That is very interesting about Catalyst controlling them through Harbinger, I never got that impression from the Leviathan dlc....

Do you know where it's mentioned in the dlc itself?

I haven't played Leviathan, but in the Leviathan section of Harbinger's wikia it states that "Through Harbinger, the Catalyst directs the Reapers to harvest the galaxy of advanced life every 50,000 years."

No cited reference.

Those guys there have an agenda, and they act like some sort overlords. Weak

Ah okay. I tried making a thread about it but I didn't really get a straight answer. I'm guessing though that the Leviathan DLC didn't explicitly say that Harbinger is the bridge between the Catalyst and the rest of the Reaper fleet.

In that case, nevermind.

In no way shape or form, by any measure, could anything said in Leviathan be even interpreted as saying that.
Those guys are on a power trip and say some of the dumbest things lol

They despise anything remotely related to IT and have been caught inserting unverified content that discredits it. They have been called on it and have been shamed into removing certain things. They're also absolute jerks to almost everyone

Why hate IT? Do they like the endings or something?

They reign over the wiki like they're gods. Total power tripping narcissism. Same reason a lot of people hate IT. They don't take the time to learn about it. Disagreeing, I get. Hate...I dunno. They seem pretty hateful to people on all sides honestly. Some very odd birds over there lol

IT sounded kind of desperate when it started out...it's since adopted a couple of intelligent ideas, but to me all it is is a reminder that hope is simultaneously man's greatest strength and its greatest weakness :P.
And what we're doing with this theory is so very, very different.

I'm going to ask the wikia about that quote. I'm not sure they have proof of it.

Soldiers of the Milky Way –

Congratulations must be extended to the troops that helped pull off Operation OVERDRIVE. Through your ability to mobilize quickly and work under pressure, many lives were saved. I want you all to take strength from your accomplishments today. You will need that strength in the days to come.

We have received eye-witness testimony of Collectors on the battlefield. This has been confirmed by our researchers who have been busy analyzing the Cerberus data recovered from Operation PATRIOT. The Collectors emerged from dark space on relatively low-velocity transport ships, allowing them to maintain a low profile while our attention was focused on the Reapers. It is believed that their arrival was meant to function as deadly reserves, wiping out pockets of resistance while our troops engaged the Reapers.

The Collectors are formidable enemies, but they will not find us so easy to wipe out. When the time comes, you must all be ready to face them.

wow, just wow. This is big. The twitter comment is just Mike telling people to play the game, of course he's going to say now, it's not like a BioWare dev would EVER *not* tell someone to return to the game.. lol

But that operation report... Just wow, I cannot WAIT for Omega now because if it confirms in that that the Collectors actually came from dark space and not from beyond the Omega 4 relay then that's a bold statement from Hackett just now.

Of course some of them came from dark space. Why? The reapers took some of the prothean husks home with them as pets. We should have seen some in this invasion cycle, but BW wanted to show off their latest creation of Cannibals first.

Their purpose I'd guess would be to rebuild the Collector Base for local reaper production. We blew up their factory or not, in the latter case the want to re-man it and fire up the production again. One has to admire their tenacity.

Stupid cuttlefish.

So Leviathan scared everyone into thinking Destroy was bad and that Synthesis was the only way. I think this one is going to also reinforce Synthesis, and possibly Control to a degree. The next one should be out around the end of December and should further reinforce Synthesis, but may add a case for Destroy. Whether we see another one around the beginning of March is another story and if so it will set the canon for the series. It won't change the ending. I think it will be the bridge DLC.

Synthesis was only reinforced by Leviathans because it's what THEY want. A true union between flesh and machine. Because why did this whole cycle thing start? Because Leviathan couldn't control synthetics. Intertwine an organic mind and synthetics.. and now they can!

I wouldn't mind if they finally dropped a successful "refuse" ending (that really would be the most satisfying way to end the game), but I'm not sure if they will, much less that such an elaborate "real ending" plan is feasible. If we've learned anything over the years, it's that EA/Bioware can be quite scatterbrained and short-sighted when it comes to the big picture.

If "Puzzle Theory" is true, however, then I'm faced with a personal conundrum. On one hand, I'd willingly pay through the nose to "fix" ME3. On the other hand, this is dirty salesmanship at its best--why the hell should I pay for a game twice? Ick ick double ick.
