i forgot about that mass accelerator. that has potential to become a piece of the puzzle

The mass accelerator would make sense, but it was also ridiculously powerful. I mean, it had to be thousands of times more powerful than the guns on our dreadnaughts  to do that to a reaper from so far away. So, it was probably like the size of like New York City or something ridiculous like that in order to be that powerful.

Any thoughts that the Mass Accelerator round could have been fired from an incomplete crucible that that cycle had attempted to build?

It was stated that the shot was a "last defiant attempt to strike back before being utterly destroyed".

Glad to see this thread still going; just played through Leviathan for the first time a few days ago (I thought it was great for what it was btw) with PT in mind.

My wife and I are both working on another playthrough (mine after I wrap up my Liara romance in ME2) and I'll keep an eye out for more related snippets.

Thanks! On both counts! Image IPB

I have a hard time believing that the people who delivered so well on so many things we as fans asked for in ME3 (more RPG gameplay elements, same sex romance, etc.) that they would drop the ball so severely on the ending. They're not idiots... perhaps that is the thing keeping me from simply accepting the endings as they are..

I agree, that's where my speculation about them leaving it open for fan feedback came from. People were so focused on what they wanted out of the actual story pre-release that there wasn't much room for what they wanted in the ending.

I'm also not one to believe that the people at EA are some kind of evil overlords who want to stifle creativity. Even if all they care about is money, they aren't stupid either and anyone with any business experience knows how important recurring customers are... it all just boggles my mind.

I don't believe they stifle creativity. But I do believe they are an impatient publisher, and that impatience, indirectly, stifles creativity.

I've got a weird feeling since the anniversary of the game's release is coming up and we're hearing all about this next DLC... I don't remember if it was mentioned in the OP but it just *feels* like they're planning something. Hard to explain... argh.

lol just update the OP and fogot to include speculation on the next one. Will do it when I write up the Refusal and Indoctrination section :)

Also, I'm getting these butterfly feelings too.. But I don't know if I want to get excited just yet...

Difference is this time I'm getting those feelings independently of the forums since I'm rarely on here any more.

That's not such a bad thing though, is it? Image IPB

98 pages?
You know what this game is missing?
A UFO ending.
Oh wait...

Edit: Maybe a Dog ending, then?

On the topic of the Mass Accelerator being a Crucible, it was speculation by TIM and he said that Cerberus had rcovered it. I think TIM would know if the Crucible was like the weapon used to put a hole through the Derelict Reaper. But, I suppose it could have been a much older make of the Crucible. Several reimaginings of the device could have happened between that cycle and ours.

It still makes little sense that you'd manage to win with such a huge amount of your war asset basically wasted (everything that went into the crucible). Now, if you could regulate how much asset you put in what, like putting all your technicians on developing a mass Nuke Launcher army and making all your dreadnaughts overpowered, instead of spending it on a McGuffin you won't use, well, that's a different story.

Brace yourselves, after this thing hits 100 pages a mod's going to close it like the IT thread.

The IT one was over 3100 pages, and we still stay fairly close to the topic. Also, the fanfic support group hasn't been shut down and it's over 230, with a decent amount of tangents.

The IT in total was rougly 8000 pages, from all the Marks.

This thread is significantly less and most importantly, is still developing itself as a theory. and will continue doing so as long as there are new dlc's to come out.

This is very different from IT.

about the mass accelerator, its not unbelievable for it to be a failed crucible design. like stated the cruclble changed over time as each cycle added to it.

i forget how old TIM said the derelict reaper was. 50 million years i thought. So maybe it was the Keepers (whoever they once were) attempt at the crucible. If so it could work with the rumored Citadel dlc.

ps- the final puzzle piece is the Keepers. We gain them as War Assets and they show us a Keeper tunnel leading to the Catalyst AI core.

The crucible War Assets IIRC, didn't even make up a quarter of your overall War Assets.

Especially if you promoted a lot of mp characters. I have about 30 promotions and it gives you over 1500 ems. Also, why is it that we need so many Evil Midget Squids to beat the reapers?

I was going to place that in now, but I am going to wait until my next update, mainly because I like to link the success speech and not the operation presentation page.

Speculating on it as it stands however, this is the next operation after Operation Prophecy correct?

Well then it stands to reason that the "veteran" soldiers need a break if you look back at the success write-up for Prophecy.

I usually choose refuse despite interpreting the ending mostly the same as IT.  I view it as a way to break indoctrination if you believe that Shepard can realize that starbrat is lying rather than only the player realizing this.  One problem that I have with destroy is that when Shepard chooses it he should have no reason to believe such an action would actually destroy the Reapers(shooting the tube) and is showing himself to be vulnerable to hallucinations and illusions.  This could be used against him even if he resists indoctrination.

Of course I think that after thoroughly breaking indoc through refuse the Reapers kill you since they cannot use you.  I usually prefer to just shoot starbrat but there is one line that I do love in the refuse speech, "And if I die, I'll die knowing that I did everything I could to stop you.  And I'll die free."  I also like this fanmade ending video that goes with refuse:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEyXvVNmLsI

In my current playthrough EMS is as follows:

Total: 6958
Crucible : 355
Krogan: 855

so with that

Crucible = roughly 5% of total EMS
Krogan = roughly 12% of total EMS

Good thing I didn't waste that huge 5%......Image IPB

Jade, if this does turn out to be true, do you think we will be required to attain a certian galactic readyness percentage in each sector to unlock sucessful refuse?
