Oh and yes! As TookYoCookies said the turret sequences. They are incredibly boring! Same thing over and over, shooting waves of enemies, that's pretty much every mission in ME3. And not only are the turret sequences terrible (long, boring, uninteresting and unoriginal) they were everywhere!! You would have turret sequences everywhere! and it was very, VERY annoying.

Don't need to. Look at youtube comments, amazon reviews, this here forum, other forums, other retail reviews, and you'll see the general consensus that clearly you're blinded to. If you want to downplay the actually situation, you can for many have already. If you liked the game, good for you, but many others didn't. That's why there's these constant outcries (on the forums) if you hadn't notice it already.

Just remember here that not everyone goes online to air their views. Not saying whether your views are right or wrong, just putting it out there.

While this is true, there had to be some metrics somewhere regarding the endings - otherwise there is no way Bioware spends months making a free DLC to explain them.

Oh ofcourse. I'm not disputing that. The controversy was huge, and with good reasons, which is why they released this free DLC. I'm just trying to remind that the online world =/= the whole audience.

Well if that's the case maybe the rest of the audience should get online to voice their opinion because right now, it's invalid. Saying "Oh there are millions of people that believe in this but we just don't talk about it" doesn't get you a vote.

Whats the point of this thread? If you think the game is bad then don't play it.

I think that the problem is not that ME3 is a bad game per se but the fact that is a Mass Effect game and people were really expecting a lot from it. As the game in itself it would have been a good game if it was called Gears of Effect or Call of Mass or even N7 Spec Ops: the Space Line.

Good point.

As a standalone game, I see ME3 as an "average good". It has some issues, it has some good points, the overall story (without knowing the background of ME at all) is pretty decent for a shooter, LI is just a nice bonus with no real effect (once again, not knowing other two games in theory), combat system is great. If I started with ME3 in the first place, I would be OK with the game, would invested time in playing previous games and probably wouldn't even mind the endings.

Unfortunately, I started with ME1, and went through ME2... so my expectations of the final game were not high, they were huge. And to be honest, as part of trilogy, no a standalone game ME3 failed those expectations for me, which is honestly a shame.

I can't call it a bad game, but I can't call it a good game either

ME went from a RPG action to a 3rd person shooter with half-assed RPG elements, which disappointed me

I still don't follow that argument. ME1's skill point system was far worse than ME3's except that it had dialog skills. What are all these RPG things that went away?

The funny part is, ME3 has more RPG elements than ME2. ME3 has weapon upgrades, mods, more weapons, more armor, more powers, and more customization.
ME2 had an upgrades system, and almost no armor or weapons. Even with all of the DLC.

This is one of those never ending arguments that make my head hurt. I would like to discuss this, but I've already my points like a thousand times in other threads.

and that was my main problem with ME2, but that still doesn't change the fact the ME3 still became a 3rd person shooter and the only RPG element that wasn't lazy was the power chain and Shepards armor Customization, everything felt half-assed

Wait you mean you don't role dice to make SHepard move, and then spend hours in some kiosk buying whatever weapon/armor/whatever?

Some of us LIKED exploring planets, getting to know characters, comparing stats and managing inventory. Some people enjoyed hub areas you could return to periodically that were not an endless shooting gallery. There are even a few poor souls that enjoyed trundling about in the bloody Mako looking for 'anomalies'.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the combat in ME3 but, you know, balance, man. If I wanted to play call of gears I'd have gone out and bought it.

Mass Effect 3 is in no way a bad game. Not at all.
Or could you please name some good games launched since ME3 was released?

Mass Effect 3 is a great game. The ending was good before the EC( though I like the additions they made) IMO. I've played SP 8+ times and enjoy it everytime. I've never had a game/series have an emotional impact on me like Mass Effect did. I loved everything about the game and series.

Does anyone use ME3s 'class and builds forum,? There was far more discusion on classes BEFORE ME 3 was released.

Its pathetic how un RPG ME3 is. Have u ever played an RPG were u didnt need a journal?

Irs only been a few months tho.

I can name games made 10 years ago that r better then ME3.

ME3 is the third best in its own trilogy. Id give it fifth best if i wanted to Include galaxies or infiltrator.

I agree with this - there was definitely an overcorrection from ME1 to ME2. A slow, incremental approach towards balance would have been nice to see. As much as I loved ME1, the inventory was a bit cumbersome, and exploring some planets was infuriating - namely the ones with those high, steep cliffs where you would slowly, methodically work your way towards the top, stumble a little and then crash all the way to the bottom ... you know what I'm talking about!! But ME2 was a huge deviation ... and I think I might be the only person who didn't mind scanning planets. I would have preferred exploring them, but eh.

It all boils down to a matter of opinion, though some of the grievances listed in the OP are indeed facts. However, whether those same facts actually detract from the game is a matter of opinion. ME3 is by far my favorite of the three games, and I rather enjoyed the auto-dialogue as I thought that it brought a more cinematic feel to the game. Personally, playing ME1 and ME2 again to get to ME3 feels like a chore. Playing ME3 is, in my opinion, the most enjoyable experience out of the three.

It's surprising that you say that ME3 is a short game, considering the story of ME1 could be completed in about seven hours; if you're a completionist like I am, doing all the sidequests bumps that time up to a total of 14 or 15 hours of gameplay. ME2 took me about 23 hours to complete; ME3, 26 hours.
