Sure. I need to make my own Geth Hopper support thread. I already started a new Mass Effect Theory thread.

No way, Adept all the way and they were a breeze.

Unless on Insanity. Then they can be annoying. Mainly when there are other enemies to fight.

Praetorians would be quite interesting, actually.

I luv my Geth Hopperz, but the Quarians blew them up Image IPB

What if one of the dlc's like Omega had us fighting those adjutants from Invasion, then maybe they could become new enemies for the Multiplayer.

thats why I added them in my Spectre MP DLC, because I wanted to fight them

I personally loved it. To me, that final assault by the Reaper forces before you Anderson picks you up and you make the dash to the beam takes the place of an ordinary 'boss fight'. Having one single boss to fight after that point just wouldn't have fit imo. I liked the other 'boss' encounters throughout the game, and thought they fight fine in their respective slots as well.

Yea, although I would have liked for something extra-ordinary at that missile scene instead of fighting a bunch of brutes and Banshees. Say like an abnormally large brute which hasn't developed properly and is all distorted. That would have been cool.

The only reason I DO mind not having a boss battle is because Harbinger got sidelined the whole game and we never heard him say anything...

It would have been cool to have a real boss battle at the end or even something different in that last fight before you charge to the beam. Techically you could say that the final boss is the marauder you fight half dead limping toward the beam.

Yea I was writing a fanfic a while back, but I'm no writer so I kind of gave up on it.

But I was going to have the Citadel beam as a trap and anything that goes through is immediately sent into tubes for processing a Reaper. In the fanfic the Citadel was "the womb" of all Reaper births. Closing the arms let's the Reaper birth at an incredibly fast rate with all the Citadel's occupants.

To the point, the boss battle in this ending was going to be something similiar to ME2. You get to the Citadel via TIM having a last minute change of heart and opening the arms after seeing the Reaper being born and only realising then how futile his attempts at controlling are, then you'd have to fight through wards to get to the presidium. And once there, have some sort of boss battle with the Reaper, and because it wouldn't have been 'born' yet. It would be signifcantly less powerful. Like the one in ME2.

I disagree with the FAQ. The only other ending that I might be inclined to pick is Control, for a megalomaniac Shepard. No one in their right mind would pick Synthesis or Destroy.

No one in their right mind should pick synthesis, but the way I look at is the goal since ME1 has been to destroy the reapers. Since the War Assets are useless so no matter what your EMS is,  if you refuse you get screwed but if you destroy at least you complete the goal of the trilogy. Still hate the endings but destroy is the one I would choose right now

and Jade any boss fight would be better than the marauder and husks on your way to the beam. I did wish there would be a fight with TIM and not just he kills himself or you shoot him

I would have been fine with no boss battle if the endings weren't so stupid, but now I would prefer one

Gears of War has a better ending than Mass Effect.

I think it only had one plot hole: If Imulsion was destroyed, how were they still piloting Ravens and stuff? Even then, that's sort of nitpicking.

Gears of War ending was "Meh" but it wasn't exactly horrible. Maybe its because I walked in there expecting little to begin with unlike some heavy gears enthusiasts. But I ultimately found the ending could have been a hell of a lot worse.

Not exactly sure how that could happen with ME by contrast.

It wasn't amazing or anything, but it was acceptable, which is what makes it better than ME3.

Gears spoilers*

Yea i've always been a pretty big gears nut, since GoW1.

So I kind of found the ending a bit stale at first. After all that time and all those hours, you just stab Myrra and that's it.

But then I realised it was Dom's Knife. And it occured after an AWESOME boss battle.

So I quickly came to like it.

Gears3 did the combat better. And with ME3's ending as it is now. They told their story (start to finish) much, much better also.

I never thought I'd say that.

It was always Gears > ME for combat.

ME > Gears for story.

Problematic.

thats how it should have been, Mass Effect was never about the combat, it was the story, the characters, and the RPG elements that made ME a great series

Does this mean that EPIC has a bigger fanbase than BioWare?

Because last time I checked, Gears of War didn't change to allow you to romance your squad.

This is the first time I've read this theory through in full, and I have to say I quite like it.

I do find it somewhat bizarre that the "Epic Shepard Speech = Victory" formulae suddenly falls so flat in the ending sequence.

I mean that Gears is great for its combat, and Mass Effect was great for everything else lol
