The whole artistic integrity thing was just an excuse to defend themselves from angry fans. I doubt they truly believed in the concept, but if they did, then the naivety of their mental thinking as game designers (contradicting art) is indeed laughable.SpamBot2000 wrote...
Here's where artistic integrity would mean something other than a cynical flak shield. An artist would have told EA there's no way they were gonna release an unfinished ME3. EA would have had a choice to fire and replace them and take their chances with that for a marketing pitch OR allow them to finish it. But as we can see, the "art" is always secondary in this business.

It is sad that ME3 crushed my expectations so hard.

It looks pretty and the combat is good. Other than that, it is simply not a very good game. I mean come on, the "Hospital" is a hallway. Oh my the creativity! It's a sad entry into the ME series. A sad entry.
So ironic and weird that the citadel on ME1 felt alive and in ME3 its just hallways and basic........the hospital had about 4 rooms.....and the man who had to have his leg amputated was stuck outside on a bed..<_<... even C-sec who had a whole section in ME1 were reduced to a single room on the citadel........it's only when u look back on ME3 after completion and the ending backlash has waned that you truly realise how crap ME3 was and how lucky to some point they were the ending travesty masked the problems.......who messes up a journal....i mean really.....ME2 got it spot on.

I guess it's shorter than ME1, if you did in all the side quests in ME1. But who the hell wants to play the same four maps over & over again. People talk alot about the ME1 sidequests, but they were so damn boring. ME2 got the sidequest thing the bets.

citadel was a huge space station in ME1, you actually felt that people lived there. Come ME3 its nothing but a glorified airport. It even feels like a airport
Yeah, with unsettling music that drove me nuts. Something eerie there.

I'm DEFINITELY not seeing the "Game is short" thing. My ME3 playthroughs are just a little bit shorter than my ME2 playthroughs, which have all of the DLC on them & played.

I've had a few 40 hour playthroughs on ME2. Best I could crack on ME3 was 25.
Can't believe I've put this much time in the ME series. Holy hell...

IMO the same thing can be said about DA2.
If confused about what I mean, think of a pair of skunk socks with the Calvin Klein label stuck on them.

Maybe not BAD, but certainly not great. Almost not even "good".
When compared to my rankings of "Great" and "Super Great" for ME1 and ME2, it looks horrible. But even by itself, it's still not all that great.
I could name all the reasons why I think that, but it is irrelevant and would cause more trouble than it's worth, I'm sure. So I think a good contribution to this thread would simply be
"I might have to agree"

Yay, another hate fest circle jerk thread.
Every thread on BSN ends up being some kind of fest that involves a circle jerk.
Even all the guys that claim to always be positive, and love the game.
And the guys that hate the game.
And the IT people.
It all amounts to the same thing. Not one thread has ever come to something that wasn't a circle jerk.
Soon, someone will start a thread about all the ME haters and why ME3 is simply a great game. Everyone will get together and talk about how stupid other people are, and how awesome the game is.
Circle Jerk.
