Now that Geth/Cerberus/Reaper forces are all working together in Platinum difficulty (Which makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE lore wise) we can expect everything else to go out the window.  Prothean Rifles were pushing it (Could possibly be duplicated with Javek's weapon), but this is just absurd.

For those that are not aware, regardless of whom your "fighting" enemies from all factions appear during platinum difficulty in same rounds & work together.

Multiplayer used to be a extension of the SP experience.  One could pretend to be a N7 operative fighting for strategic assets to help the resistance & creation of the crucible.  This is no longer possible with this change.  Why do we even flavor text for events at this point now that the lore of the ME universe is irrelevant?

This weekends event should say the following:

Operation BROADSIDE blah blah blah unicorns & space magic.  Art

Am I the only one who is upset with this change?

Lore is a terrible reason to limit the fun potential in multiplayer.

More important to keep MP fresh and interesting.

I think that lore wise it DOES make sense. The Geth that you fight against in MP are the heretical Geth that accepted Reaper code out of self defense against the renewed Quarian attack. I assume this would put them under control of Reapers. Cerberus is already using Reaper tech to indoctrinate their own troopers to the Cerberus cause. If the last two Mass Effect games have taught us anything, it's that messing around with Reaper tech makes you husky.

For those who are not capable of reading a paragraph it was sarcasm. The point I am making is, lore no longer has any bearing in MP. Therefore it is only logical to conclude that Protheans will be added despite the fact that Javek is the last Prothean because again, lore doesn't matter.

Protheans are no longer relevant. 

You can get the Particle Rifle and one of the new characters has Dark Channel.  There, every unique aspect about them has been brought to multiplayer.  Get over the Protheans.


And it DOES make sense lore-wise, Cerberus is indoctrinated, and not all of the Reaper controlled Geth were at Rannoch / the Geth Dreadnought.  But then again you can look at it as Platinum was not created to serve lore, but to quiet the overwhelmingly small minority who think Gold is too easy.

Nope, they're not confirmed confirmed... he just assumed that since supposedly now there will be many factions at the same time on Platinum, and he deems this wrong lorewise, then THAT blatant disregard for canon is an indirect "confirmation" that Protheans will be on multiplayer.

Also nay to the Protheanay! Hell even more so now that Javik's only distinctive power is on a new multiplayer character. Don't mind about the faction mixing, I won't be playing Platinum anyway, I'm barely good enough for gold.

Actually the Illusive Man was indoctrinated and fighting it while he used Indoctrination to control his troops. So basically the Illusive Man tried to turn himself into a mini-reaper but it kind of backfired. He never was under reaper control.

The Geth only used Reaper A.I. contstructs to increase their own power and weren't really under reaper control either. Well I guess it depends on what part of the ME3 story you're in for if they're under reaper control or not. Ok so yea they were until deep into the story later.

So erm yea ..... Just some food for thought ....
