I agree with you, that's for sure. But you lay it on so thickly as to become as annoying about it as the people who never shut up about how it's a travesty, that's for sure. I think you ought to tone it down like eighteen notches, that's for sure. Then we can laugh and smile and enjoy ME3 together, that's fo sho.

I'm always having a hard time deciding between Planescape: Torment and Fallout. As for ME3, it's not even in my top 20.

Well it is subjective, but with poor writting and an even worse branching system, doesn't make it for me the greatest.

So no, not the greatest game I've played. That goes to the Witcher 2.

Honnestly ME1 is the greatest game I ever played, but ME2 and ME3 are also very good games.

Hard to decide which is the greatest game I've played (since my opinion seems to change depending on my mood), but all games from the ME series are way up there. Only game I can see possibly topping them is KOTOR.

Greatest? I don't know. I played so many.... ME3 certainly had some of the best dialogue lines (and i mean between shepard and any character besides starbrat ok? I beg you not to bring him in again).

#1: Planescape: Torment and it isn't even close.

#2: Morrowind (when modded properly is amazing)

Honorable mentions in no order:

ME series (the three games had strengths and weaknesses particular to each installment)
NWN2: MoTB (great story)
Baldur's Gate 2 SOA / ToB (remember the Demogorgon fight or the Demilich fights?)
Jedi Knight (remember that one?)
DAO (only when properly modded to make combat challenging)

My personal Top 5:

Baldur's Gate 2
Planescape: Torment
The Fallout series (except Fallout 3)
Hexen
System Shock 2

NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer, closely followed by Civilization 4 and Morrowind.

But the Mass Effect trilogy is definitely up there.

Moonstone - A hard days knight.
B17 - Flying Fortress (or whatever the amiga version of The Mighty Eight was called, because they were not the same games.)
Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, still have it.
Dragon Age: Origins was also pretty great, had a lot of thought going into my choices trying to do everything right, oh I was wrong in the end :P
Ufo: Enemy Unknown

Yeah I'm old.

From an emotional point of view it´s definitely Metal Gear Solid 3/4 and Heavy Rain. These games are producing emotions like no other game seriously.
From a fun point of view it´s Harvest Moon. Such a simple game but it was so addicting it´s incredible.

Looks interesting. That's precisely why I'm keeping an eye on this thread, picking up ideas for my next game. Posted Image

Ocarina of Time, Golden Eye, Jagged Alliance 2, Dune 2 were all games I've played until I could dream every pixel. Of course, that's relative to the time they came out. This is not going to happen with Mass Effect. I like Baldur's Gate 2 and Dragon Age Origins better than ME2 and ME3.

Though as a series - it being a single story - it's in my top 3.

No, it is not. It is not even the best ME game I ever played. I think if had to do some ranking, it'd be BG2>ME>everything else, and with ME it'd be like
ME1>ME2>ME3

Except you haven't read very well.

Depends on the phase of my life. If I had to make a more or less chronological list:

UFO: Enemy Unknown (X-COM)
Final Fantasy VI (six)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Vandal Hearts
Baldur's Gate
Resident Evil
Neverwinter Nights (for the multiplayer persistant worlds)
World of Warcraft (during the first two years or so, when the game wasn't for everyone)
Dragon Age: Origins
Mass Effect Trilogy

Planescape: Torment is my favorite game of all time.

Edit: Just wanted to add that the Jaheira and Viconia romances are the best romances designed in any game with Jaheiras being my all time favorite.

Planescape will always be the greatest game ever made. Best philosophical story in a game to date. First game ever to make me cry. The ending just blew me away.

Well, actually, that is from No One Lives Forever 2. Good game, but nowhere near as good as the first.

So my number one favorite game of all time? The Operative: No One Lives Forever. Hands down.
But the entire Mass Effect trilogy is up there too, other than that, Star Trek: The Next Generation - A Final Unity comes to mind, as do Gothic 1 and 2, I guess.

I think both NOLF games are phenomenal. Definately in my top games of all time. I have harrassed Monolith in the past few years to give us a sequel to NOLF, but they are silent it would seem. I miss Cate Archer. *sniff* GOG can't get those games soon enough.

Contract J.A.C.K started going serious... and that leads into darker stuff like F.E.A.R. and Condemned... silly Jace going off and doing other things. Don't get me wrong those are good games, but nothing compared to NOLF

Monkey Island 1-3
Warcraft 2
Gothic, Gothic 2 (with the expansion)
Red Alert 2
Ocarina of Time

Those are basically what drew me into gaming in the first place.

Yeah I'm old.

Own 2 copies actually. Even though I love Arcanum for its atmosphere, music, etc..... it is not a game I would put on my top list, though I would highly recommend it to anyone who is attracted to steampunk or is tired of easy games. At times Arcanum is more brutal than Fallout 1 or 2.
Also it is cool that they added multiplayer... but man is it buggy as hell.

you may be old, but I am ancient

System Shock 2

Definately a great game. That is one of my top games. We played it before everyone else knew it as Bioshock. We use to be the cool kids.

Also one of the scariest games I have ever played. When you have surround sound and you hear breathing with a groan behind you and you turn around..... scared the hell out of me.
