I love most of it, but it's not even the best ME game I've played (or the second best for that matter).

For me, ME3 still is the disappointment of the year.

And my top five is:
- Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.
- Chrono Trigger.
- Metal Gear Solid 3.
- Mass Effect 2.
- Mortal Kombat II.

ME3 wasn't even close to my top 20

Hmmm. It's up there in the top 5, definitely. Diablo 2, Mass Effect (the entire series), Legacy of Kain (the series), Half-Life 1 and 2...

Maybe you haven't played a lot of games...

Anyway, I thought it was ok, but definitely not the best game ever.

My favorite games ever made is probably Dead Space 1 and 2. Sure it's not 30 hours long or involves making decisions, but I genuinely love the story and conflicts the protagonist faces. While I've played most of the Mass Effects more than four times, the Dead Space games have brought me back for seventh and eighth playthroughs, which is just ridiculous because I generally don't replay games that often.
Mass Effect 2 would probably be my third favorite game, then Deus Ex HR, Skyrim, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, ME1, etc
Btw the video you posted is incredible

The greatest game I've played... hmmm. That's a tough one. I guess it would be Fallout 2, Mass Effect 2 and Dynasty Warriors 2.

mass effect 1. ive played ME1 over 50 times. now thats just embarrassingly ridiculous. its an incomparably great game.

bioshock, uncharted 2, red dead redemption, fallout 3, and half life all left impressive marks on my gaming career too.

i really wish ME3 could have a redo.

No, I can't say it's even in my top 10. It definitely had some amazing, memorable moments such as Tuchanka but overall the game didn't live up to what I expected... and I had some pretty low standards after ME2.

Morrowind.

I think I was about 15 when it came out. Haven't played it much since then but I remember enjoying the sh*t out of it.

BRB, gonna go find my copy.

ME2 > ME1 > ME3.

I defy any game or movie to best this glorious end:

(1080p, default broshep, no player combat or loading screens, all me2 ending cutscenes, renegon, destroyed collector base, no casualties)

When I was young it was Monkey Island 2...than it was Wing Commander...now I am torn between the Portal series and Mass Effect 2 and 3.

Mass Effect 3 is definitely amongst my favorite games of all time (as are ME1 and ME2). By the way, that is a great video.

To answer the thread title:

Planescape: Torment - I had to think about this a while but it really was an amazing story that really mad me think (as well as keeping me entertained) with a great cast of characters. "What can change the nature of a man?" Every time I upgrade my computer I reinstall it and I will be very sad the day I can no longer get it to function. =(

Morrowind / Oblivion were a close contender for best game ever, each for different reasons. I loved the insane flexibility of Morrowind. It catered to the CDO evildoer in me. I stole every lightsource in every city outside, every pillow.... I had a very well lit stronghold. Oblivion has some of my favorite quests EVER. Like getting caught in the painting and having to kill the paint trolls with turpentine arrows. Or the DB quest where you're locked in a house and have to kill everyone inside without anyone ever suspecting you're the killer... I never had as much fun doing quests in a game like I did in Oblivion.

The ME games would have ranked pretty highly except my perception is colored by my distaste for the endings. I already know what people will call me for feeling this way but I'm not raging and I'm "entitled" to my opinion. I don't hate the series but I won't be playing it many years down the road like I do with Planescape.

Here is my personal top 10 (in no particular order because I can never figure that out):

- Deus Ex
- Baldur's Gate
- Super Mario World
- Xenogears
- Fallout 2
- Mass Effect 1
- Ocarina of TIme
- Command and Conquer: Red Alert
- Super Mario RPG
- Chrono Trigger

There are a lot of games that just miss the list (DA:O, BGII, Planescape, Mario Kart 64, etc.), but those are the ones that I either enjoyed the most or played the most.

Mega Man X4, Metroid Prime, OoT, DA:O and Mass Effect are my all-time favorites. OoT used to be my absolute favorite, but I think the original Mass Effect holds that title now.
