Turned out to be a success.

From: Admiral Steven Hackett
Re: Operation OLYMPUS

Distribution: N7 Forces Only
Soldiers of the Milky Way –

I am pleased to report that Operation OLYMPUS has netted us extremely valuable intel. With N7 troops engaging the enemy, the Resistance was able to lure a Reaper destroyer into a kill zone and bring it down. They were able to retrieve portions of its memory databases before withdrawing from the battlefield.

While we do not yet know what this new data will reveal, rest assured it will be put to good use. I don’t need to tell you that logs from a Reaper’s memory could prove invaluable. If we can decipher when and why it received the orders it did, we can start to predict their battle strategies, and that improves our chances both on Earth and throughout the galaxy.

The geth viewed the Reapers as gods, creatures beyond our understanding. We know that’s not true. We may not have knocked them off their pedestal today, but we have come one step closer to seeing them fall.

Why all the hate about buying dlc? I got an idea you might like then, go to work and don't get paid for it. MP free cause micro transactions will pay for it. As for op, I agree with you 100%. No one likes people that think out side the box tho. Omega is the next dlc. Who knows, mabey omega is a big ass gun. Why would Cerberus want it. Aria proboy hiding it, since.shes so happy to share info and all. Firefight contains .omg. files. Look it up on line. And as for the last operation any one know what time data extracted from? Let alone day? If its over for me at 8am Monday and I don't get packs till 8pm teusday, that mean 36 hours it takes to figure out. So that puts last numbers pulled at 8pm Saturday night. And I for one didn't play till Sunday and I did 15 or 16 games. Call bs? You crunch the numbers then and be happy you got what you did. Pissed off Krogan out!

I call it the Miracle of Olympus. It has its own Codex and everything. They told us we were only about 30% of the way there when there were only about 20 hours left.

^ It's a theory, yes.

Especially after we pulled off a "miraculous" win this past weekend after the initial numbers looked terrible.

Either way, makes no difference to me. I'm having fun with the MP weekends, looking forward to Leviathan DLC and I would ultimately love it if all of this stuff unlocked a better version of refuse.

I still think there will be a hell of a sh*tstorm if people are asked to pay more to play the ultimate ending.

I prefer to think of it as paying for the extra playable content, and getting the ending as a free bonus.
also to Jade great theory, I hope it is true.

Oh! I just remembered Omega and how in one of the comics (Invasion, I think), it was stated that Cerberus had some research stations at the other end of the Omega 4 relay. Just wondering what they found there.

Also, we never get to fight the Adjutants (a kind of husk) in-game so maybe we will in the Omega DLC if they ever release it? Maybe Shepard get to go to that research station and learn some valuable intel? Just thinking out loud here

That middle section is interesting, remember when the Reapers moved the Citadel, Hackett or Anderson mentioned "they caught us completely by surprise"?

Could this intel we are only pulling from the MP now, help prevent the Reapers moving the Citadel to Earth?

Unlikely.

Could it help the galaxy prepare more for the attack on the Citadel? So when the Reapers advance to take it, there are fleets and fighters ready to defend it?

Possibly.

Or could it be setting the stage for Leviathan? With the databases containing some ancient knowledge of Leviathan's existence/location?

It's known that Hackett is the one to present you with the mission for Leviathan. And that it's based on his intel, is this where he received his intel from?

Also a possibility.

Anyone else have thoughts on this message?

I guess you could believe one way or the other. But I dont know, maybe some operations are. Maybe some aren't.

Operation Silencer (which was failed) I dont believe was a scripted fail. But just because it was rather insignificant it didn't matter whether we won or lost.

In this operation however, if it is suggested that's where Hackett received his intel on Leviathan. It could have been a scripted win.

I'd prefer to believe that it's not. And the fans just made an outstanding rally to win the operation. Spurred by the ideals that Shepard carries about there always being a light in the darkness, always being a way out... If you work for it.

Still hard to believe we managed to complete the operation with 20 hours left and 70% to go. Anyone care to speculate about the possibilities? Or speculate that it was rigged? I don't think it was rigged.

What if we lose too much of these MP events? Do we lose the conventional war in that case? :s
If that is the case, it is up to all of us if we get the good ending or not.

Oh God, I just read the original post, and I really hope they don't tie a better ending to doing multiplayer.

I really don't have time for multiplayer, nor do I particularly care for it. I've been a ME fan since ME1, I shouldn't be punished for not liking multiplayer when I got involved with Mass Effect because it was a single player game.

I like this theory, but then again I also liked the idea of indoctrination theory...

Here's  hoping that maybe this has some cred and the coming SP DLC is worth it. That would certainly make me want to "hold onto my ME3 copy forever".

My guess is that if that were the case, the only multiplayer tie-in would be the syncing of multiplayer weekend missions coinciding around DLC. In other words, you'd still get the single player stuff in the end, when it was ready. The multiplayer just increases immersion if you want it.

Two things to note here are;

1) You wont be punished in any way shape or form. The dlc that would allow this would not be exclusive to only the people who have participated in multiplayer operations.

2) BioWare originally felt the same way as you did in incorporating a Multiplayer into their game. Stating that they'd only ever do it in a way that was relevant to the story. Teamwork and unity. Hence why it's co-op, not PvP.

I believe that because of this, the operations that they perform could ultimately lead to greater intel and better rewards for the SP campaign.

Very interesting theory; makes sense to continually release these operations to sustain community engagement as well as building up side lore that contributes to a single player alteration.

Suppose it makes the entire game feel like one longer war if you are taking place in a lot of these multiplayer matches and contributing to a truly galactic war rather than your own personal EMS.

Exactly, not only this, but all those people everywhere that were always thinking, "wouldn't Mass Effect be cool if we could play as a Turian or Asari?"

Well, if the MP contributes as heavily to SP as suggested in this theory, then technically you are playing as these characters helping against the war with the Reapers.

I've been hoping something would come from these MP weekends for a while now.

Let us feel like we actively fought in the reaper war across the galaxy -- and while I do really like this theory, I almost find it too good to be true.

I just saw your post about Priority Earth dlc. Your thread and mine could coincide.

As you're right, ME3 went out with a whimper instead of a bang.

I'm making a short video about PT soon, you should check it out :)
