Surprisingly, I admit that I would be mad but the funny thing is that if they gave us a playable final battle with Harbinger or Mass Effect 4 (or DLC) through a refuse ending I would actually still continue to be a customer of theirs.

I have also a little hope. I wouldn't be (too) surprised that the Leviathan DLC at least adds some lines in the dialogue with the space troll, and/or gives us a either a decisive asset or crucial intel about the Crucible and the Reapers. It could be just a wishful thinking, but who knows...

I mean they would have made millions of the game's release & From Ashes DLC. But they would have also made and are still making money off those MP micro-transaction. It would add up to fair sum.

Despite all the whining we do, Bioware has a fanbase that other game developers wouldn't even dream of having, they don't need to throw it away.

It's not exactly an extended cut, the DLC itself would also add to the main body of the story, the alternate ending wouldn;t be the means of the dlc, just the end.
