So the op is selling that the true ending is coming because of what people are doing in MP? Hmm, it might be right. The latest MP is called Retaliation. I was like how could the Reapers retaliate. I thought they were winning everywhere.. Now, it seems they need to call reinforcements, and the dowmload is free. The only problem with the theory is that some people don't have internet connection. It seems like they are being left out.

true but the people that are complaning have internet connections so who to carter to?

As promised, I read it, and I like it.

Varying levels of refusal success appeals to me, especially if the best one (after the puzzle is complete) is a golden one. I'd like to believe that this isn't the end.

As well, I'd like for all of this effort they're putting into multiplayer to be leading up to something bigger, rather than just trying to keep people interested in purchasing equipment packs.

Internet connection is an issue though. How are they going to sell the ending to people without XBL or PSN? (I assume Origin ME3 requires internet)
EDIT: You've pretty much cleared that up in the post below this. Thanks.

This angst and pain everyone who hates the endings feels right now. That's part of the battle, and another way of BioWare trying to put you in Shepard's shoes and feel how they may or may not feel.

Wet willies and Indian burns for the entire BioWare team if this turns out to be true.

So yeah, sounds good for the most part. You've gained another supporter.

Though, if it's all the same to you, until this comes true I'm still picking destroy in my playthroughs. As it is, the current refusal cutscene knocks the wind out of me. (Liara, oh god why.)

Cheers.

This is a frequently raised concern, and I can answer it.

While people participating in the MP are actively fighting the Reaper War. It's not only those people that will have access to the dlc. It's the community fighting so everyone can get it..

If it's the actual download you're asking about... Well, the same could be said about Broken Steel dlc for Fallout 3.. Or the epilogue for Prince of Persia. Or Azura's Wrath ending (so I hear).

What most of these games have in common is that they are released again sometime later as an "ultimate edition" where it has all the dlc included in the game.

I had a friend who didn't have the net and she was really annoyed she couldn't learn about her backstory in Fallout New Vegas. But once the ultimate edition dropped. She swooped it up and has stopped complaining now (finally).

So there are many ways around it. But I don't think it's a big concern for EA. I read an article a while back from one of the higher-ups claiming that EA are looking to go completely digital (online-stores). Now *that* would ****** those internet-less people off me thinks.

You're not alone there Posted Image

The first time I chose refuse with my canon thinking it was some big IT reveal. I was like "YES, YES!" as Shepard spoke her true mind for the first time in that scene! Then the result just had me completely flabbergasted. Then I started crying.

So I had to reset, reload and choose destroy.

As it stands destroy is for my canon. Refuse goes to the rest. It just hurts to much to pick refuse with my canon, knowing in advance that it will result in a loss.

I wish a DLC would be released that let you visit the Consort again. She could give you a mysterious object and say something cryptic - like in ME1. Then when you get to starbrat, the object lights up and opens the door to a successful refuse. "Shepard, when all is lost, this will light your path."

Honestly, I thought Eve's Crytsal would do that....

That's another thing, there are so many plot points that are just dropped in the end...

Hell, Liara's secret project had to be left to fan ideas to be implemented in the refusal ending!

So I had a thought earlier today that the reason there is no allied operations for a while is because of the Omega dlc delay. This would mean that the operations are, in fact, planned in advance to work in accordance with the dlc schedule.

Thoughts?

Sounds like to me they are biding time..

The special Halloween challenge was extended due to the severe weather in North America (which knocked out power for millions of people, some of whom are still without).

I was already aware of that. But even still the challenge started on thurs morn here, wed morn there I believe and was meant to run for 48 hours. Would they instantly put up another challenge for the weekend anyway?

Bottom line, these new individual challenges seem a lot more flexible than the squad ones.

I absolutely love this theory and hope that it, or something like it, comes to pass. I too went through the conversations and picked refuse my first time through. And I was devastated that it resulted in a poor ending. Took me a few months to play through the trilogy again because I was so upset.

Me too, and honestly, even on my bad days I still just come back to that speech.. THAT DAMN SPEECH!

It's just too good to amount to nothing, it's the kind of speech that would defeat a mear mortal just by uttering the words! If only that Child was mortal...

But yes, on my bad days. I think IT is a stretch and they actually believe that these immoral and infinite choices are great. On my bad days I don't think they realize how you can make the Reapers beatable without a super weapon, just by good writing (re: Leviathan). Lastly, on my bad days I think that BioWare believe Shepard's character and squadmates actually received sufficient closure.

However, on my bad days. That speech is just still too darn good to amount to nothing.
