Mass Effect was a terrific game, One of the best that I have ever played. The storyline was dynamic and original. The original ending and the newer ending were phenominal, Bioware really stepped up to the plate. If sheperd had died at the end I would have been fine with that why does the hero always have to survive being a martyr means you become immortalized as a hero. thank you BioWare
Ohohoh that slaps me on the knee.
will agree exept the endings sucked, everything else was amazing, and the ending logic was ripped straight from DEM the game, so really not original
Kind of puts the lie to the idea it was their artistic vision since it's ripped from someone else's game and movie (Matrix) and tv series (B5 chaos and order). Yes and I had the original idea for the Mona Lisa myself.
I don't see being a martyr as anything good to aspire to-it actually is often surrender of a sort. And as shown in this game, it is exactly surrender. You don't immortalize someone who just jumps on an option because it seems ok. You immortalize someone who actually looks at things more than just superficially and ask yourself what choosing to do something would do and what is wrong about doing it and what, if anything is right. I find none of the choices to be wholly right at all and synthesis and control have nothing right at all in them. The problem is destroy means agreeing with and believing the kid and then solving his problem.
Original goal of 3 games-Destroy the reapers, unite to make it happen.
Goal at end of ME3-avoid and remove conflict between organics and synthetics.
The original ending sucked and didn't fit with the games and stories that came before-in fact, they ignored or contradicted much of what were in the games that came before, including ME3 itself. The EC is not meant to make the original endings fit the rest of the series any better and to remove contradictions and all, it is only meant to explain the original endings. Casey Hudson said as much-they do not fundamentally change the original endings. What that means is the EC does not change the original endings. Right, awful endings are still awful but now with more words and pictures. Wow. I can insult you with a lot of words so you have no idea what I've just said or I can just straight up insult you. Which is better?
