranquil skin (mt_hed_trqa_0d.dds), etc.

I remember female Hawke having an unique skin texture in the demo files, but it was scrapped in the final version of the game. I still have it if you're interested. Basically it's just the female skin with the blood smear in "high" resolution (compared to the tattoo slot I mean).

Can somebody tell me where in the game files I can find all models and textures? For example NPCs.

Can you elaborate? I'm not sure to understand what you want exactly. Most of the textures are in the artfp.erf. If you're looking for some textures such as the icons and other things, they are elsewhere.

As for the models… What do you mean? Morph files or body files (armors, outfits…)? Morph files are in face.erf, as Alexandrine Delassixe told you already. The bodies meshes are uh... in models.erf I believe.

What I can do to keep the file names while extracting textures from DLC, e.g. from Legacy. I use gff4editor-1.0 but it changes the names to e.g. 0e3c8b93d7f26c58.

Sorry, there is nothing we can do about this. The files from the main game have names when you extract them because the people who worked on the gff editor programmed it to be able to "recognize" the names (…or something like that). But they had to do it one by one, and for every single file. As far I know it has never been done for the two DLC.

I did it myself for Mark of the Assassin though. Extracted the most important stuff and renamed the files manually (took me a while <_<). I already sent you the renamed files in the past, didn't I?

Where I can find textures and model of the character created in the beginning of the game?

No textures are created when you start the game. Your character uses one of the 5 skin textures I listed. Were you talking about your own Hawke's face? If you want to create a morph file of your custom Hawke, you can do it with the gff editor:

1. Open your save game (das file located in Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\Characters folder).

2. Open "SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR" (line 16002), "SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR" (line 16208), "SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE" (line 16320), and finally (near the bottom) "SAVEGAME_PLAYER_MORPH" (line 16950).

3. A weird wall of text appears at the bottom of the window. Right click on the wall of text and click "Export to file". Give the name you want for your custom morph (example: custom_hawke.mor) and save it.

Note that you can also import your characters faces (and even NPC) in another save. Instead of clicking on "Export to file", click on "Import from file" and select a morph you created before or a morph from a NPC (located in the face.erf archive). With this method the morph won't reset when you reach Act 2 and 3. The only problem is the mirror at Black Emporium. It resets your face for some reasons.

Where I can find Fenris glowing tattoos effects?

The texture? Or the file for the effect itself?

The texture is located in art\\vfx\\textures\\vfx_fenris_glow.dds

Well I don't know exactly what you plan to do with it but there is a mod that improves Fenris' glowing effect: Improved Fenris Glow (by zombiezer0). Perhaps you could contact the modder if you have questions.

Hope that helps.

You need some exe file that allows the gff editor to open DLC archives. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link here anyway... Here's Janeka morph if you want (it's just a mor file so I don't think it's illegal to share, right?).

As for the models… What do you mean?

I search models of objects, for example Cassandra book .

Sorry, there were only female Hawke skin in the demo files (you can use it on male Hawke though, he will simply look younger). Also, the eyebrows are included in the skin texture. It can be weird if your Hawke has eyebrows already.

femHawke skin texture

I search models and textures NPC, for example, servants, magicians etc.

I think I get it. You want the body meshes and textures.

Textures and meshes are both located in artfp.erf (and NOT in models.erf, my mistake).

Male human bodies: art\\characters\\playercharacter\\humanmale (meshes are here)\\textures (textures are here)
Female human bodies: art\\characters\\playercharacter\\humanfemale\\textures
Elves are located in "elf(fe)male" and dwarves are in "dwarfmale" folders. Simple.

Last thing: the references. To identify the body meshes you need to know their name. Check this thread made by OrientalisDraco: [Resource] Armour Reference List
You have a picture of each armor with the texture and mesh name. S\\he did an amazing job.

There is also this reference thread made by Gordulan. And while I'm at it, here is the one for weapons.

I search models of objects, for example Cassandra book .

I see.
Cassandra's book is in artfp.erf, I suppose you will find many other items here. Check the names, they help a bit.

Anyway, for Cassandra:

Closed book texture: art\\levels\\4cinematics\\ferelden\\_textures\\ prp_bookofinquisition_dp
Open book texture: art\\levels\\4cinematics\\ferelden\\_textures\\ prp_bookinquisb_d

Don't forget that all textures have several "layers". Meaning you also need these dds files (same folder):

prp_bookofinquisition_n

prp_bookinquisb_n
prp_bookofinquisition_sa
prp_bookinquisb_sa

The number of textures varies so always check if you got every of them. I'm bad at explaining, you should read the Toolset Wiki about texture formats.

And finally the meshes for Cassandra's book:

Book mmh: art\\levels\\4cinematics\\ferelden\\bookinquisb.mmh
Book msh: art\\levels\\4cinematics\\ferelden\\bookinquisb.msh

Anything else?

Let me start from the beginning.

I work with XNA Lara. I usually work with models I download from the internet.

This is one of my works:

Posted Image

Unfortunately, there is still little models that I like and need.

I use Blender 249 and 249.2.

I've downloaded the "import-dragon-age-2-2011-03-26" script that should import mhh and msh files, but I encounter many problems with it.

I cannot create a proper file for XNA Lara. For example: I wanted to import the Templar set but its bones look different than the ones in the model. After the import to XNA Lara I can only turn the set around because of the bones mismatching the model.

The other problem I try to tackle is the error with statues. After the import of the Andrasta statue it does not have the UV and I'm getting the error. I have the texture but it lacks the UV. Can you tell me how to make the UV using a proper texture?

I'm doing it for the first time and I don't know how to do it. Maybe one of you will help?

Do you know how to process the Mor file to extract textures, models, bones, etc.? Other way they cannot be imported with the Blender script.

I worked with it for over a week. Please help.

Looks nice!

You could try asking in the Origins toolset forum maybe too. I'm sure there are modders and more tech savvy people that might be familiar with that kind of stuff, even if you're working with Dragon Age 2 resources.

I work with XNA Lara and the Blender, but I miss models and textures from Dragon Age and Dragon Age II.

I have found models and textures made by Sir Croft in the Internet, unfortunately I cannot find the textures he used.

Maybe you know, in which erf file there are textures and of faces, brows and hair of Alistair, Cullen, Avelina. Wassley model and the other NPCs?

I have found mor files, but I cannot open them.

Do you know how to open msh from Dragon Age 1? Since I can not open. Mhh works, but not msh files. Do you have another script?

Please, help me. You're my only hope.
