Am I the only one that didn't recognize Isabella and Merril were in DA:O? I remember their roles in DA:O just not their names and it wasn't until I read their Wiki that I found out

The Merrill in DAO was basically just a cardboard cut-out who could cast a few spells. All I remember about her was that she had dark hair and she was First to the Keeper.

Isabela was more memorable if you were a rogue because you had to deal with her in order to unlock the Duelist specialization. Plus, she was into group sex.

I can see how someone could not recognize Merrill, if they never played Dalish elf origin. I find it more difficult to understand not recognizing Isabela. From the moment the first trailers came out there were "OMG, is that teh same Isabela?!" threads here in the forums.

The elven blood mage should've been someone new imo :<. It would've been nice to have new characters.

It is kinda dumb having eather of them carry over from DAO. They are nothing like they were. Might at well made whole new characters.

I'll say this...Everyone knew about Isabella. She went black and never came back, makes me wonder the horrors she saw on the sea shore.

Merril on the other-hand I saw no resemblance, the personality and appearance is different. has this been officially confirmed that she is the Merril from DA:O?

Yes, she really is the same Merril. She will mention Mahariel when you import a Dalish warden.

Merrill and Isabela were new characters. That they happened to show up for a couple of minutes beforehand doesn't make them old characters. They barely qualify to be called such in Origins.

Wasn't it mentioned that Isabela was black in Origins, but the lighting in the area lightened her complexion? I don't see the big deal with either Isabela or Merrill. I thought they were good characters.

Merill = Tali for Dragon Age.

That alone turned me off of the character.

To be fair, Isabela makes it pretty clear she "met" the Hero of Ferelden when Hawke first meets her...
