New Vegas followed by Mass Effect.
Sorry. I love most of Bethesda's games, but I think it's really unfair to put them in even the same league as Mass Effect.
No one ever cried over anything that happened in a Bethesda game. I cry half a dozen times - and not because I'm sad - every time I play ME2 and once or twice every time I play ME1. ME3 also has its moments. And I'm not the only dude who admits it.

I cried when Lucien Lachance died in Oblivion. Even though his death was fitting for a child of Sithis, when I saw what was left of his corpse after the other Black Hand members had tortured and butchered him, I cried. He was a great character and (in my assassin's opinion) deserved a more honorable death.

I shed some tears when Thane died, that's about the only time I cried during a video game though. And I was genuinely shocked and sad when it was revealed to Isaac in Dead Space that Nicole had killed herself.hoodaticus wrote...

Bethesda games have never really been sad (most times), but they're games that many people (including myself) get really immersed in and enjoy the adventure. Most Bethesda games to me are about having an incredibly fun time, not as much having an emotional attachement, which isn't really a problem with me.

Even before the extended cut, this was the greatest game Ive ever played :') Huge fan can't wait for new installments. But this, made me go through and play the series over. ME is my fav lore out there!
man that was a great video. great fan made video. Its good you like ME3. I didnt at all. entire game was ruined and ME1,2 were better. but that's just my opinion
hope you enjoy the series again as you playthrough. You should kill off wrex and see the difference of him and Wreav. I really enjoyed Wreav. man was he great. really made you want to hate him, but that was the point. Bioware did a great job with Wreav
anyway, have fun replaying the series again

I don't think I've ever had the same emotional attachment to any charachters like in the ME series. Kudos to them.LadyMarisa wrote...

Batman Arkham Asylum/City beats Mass Effect out for me. Fanboys, rave all you want about Jennifer Hale. I will always prefer the maniacal Mark Hamill.

Like I didn't know that. Point stands - it's an open-universe Bethesda game. Mass Effect pulls you in because their world is so very much like ours. No Bethesda game does that.Cthulhu42 wrote...

Fallout New Vegas does that.
Have you even played New Vegas? The quality of it's writing, characters, factions, and setting separate it from other "open-universe Bethesda games." It's not just Fallout 3 on the west coast, it's a very different RPG.

Those games are great. And Mark Hamill will always beat Jennifer Hale, Mark Meer. I honestly wish we could choose more than just those two VA for Shepard.JBPBRC wrote...

World like ours? The Crucible and what it does (namely Synthesis) is far more over the top than even the 50s flavored anti-Communist Fallout culture.

Mmmm... Crysis. Crysis 2 made me sad when they ditched the sequel hook and went in a different direction.
