After knowing Vega better during ME3, I really like him as a character.

I do NOT, however, like japanese animatio. So I'll probably skip this.

This!

I like James. A lot. And I'm definitely interested in his background. Also glad the same guy as in ME3 is doing his voice.
But I hate the anime style. A lot. Already seeing how James looks on that poster makes me lose all interest....

You know, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to not be ashamed in having people know I'm a Mass Effect fan.

So that trailer has krogan that look barely anything like krogan, soldiers dual-wielding pistols and soldiers running forward guns blazing.

Yeah, this looks terrible.

Bioware chose this style in ME3.
Like Duncan said in DA:O "There is no way going back".

Vega? Really?

TIM, Liara, or Anderson would have been better.

I'm guessing it's because he's relatively untouched in other media.  TIM had his comics, Anderson was in the novels, and Liara is Liara-- tons of background, including her mother from ME1.  Vega represents a relatively clean slate... which is about the best thing you can say about him, perhaps.

There's also the probability that Vega didn't tell Shepard everything that happened in his encounter with the Collectors.

Also why does everybody hate him just for being new?

Vega is funny, tough, and pretty deep once you get to know him.

And considering that EVERYBODY from your squad in ME2 can die, we shouldn't expect them to have a larger story presence in ME3 than they got, otherwise ME3 would be hindered by the lack of their presence. If they're dead, you have no one to build a party with except Ashley/Kaidan, Liara, and EDI(unless you have From Ashes which gives Javik.) Vega gives you a tank equivalent to a Krogan

Because they outright stated he was added for the "new shooty crowd" they want to attract to find somebody to appeal to them, coupled with his very typical chest-high wall-stereoid-junkie-space-marine shooting game apperance. I thought he was a pretty decent character, though I was more pleasantly surprised than awed by him. Add to that 99% of people reading a guide on how to get every squaddie through the Suicide Mission alive and they are understandably bitter his spot could have been used for an ME2 (or even 1) squaddie who instead got a five minute cameo.

Who cares? Every character embodies different qualities to attract different players. Vega is no different. They also shaped him to somewhat resemble how a new player would act when ME was first played.

Vega also doesn't take steroids, he's a body builder, like Jacob was.

And your old squad got more than "five minute cameos." Mordin, Legion, Jacob, Thane, Jack, and Miranda contradict your claim. Not to mention the talk over the comm you get during Priority: Earth.

Also you act like its difficult to get everyone out alive in the Suicide Mission. Get all the ship uprades; easy. Do everyones' loyalty missions; easy. Send Tali as tech expert, Garrus or MIranda as Fire Team leader, Mordin as crew escort, Jack or Samara as Biotic specialist; all easy. And leave behind your heavy hitters and take the frailest but loyal crewmembers to fight Human Reaper; easy. I know the pattern like the back of my hand.

Plus, if someone slipped up and Garrus, Tali, and any other potential ME2 squaddie died, you'd be stuck playing ME3 with only Ashley/Kaidan, EDI, Liara, and Javik. Some fresh blood was necessary, whether you like it or not.

Wow, this is a prequel to ME3. Can anyone tell me what happens in the end? Anyone? The suspense is killing me.

Vega-I hated him at first because it was so stupid to build up a team of people I liked and then really not see them again and then get Vega and Cortes. I ended up liking them ok, but still wanted to see more of the people I cared about already.

Even though Vega called my Shepard Lola and I ended up liking him, this is totally uninteresting and adds nothing to the story. I don't want back story on people when I know what happens to them. And if I did, I'd certainly rather have it in game than in Anime.

Mordin and Legion and Garrus get more than 5 minutes.  The rest are not even around throughout most of the missions you have with them-you can't count from the moment you first say "hi" and then "goodbye".  Miranda comes and talks with Shepard and tells Shepard not much and then doesn't need Shepard's help and then when they have a mission together they aren't together on it.  Basically the same with Jack-you really don't have much meaningful dialogue with Jack-a bit here and there, then some fighting and you may meet on the Citadel and she will say you're a bad dancer and then she's gone.  Thane has some great moments, but he too is gone quickly.  Zaeed and Kasumi are just a joke really.  And so is Samara-you see her at the monastery and then fight separately from her and keep her from killing herself and then b.. bye.

Personally, I believe that Vega was brought in as a counterpoint to the appearance of Ashley and more so Allers.  But the odd thing is he isn't a love interest.  Why then bring him in?  He's there in all his muscular glory to make up for the cheapened appearance of Ashley (and I like Ashley) and especially the show it all Allers.  Why is she even wearing clothing at all?

What is the point, really? Who really cares about Vega's back story more than what he tells Shepard?

Anyway, that guy in the back. I assume it's a krogan, but it looks like a shark, innit?

Anyone else think that maybe these guys should just go back to making, you know, games again?
I can't tell if this is a gaming company or Cartoon Network anymore.

Awful trailer.

Nevermind the fakeness of the voice actor, those lines were just plain horrible.

Krogan are now sharkmen, and to make them look evil they have pirate eye patches, because hey - why not. It's not like krogan are motherlovers who fight even after they have their bodies torn in half; they would definitely cover an eye.

That animation in the locker room - the panning. WTF!

And what is the deal with the Forever Normandy? Unless this scene is post-ME3, that is just a big-ass oversight.

Was pleasantly surprised by Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker. Will definitely check this out.

PS. When is Deception v.2 coming out?

Wait... there was a badge or something in the trailer that said "Forever Normandy." I thought this was set before ME3. I am confused.

Confusion aside, I like Vega, but I'm going to be cautious about this anime.

3 games, 1 DLC and 2 comics.

I think she got enough.

So?

So they could have selected someone more interesting. Mass Effect universe is so big, and they go for the most flat companion ever.

They could have gone in totally 'nother direction with a protagonist we don't even know, a story that takes place in the part of the galaxy we never go to.

What about it? I don't remember a mountain of muscles anywhere near the ship in ME2 and ME1.

Vega was never on the Normandy. Otherwise he would've said so in the game.
