So I played on Platinum today. Here are my thoughts.

At least the mixed enemy units will make FBWGP less viable for farmers. Even better if camping back there doesn't block the rear spawn point.xZBx wrote...
I think the main reason why certain teams didn't get too far, more than the difficulty, was the fact that they were playing on new maps, having to form new strats on the fly, which decreases the chances of creating optimal strats, plus, these were new classes to adapt to on the fly. Platinum won't be nearly as hard as it's projecting itself to be at the moment when people play with the classes/maps they know and love.

I imagine Banshees and Brutes chasing players into some Engineer's Turrets will be throwing some players out of whack for a while. Or getting double-teamed by a Phantom palm cannon and a Ravager when you pop out of cover.
Oh, and all the invisible Hunters and Phantoms.
.. Honestly, the mixed units sound horrifying if you think about it enough.

See no point to play Platinum if you dont get at least 200-250 grands for completion. Because with good team you can finish a couple of Gold matches exact in the same time as you spend on one run on Platinum (i assume that from what i read in the beginning of this thread). I know that there is people that playing for fun and not for money but let be honest - most of us just want to earn credits...
I honestly hope this is true just so we can keep Platinum from being the new Gold; hordes of players who are playing out of their difficulty level just because it grants the most money, usually riding the coattails of some poor sap who actually wanted a decent game.
Maybe if Platinum grants less payout over time, they'll stick to Gold.
.. Doubtful, though.

Hmm, now I want to play FQI on platinum, just so I can kill a Geth Prime with a Cerberus Turret or a Phantom with a Geth Pyro.InfamousResult wrote...

Players that you deem incompetent (for me it’s
N7 below 350).
Oh and some advice...
My N7 rank is 120 just because I have no interest to promote my characters (is there any reason to do so?) and getting kicked from lobby because of that would be quite silly. N7 rank above 120 doesn't tell anything but your interest in promoting characters

Also Map will have played a part (No one has any experience on spawn patterns, camping spots or anything else considered tactically advantageous on Rio, Vancouver or London). Again I fancy my chances better with White, Glacier or Goddess than with any of those.
Quick question: Has the spawn system been changed at all? The original sees enemies spawn two points away from you at any one time and it's what makes Glacier speedrunning viable. Make spawn patterns random and we can only camp. And it's a bad idea to camp against Reapers.

It sounds like it works more or less the same way as Kasumi's, its a weird teleporting melee attack. I guess the question is... do you remain next to the enemy after the attack or do you do teleport back to your point of origin, like Kasumi did?WiqidBritt wrote...

Lol.
Hang on let me directly increase my skill by promoting all 6 characters.
Well it does indicate more time and experience playing the game...Just not necessarily more skill.

Well, it's not even a sure source, since I know a N7 600 which has more experience and time playing than a N7 3000, but just doesn't care about promoting.
It can give an overall idea, but that doesn't apply to every player.
The N7 level is unfortunately useless to judge experience, time and skill.

If you don't promote it doesn't show the hundreds of games you could have beaten on Gold. I think I'm in the 320's but (like many people on this board) I could easily be over 1000 if I bothered to promote. You could get to 3000 on Bronze alone anyway.

It's basically like that weekend challenge, only a bit harder.
Good news is that there won't be any fbwgp groups, since a phantom or a banshee will rip through those lousy counter campers in a second.

1) I'm assuming you will have all three enemy factions for Waves 6-11. Just a hunch. It sounds like BioWare did their damnedest to make this impossible. Unless they are holding back for any even harder challenge I don't see them NOT spawning all three.
2) New maps sounds decent enough. London sounds similar to Condor; alot of open ground with an overload of cover. Rio sounds like it could be nice for potentially speedrunning. Vancouver sounds like the least fun map and sounds little like Jade or Hyra with one large room and a balcony overwatching a large courtyard. I won't judge them until I play them myself though.
3) The Adept sounds pretty damn powerful, Annihilation Field sounds similar to Nova but with more powerful stuff. Makes sense. I think these are considered "super soldiers" they are meant to be OP. Dark Channel is an OP Reave, Annihilation Field an OP Nova. Multifrag Grenade an OP Frag Grenade. Supply Pylon and Homing Grenade are obvious. Just saying that these classes may get an F-Ton of whiners asking to nerf them based on Silver or Gold running
4) It seems like anywhere between 100-200k Credits could be awarded. 100k is the minimum I'd see them giving out following the "There's no reason you should not be able to afford a PSP" comment and 200k simply because of how difficult it sounds. I doubt it will be that high I hope they stop at 155k (just enough for two SPs and a JEP/PSP and JEP)
5) Interestingly: There's nothing about erratic spawns. Of course they were on new maps so that is tough to gauge but it does hold hope for speedruns. Yet another they could be holding back on for a "Diamond" or "Eezo" difficulty.
Final thought: It sounds like the spawn run strategy could still work and little will change aside from the inclusion of Geth. The most interesting thing is that it could be possible for only boss enemies to spawn allowing for more effective spawn rocketting despite the reduction in Area of Effect. I don't see this being comped in public anytime soon but there's no reason from what I've heard for it to be impossible in the first week with a great team. Anyone in Team AreleX got some recording equipment; we can show PC how it's done!

1) Waves 1 and 2 is the faction you've chosen to fight, from 3 and on you fight all 3 factions.
2) Bwahahahahahah

i would still suggest promoting. you are being stubborn to prove a point and it is going to get you kicked lol.
you will not be given time to explain yourself, you will probably get all 3 kick votes before you even load in..
if you really like the game, and want to be taken seriously you need to promote at least a handful of times.
i can honestly admit i will kick you without even looking at your guns if your n7 level is below 200 in gold.
sorry. im not alone, i will just admit it.
