 since Shadow Strike teleports us...

...i hope we won't be getting infiltrators floating above the map soon.

also, i hope they'd now allow us to keep our credits whenever we get DCed. or maybe the game should automatically try to return to the same match and keep the score and credits.
nothing like getting DCed on higher waves in Platinum.

Honestly I don't get all the flak OP is getting on kicking on N7 rating. If Platinum is as hard as one says it is you can hardly risk letting a possibly inexperienced N7-140 randomer join just because "He might be good". This is platinum not gold. It's not elitist it's better safe than sorry...

Ofcourse some players naturally don't promote and-if I know them-I will gladly play with them (WaffleCat, AreleX etc.) for obvious reasons but if it is a stranger from public and he gets two votekicks I'll also gladly give the third. Like I said... better safe than sorry. Ofcouse after about month such acts won't matter and everyone will be ****ing for AN EVEN HARDER difficulty. BioWare not being able to complete it says nothing. Some people just suck at some games and just because they made it doesn't mean they are good at it... I can see zh3rk, Hobo, AreleX (well more likely to be Relix and Bechter without AreleX, I haven't even heard from him in about a week), GodlessPaladin and Mythiic to see the first groups to extraction.

i dont kick and play with waffle cat think i played with you aswell the other night but like you said will kick a random with lower than 120 n7 rank on gold and above.. but when i do play normally will look at there weapons/equipment before deciding the kick...

Great, I'll be excluded from Platinum because I can't use a mic because, you know, family finding it really wierd if I were to scream random stuff like "Pyros around the corner!"

Sounds terrible. Mixing factions amounts to every match playing the same, and added health just makes things go slower. Maybe I'll feel different once I play it, but right now I really don't like the sound of it.

So more boss-type enemies require more damage dealing weapons...

Soooo.... (besides Claymore ofcourse)
Javelin X?

Oh my. So at Wave 10 it's possible that all three factions will fight us?

In this case, could we get the Infiltrators back to pre-nerf state?

Lol but this is a real problem for a lot of people myself included.  I use my mic when home alone  Hopefully well be able to find other skilled micless players.  It does sound fun!

Looks like they've finally made a mode where you're practically forced to have different types of characters on the team to deal with different things. I like it.

To the contrary, I'd say that there are character builds in the game who are already just as good against every faction, whereas there's others that only really shine against specific factions.  It's an instance of difficulty ramping up differently for different characters, and that could be a bad thing for character versatility.  It's possible (depending on how Platinum is implemented) you'd want to have everyone be playing well-rounded characters instead of a specialized and synergistic diversity.

For example, Geth are much, much harder for characters who get stunlocked (krogans, batarians, turians).  By contrast, Geth Krysae Infiltrators couldn't care less.  So in such a case, the top class sees more use and the borderline classes see less.

I have my doubts.

Given that Platinum absolutely requires the most damaging and staggering weapons+powers, i would say we might end up having only a couple of viable classes and weapons.

Not forgetting that our cobra nuke will be nerfed in terms of effective radius.

With boss mobs on each round and a whole plethora of mixed troops,I can forsee a full team of GIs armed with krysae X being the only or the most (>80%) viable combination on Platinum.

With 2 regular staggers in the form of proximity mine and the krysae...hell the krysae can stagger slap silly a bunch of phantoms left and right.

Coupled with the much needed damage boost from TC and the aoe nature of the krysae.....TC to give you a short respite to reposition without their notice.....well,you pretty much have a solid cocktail that can wear down an enemy in good time.

A less viable alternative might be a BE artillery squad...at least that dosen't require people to max out their weaps.

TLDR:IMO,platinum will end up making only a couple of select classes or weapons viable rather than encourage diversity.

Not just more bosses, everything comes with multiple folds more health than presently.

There is only one option....krysae X....or BE artillery squad.

What's your source for that? I highly doubt they have "multiple folds more health than presently". If they did then your Krysae would not kill phantom in 6 rounds, for example. Also, such a high HP boost would be just cheap, and BioWare has better designers than that.

Stronger enemies, more ammo... Using Harrier, Reegar, Paladin and Javelin will be difficult. You must construct additional pylons!!!

You might not have a chance if others throw you out of the lobby first just for using that combination of race/class.

Like i mentioned earlier,it's based on rumours which is why I recommend taking it with a pinch of salt. However, based on what OP has shared with us,I guesstimate it to be around 3 times since he mentioned maxed equipment as being absolutely necessary for any chance of survival.Right now in gold,we can get away with a rank 3 gold weap but still put out decent damage.

Let's add random faction and double the numbers and call it a day. It doesn't sound like it's going to be enjoyable.

There is no way they have 3 times as much health. If they did, then your suggested Krysae would just blow their hair dry. lol

From Bronze to Gold, there's an increase in enemy health and DR (plus the damage they do). I expect the ratio to be similar, so it won't be too drastic.

Amount of enemies and their combination is what affects the difficulty greatly.

I get people doing this on Gold. I'm sure on Platinum there'll be people kicking for using anything but an N7 class.

I didn't just mention Krysae X,i said a full team of GI's with krysae X.Don't forget about the damage boosts from TC and HM.

Right now in gold,a GI with a krysae X is still able to put out alot of damage with spare change.A three fold health increase might just make one such player end up being like any other non infil class using the krysae.IE to say,the damage will be nothing facinating but still tolerable.Of course, that would mean that any other non infil(or even non GI) classes using a krysae will end up looking as if they are holding onto nothing more than a pea shooter.

This is why I predicted in my earlier post that Platinum will not diversify the type of classes/race/weapons/powers used.Instead,it will boil down to only a couple of viable combinations.

I dunno...

Bioware usually listens to the more what I would term as "psychotic" elements of the playerbase...

I have seen many of those pushing for a platinum difficulty asking for one where death for all is like a 99% probability or least such that only a very select few players(<10) in the entire lot of us will be able to clear it.

Sigh..
