Possibly. I'm hoping that possibly, we could get a new squadmate. I hope that possibly, we will find some of the last remaining parts of the crucible. Think about what the catalyst says: "Your crucible appears to be largely intact, but it isn't finished(?).  Maybe we'll find a form of ancient IFF that can be installed into the crucible that discriminates synthetics down to the reapers themselves?

Or, maybe you find out that a reaper IFF would make it only hit reapers, so, you have to choose between taking the one from the Normandy or going through a dangerous mission to get a new one.(if you take the Normandy's one Harbinger blows it up. You know what'd be more heartwrenching? If you'd have to sacrifice your 2 squaddies you brought with you to get the reaper IFF.

depends on who they are. I'd take Liara(YAY she'd be dead.) and I'd also take EDI's mobile platform. It would die, but she'd survive.

i wish i felt like ME3s story was even worth wasting my time exploring all these different theories. some of them are really intriguing and would really be satisfying to those that partake.

but id bet money on bioware doing nothing like any of them.

I tend to agree. I believe there's a reason why the ending was so ambiguous.

That would make everything so much better. I'd even tolerate the brat if this happened (and my dream ending is the IT kind, the kind where none of this silliness even happened).  This seems like a nice out too. It doesn't detract from the other endings, retcon them and it goes along with what the kid said himself ^. It makes sense you can add components to the crucible, it IS a machine after all (and it runs on magic...). Great idea btw I didn't even remember the brat saying that . Puzzle theory, intact crucible theory , IT theory whatever I just  want to be THIS Fry again.

No no no that's not artistic enough and it clearly makes too much sense But in all seriousness I was expecting an ending like that while I was playing ME3 for the first time.

Yeah Keith had been saying this for ages, amoung others. It is strange the Catalyst words it like that. In fact, a lot of the Catalyst's answers are strange.. Especially when you ask about the Crucible....

Btw, what'd Riferno get banned for?

Yeah, this was the other popular theory. I would *love* for that to be the case, but if destroy were to be tampered with like that, it would be hard to alter the breath scene as well. I still wouldn't be content with a destroy ending that doesn't kill EDI or the Geth but still ends with that damn breath scene.

I'd probably take 2 characters I like in order to experience the most heartwrenching effect. That means Liara and Javik.

I think we'd all love an expansion. More time added onto the ending couldn't really be a bad thing. Give us an hour epilogue like MGS4 lol.

No, not expecting that much lol. But we need something more rewarding, something that makes you feel like a proper victory had been achieved.

A good way to do it if there isn't some kind of IT/refuse hybrid would be to fight the Reapers head on after refuse, then Normandy can pick up Shepard and then Harbinger can show up and there can be an epic showdown between the two. The Normandy is pretty darn quick, would Harbinger be able to hit it?

Edit: wow. He was getting worse and worse, I guess him saying something like that was only a matter of time. It's good the mods were paying attention.

I think that MGS4 has the record for the longest videogame cutscenes. 98 minutes I think. And if BioWare would manage to wrap up ME3 only half as good as MGS4 did, I'd still be extremely satisfied.

Personally, I don't think a conventional victory exists. The reapers outnumber the fleets and they are smarter and have better weapons technology. And even if a conventianal victory is possible, I really don't think there'll be much of a galaxy to return to. I think it'd end up kinda like low EMS destroy, just without destroyed relays. Earth and all other major planets would still be in ruins, though, not to mention the small outlying colonies would cease to exist.

Another cool thing would be if the crucible turns out to have an alternate function to release its energy. What if it sends out a worm that uploads itself into the reapers? The reapers wouldn't be destroyed, but their IFFs would be scraambled, meaning they wouldn't be able to see friend from foe. They'd simply kill each other! This would allow a conventional victory depending on your EMS score as well.
