The voice acting, however... well, that voice-over was cheesy, hope the rest of the voice acting is better. As for the writing, wait and see I guess?

Animation? looks okay.
Voice overs? holy hell that was bad. Are they trying to make chobot look good?
What was bad vith voice over exactly? It was a trailer narration, they are all the same. You can't really evaluate VO without the context of the scene or without the context of the emotions of the character in certain situation.
There is some guy talking something.
That's it.

And here it looks like either they could not make proper trailer, that may attract people, or all the anime itself is poor.
I'd love to see something from ghibli, I know it's not really "their" kind of story, but hey, they did "on your mark".

See, I thought that was Keith David. I hope it wasn't.
I'm confused, though. If this is a prequel (highly-anticipated, no less....
Where did Vega get that? Why does he have it? Did he get it out of a cereal box? Where can I get one?
But yeah, um...Idk about this one. I don't understand what's going on here. Why are we fighting these Krogan? Where are we? Is this just some random battle stuff with Vega? They're Special Ops? Was Vega Special Ops before he met Shepard?
The animation itself looks....

I will watch and see if I want to buy it or not, like anything else I am interested in.

Admittedly the badge looks dodgy at best (as does the whole trailer) but they probably made all sorts of memorial stuff after Shepard's death. The anime is a prequel to ME3, not the whole series. I'm guessing at least parts of the anime take place around Shepard's death. He could have also kept the badge from those days. Vega seems to idolize Shepard a bit so it's natural.
That being said, the animation looks horrendous and the voice over is cheesy. I'm not sure who's the target audience of this. It looks incredibly juvenile and I even like well made anime. The production team seems solid but they are seriously running on a low budget and it shows. Why bother if you're not going to make it properly?

And that's what confuses me. Because Vega had nothing to do with the Normandy before ME3. Right? And Shepard's fate is really the end of the game. So...And Vega wasn't a N7 Special Ops until midway in ME3? I'm nitpicking I guess. It just threw me off.

You can't just automatically assume that it sucks.
It's like some of you are saying, "The Krogan look different, so I already hate this even though I've never seen it yet. Since the narration is bad the film has to be bad."
....Really?

Vega's not N7. His whole character arc in ME3 is about wavering whether he wants to accept the invitation to N7 training or not. He's just a soldier. I haven't read all the books and comics but as far as I know he didn't really have anything to do with Normandy or Shepard before the end of ME2 but it's likely he idolized Shepard (the savior of Citadel) after the events of ME1. Hence the badge. Of course there could be many explanations.
Edit: If I understood you correctly, you seem to think Vega's an N7 in the trailer. I don't see any N7 logos. That team's just Alliance kids.

And how is this 'highly anticipated'? /facepalm
Yet I could say the samething about most of the cartoons that I loved or watched in the 80s and 90s.Captain_Obvious_au wrote...
A cartoon is a cartoon, and this one is drawn realllly badly.
I see that you missed that this was done by Funimation not by Bioware but they also did Halo: Legends, Dead Space: Downfall, Dead Space: Aftermath, and Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker.mythlover20 wrote...
Oh, dear gods. What the hell?
I liked GotS, I thought the work was thought-provoking and intelligent. This though, does NOT give me any hope for this pos.
Agreed, the va is terrible, it looks cheezy and amateurish, especially for an anime which I've always found childish and amateurish, and frankly, it took me the ENTIRE trailer to figure out that the monster was supposed to be a Krogan.
Bioware.... seriously? *headdesk.... repeatedly until the wood is covered with brain matter*

oh god why, why is there a stereotypical anime guy with glasses as the f*#&ing engineer.
Not to mention a gruff voice-over stating not particularly to anyone: "You ladies may be well-trained special forces..." Can we please have more anime and macho clichés clumped together? This trailer is not yet cheesy enough to be relevant.

Ignorance must be blissful for you especially when Spirits is CGI and Paragon is an Anime, which are apples and oranges. Btw you do know that Paragon takes place in during ME2 right?XqctaX wrote...

this looks cheap. and its the second least liked character as protagonist
looks like its going to get youtubed or torrented rather than bought by people
cus i dont see anyone wanting to pay for it.
also a prequell to me3 no thanks. prequell to me1 would have been a smarter move
like the first contact war.
i dont see how screwing the fans over in the third game and then making stuff
about caracters most didnt like and then also makin it look cheap beeing a good way
to regain fans within the franshise lol
Haters gonna hate and its pretty clear that you don't watch that much animation whether or not its Anime based.Roamingmachine wrote...

Why everything has to be anime these days...
Because once you reach the bottom with your franchise, you might as well keep on digging till you hit China. Dawn of the seeker at least doesn't look like like Little Timmy made it in kindergarden.
