I've been looking through the guide and various sites, and I've run across a few weapons that never showed up in my first complete playthrough. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where and how to get them.

Crossbows
Dwarven Defender
Nugbane

Greatswords
Magic Greatsword
Ornamental Sword

Maces
Endrin's Mace

Mauls
Exalted Maul
Heavy Maul

Staves
Pyromancer's Brand

Longswords
King Maric's Blade

If anyone can tell me where to get these items, I'd be grateful.

I've seen Pyromancer's Brand at a vendor somewhere... The Dreyden fellow at Watcher's Keep perhaps?

Oh there was one I found out that stunned me.

Some weapon called Ageless that is behind the King's Throne in Orzammar. You obtain it by having your companions stand on three pedestals, which releases a Dragon. Kill the dragon and you get the weapon.

Hope that helps your list.

I know about the Ageless. That's why it's not on the list.

The Exalted Maul - I think it is one of the final Slim Coudry quest items, which you can only do after you can go to the palaces (you will be staying with Arl Eamon at this point). One of the people that you rob has it stored somewhere.

Endrin's Mace I think is given during the dwarf origin (either one i think). Might also be available later if you ally with Bhelen.

Pyromancer's Brand is a vendor item can be bought from the blacksmith at Redcliffe.

Maric's Blade I think doesn't exist in the game yet. probably data mined from Return to Ostagar. maybe i'm wrong about that though.

the others i've never heard of. probably also the result of data mining since i've never seen them in 4 playthroughs.

No, neither. Finishing commoner origin gives you Aeducan Mace and finishing noble gives you Fine Dwarven Longsword, I believe, but maybe Aeducan Mace is the one being referred to here. By siding with Bhelen you get Trian's Maul.

I believe the Ornamental Sword is from one of the crime wave quests. I think that's what I stole from the second mark Slim suggests to you.

That one is unusable. It's just merchant fodder. I don't know if there is another usable version, but the one you're referring to is not.

I'd recommend pumping your stealing (or Leliana) up to 4 and then pickpocketing every orange NPC. A lot of weird random gifts and weapons obtained that way.  I would guess some of these are pickpocketed off orange named enemies, too, like Uldred or the Broodmother.  There must be a reason why stealing level 4 lets you steal during combat.  I'm sure eventually someone will have tried pickpocketing every possible target in the game, but that may be another few months. ;)

I know a few special weapons, like the Summer Sword, can only be obtained if you kill people that a kinder player might spare.  So it also might be from killing an NPC you have usually let live.

Or you can persuade him that you are the person he is supposed to deliver it to. It's Ser Garlen's Sword btw, quite useful at the beginning.

I do remember the Pyromancer's Brand, now that you mention it. Thank you.

The Ornamental Sword I'm talking about is an equippable weapon. It's only Iron, so it's probably supposed to be available early on, but it has 3 Enchantments: Lucky, -5 Attack, and -1 Damage. It's rather horrible stat-wise, and I probably won't get it, but I want to at least know where it is. I'm wierd that way.

I found Ser Garlen's Sword. Missed it for quite a while, but the Dragon Age Wiki mentioned it, so I picked it up for Alistair. Much better than the Fine Dwarven Blade I was giving him.

As far as the stealing goes. I made it a point to get my pickpocketing skill up and steal from litterally everyone in game I saw to make extra gold for buying some of the more expensive equipment. I have not come across any of these that way. The Exalted Maul is indeed from the last quest in the Crime Wave line. It's in the secret vault along with the Tears of Andraste. The others I have no clue.

** Update.

Mysteries of Nugbane, Dead Metal Bucket, Axameter, and Dwarven Defender have all been solved at the wiki site.

dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/User:Mictlantecuhtli#Finished_Projects

You can find my request for item fixes (similar to the Ancient Elven Boots) here, if you wish to endorse it.
