Mass Effect 3 is a bad game

I liked the dream sequences...lol! I know a lot of people dont care for them, but I thought they fit and gave the game a nice layer!
the auto dialouge ...well...some I like, some I didnt. but overall, I gave it a thumbs up.
fetch quests...meh....it was ok. I miss mining for materials..lol! yes..yes...I also enjoyed mining in ME2. was tedious at times...but addictive!! would be a fun stand alone game to me!
side quests...I dunno....could use a little more maybe.
I liked the idea of the crucible. I didnt like star baby. that twist could have stayed at home for me.
I liked the intro...lol!
I did feel that previous choices were shoehorned a bit. for example...I didnt do zaeeds loyalty in one run of ME2...so in ME3..he dies. was weird..but...I cant say my previous choice didnt affect current game.
I didnt mind no vehicles. I couldnt stand driving that hammerhead. but I would have put up with it...so that fans who do like it...could get their fun from it!
overall..I liked the game. It seemed to me to trade depth of character building and exploration for emotional drama. after a while...it felt a bit to "heavy" emotionaly and dramaticaly. then the endings came along...lol
sheesh. not much to say that hasnt already been said. and EC left me with more questions.

But there are a lot of issues that impact my enjoyment of it, and it looks like you've got a good number of them on your list.

No Galaxy exploration. No vehicles- Fan's requests. Maybe they will do something in DLC, but you can't blame BioWare on something the fans didn't want.
Game is very short, compared to previous games- not true. ME1 is the shortest, if you ignore side quests. Even then, it takes a long time to finish ME1 with sidequests because of the huge planets. Without it you could finish the game fairly quickly.
Crucible- what exactly is your problem with that?
Choices did not matter- in the ending, maybe (if you don't count the war assets or sliders). But many of our choices have been acknowlaged throughout the ME3.
Catalyst's existence- Elaborate. What did he do to you?
Overall plot is very weak - Actually there are great things in the plot. Uniting the galaxy to stop the reapers, fixing the galaxy's mess. Other things in the plot are also good, just executed very poorly.
Bugs. Tons of them- Maybe I'm lucky, but the only bug I had encountered with is behind Joker's chair.
Endings- The endings and their problems got fixed in the EC. If you still don't like them for whatever reason, that is your problem.
Artistic integrity- REALLY? Are you serious? What the hell does that have to do with anything?
the rest of the games are irrelevant- I always see people saying that. I never understand why. What exactly makes the other two games irrelevant.
Insults from Bioware- I don't recall we were ever been insulted by BioWare. You feeling insulted is a whole different story. And even if they insulted you in any way (which they didn't), it's hardly the game's fault. It's BioWare's themselves.
The game is not bad. You don't like it. I however, love it.

I haven't played it in a while, and I probably won't as long as Mac Walters is lead writer.
Lets alos not forget about Deception.... Bioware has been releasing poor product and anyone that cares shouldn't support them.

I would just like to point out auto-dialogue isn't necessarily a bad thing, I know some people who liked the change, saying that it made conversations much more smoother and realistic. I don't agree with them, but just saying, that that one is subjective.
Game being short, I'd disagree with as well. ME1 took me about 25-30 hours to complete (completionist on normal), ME2 - 25 hours (Insanity, Completionist), ME3 - 30 hours on Insanity, Completionist). The only one I'm not sure about is the ME1 one, but even it if were longer, it'd be because of fake exploration (don't get me wrong, I liked the Mako and going on planets, but there isn't exactly a lot of variety, and most of the side-quests and planets are copy-pasta).
ME2 completionist/insanity - 25 hours?

Gooby pls. Game wasn't the best in the ME series, and there's that ending, but it's still a good game. If they actually did something to make the war assets not a waste of time to collect I would probably think even more of it.
And patch the journal, I'd agree with this.

Why do people care so much about the journal? I never onced looked at the journal in 3 playthroughs. The map shows you anyone involved in a quest that you can complete/advance.

I don't really care about the journal either, I did pretty much everything on my 1st playthrough so I don't need it. Really my big complaint is the poor implementation of the EMS system. If there's a DLC or something that makes it worthwile to actually do the fetch quests, I'd be sold on the next ME game.CronoDragoon wrote...

This. All the times I've replayed ME3 I've tried to think to myself "this is a stand alone title, forget about the other amazing Mass Effect games," and that's the mindset I have to get in to enjoy the game.grey_wind wrote...
Objectively, ME3 is a good game, not great, taken as a stand alone title.
But compared to what came before it and what the devs made it out to be, it's a turd.

Well said OP. Congradulations, you now have the same combat system Max Payne achieved in 1999, that does not make the game good at all.
Bad game is very, very bad. If ME fans dont want to get shafted any more better wise up and see this piece of sh*t for what it is.

Alpha Protocol is one of the best games of this decade.. Game where your choices do indeed matter. But it's a stand-alone game, a lot harder to build a trilogy.. BioWare should probably try out a stand-alone as well.
Fallout 3 was not a good game, maybe medicore. Certainly very far from its predecessors greatness.

lol yeah - maybe if you spam through every dialogue and skip Overlord, LotSB, and arrival and some loyalty missions.
Oransel, I pretty much agree with everything you said. You have guts to post that too with all the fanboys around here.
I would also like to add, Bioware doesn't have the guts to face their fans in a public forum and stand up for their game - what does that say?

huh....wow....um....best games? woooo....... to each his own i guess.
and BW HAS made standalone games......Jade Empire and KOTOR just to name two.
edit: Alpha Protocol had soooo much potential. I couldnt get past level design and wonky gameplay. The weapon customization was nice. I preordered it the day i saw a thing about in a magazine over a year before the ORIGINAL planned release date....and date that got bumped cuz some executive said the game was tooo hard. I still own it though...i would be willing to give a sequel a try.

Do you even know what an opinion is? You saying blue is the best color is an opinion.
Saying the game has auto dialogue, choices did not matter, no ME2 characters as squadmates...are facts. Put the crack-pipe down and open a dictionary.
