It's nice to see misogyny is alive and well at BioWare, still in 2012.

Typical Marine insult actaully, The Narrator is clearly Vega's CO at the time
Also Dual wielding AR and Pistol for the win
and that Krogan is pretty much Kenpachi in Space

Looks like a mixture between a Krogan and Bruce Campbell if he were a pirate.

I feel a little odd for having liked Vega so much given how much he appears to be disliked by others. I was a bit let down he wasn't introduced earlier in the series and would have liked to pursue him as a LI. I honestly felt like he was the first human character my Shep would have had a natural connection with. He just "felt" right. I don't really know how to express my reaction to his character but there was a lot of potential. Had he been around since the beginning, my team would have been him and Garrus.

Could it have something to do with pushing for Vega to be the protagonist in whatever half-arsed, watered down, Gears of War rip-off they intend for the next game in the Mass Effect universe to be?
Marcus Fenix, anyone?
I don't see why not. We already use the Hammer of Dawn to kill a Destroyer as it is.

But ME3 is so watered down, to water it down more? ... you'd.... just have water.

Vega? Really?
TIM, Liara, or Anderson would have been better.
I'm guessing it's because he's relatively untouched in other media. TIM had his comics, Anderson was in the novels, and Liara is Liara-- tons of background, including her mother from ME1. Vega represents a relatively clean slate... which is about the best thing you can say about him, perhaps.
That's true. Perhaps they're doing this since they've seen all the negativity in him playing a role that would be better suited to an old ME2 squaddie. I don't hate the character myself but he's not really an interesting character.

I really liked him too, he just gave off such a 'bro' vibe. He gets too much hate on here.

It's sad because I kind of liked the idea of a Mass Effect anime. Maybe this would be a little different then the game, maybe make Kai Leng a better villain and Vega a more likeable character?
And judging by the trailer it certainely doesn't look like a Batman Gotham Knight, so I'm not interested.
