What would you guys do if BioWare said "Hey guys! Guess what?! We were just trolling with you the entire time! Now here's DLC with the endings and everything else you guys want! Have fun!" right before the last DLC came out?

wow, that makes me pretty sad about it all.

Dark energy plot was Drew's idea. It was scrapped when he left. I don't think they're allowed to use it. That's why it wasn't heard of again.

Where was dark energy foreshadowed in Arrival?

I read that Kenson's team theorized that Object Rho drew energy from dark energy, though the exact process for this was unknown. It had something to do with the vast amounts of energy required to emit signals via quantum entanglement and through infrasound (which causes fear in humans and is a known tool in the indoctrination process).

I would love it if a combination of your puzzle theory and the IT end up being proven right at some point. Time will tell! And great job putting it all together!

So to speak despite that we got an ending, we would get a different ending once the Multiplayer campaign is over? That would actually fit their otherwise totaly blown up promises, but it will take time.

Yeah, and will also not undo whatever insane crazy shenanigans they pulled to make this happen. This is an exercise in trolling the entire fanbase, and even if it will eventually happen, it will be remembered with a mix of scorn and pain and belated satisfaction. Probably what twin/triplet/quadruplet/etc mothers think of their children's births.

But, if Bioware did this wouldn't that still make them @ssholes? For not only making most of this game's plot pointless, but for charging full price for an incomplete game?

It's still a complete game because we did get endings. Which would still be valid even after additional ones. It's not like they'd be releasing "the" ending, just "another" one. Sure, it might have a better outcome, but that's because it would be required to be able to not only gather fan feedback to implement into it, but also too let players actively participate in the Reaper war outside of Shepard's shoes, in the MP and operations.

edit: @ Debi-Tage, thank you! Image IPB Wasn't just me though...

Maybe, but hater's gonna hate. Some of the people who would look back on it negatively may be some of the people who like it as it is now. But I strongly believe that the overal reaction would be positive. If the whole concept of why it had to be set out this way is grasped.

Optimism is great, really, I really hope that your theory is how it really ends up being. Then they would certainly have pushed the envelope and done the most elaborate trolling attempt ever made, and certainly the most expensive one. If they do this properly, they might be vindicated by history-- they can still do it, actually, and pretend that was the plan all along... But I have this nagging suspicion that they won't and this is just a hopeful theory that won't come to pass.

Sorry.

Would also make sense with Mike Gamble saying "If people knew what we have planned the reaction would be different.". Just a few days after release and all hell broke loose.

I don't even know how to feel about any of the endings or theories anymore. I think I have reached a point where I just try to repress every memory that has anything to do with the ending.

I've got a better system...

Keep up the faith, and whenever it seems like it's getting to you.. Just swear about the endings. It's like turrets syndrome. But it works. Image IPB

Funny to think about the endings, no matter what they change, when or if they change them. I still have to go through priority:earth to see them. I dont care if they are bad, i cant be assed to reach them anyway.

I never played the game, which is probably a good thing. The TV show was awesome though! It was definitely one of my favorites.

The game was really stupid. I'd rather replay the Mass Effect 3 endings lol

Ouch. It must have been pretty bad then.

At this point I don't care any more. Whatever they release, I'll buy. I'm done being butt-hurt about the ending.

Wow. You have no idea how happy your post just made me. I wish everyone had your attitude. :)

Amen to that. Before any alterations to endings are made, that wonderful example of the Xen Syndrome should be re-made, preferrably from the ground up.

The idea isn't so that you have to have played multiplayer to have access to additional endings. It's just about the people that do, are actively participating in the war, outside of Shepard's shoes. Assisting in new intel etc... So that everyone could receive them :)

I have to admit, out of all the "better endings" things out there, this one is my favorite. I loved the original endings and EC made them even better, but since I'll buy all the ME3 DLC anyway, it will be interesting to see this become reality.

Then there still will be people iffed by the game's ending. Fact of life. They vehemently refuse to change the two things that make the people most dissatisfied with the game: the lackluster samey final level (when it could've been epicky epic of epic proportions) and at the very least the use of the Crucible in the end. Your theory proposes how to fix the second problem, but the first is still gonna be there.
