Protheans in Upcoming DLC?! A Rant

the same people always cry at things like the proposed movie: "canonising" this and that: it's not, it doesn't so don't go around spoiling it for those that do want these things.

There was no leak. This thread is just for people who enjoy throwing petty insults at each other.

Protheans are no longer relevant.
You can get the Particle Rifle and one of the new characters has Dark Channel. There, every unique aspect about them has been brought to multiplayer. Get over the Protheans.
And it DOES make sense lore-wise, Cerberus is indoctrinated, and not all of the Reaper controlled Geth were at Rannoch / the Geth Dreadnought. But then again you can look at it as Platinum was not created to serve lore, but to quiet the overwhelmingly small minority who think Gold is too easy.
Slam. Also, one character having a power doesn't mean that it is impossible to give to anyone else. We have a bunch of characters with Warp, does that mean that no one else can have Warp? Protheans are wanted by a large portion of the playerbase, they would bring new life to this dying game and they would be easy to add. Get over yourself.
Warp is completley different, it has been around since ME1.
Dark Channel is unique to the protheans because the only person who had it was Javik, and then Shepard through the Bonus Power, and now it's in multiplayer. People aren't demanding Slam, since it's subpar at best, and the prothean would most likely play as a Human with roll and mobility, or the Quarian with the sideways jump. They didn't show any other Prothean exclusive powers, and to make up new ones for the Protheans would break lore even more, which contrary to your belief, a LOT of Mass Effect fans care about. Get over yourself.

I've got it! The ultimate single player / multiplayer tie-in! From now on, game lobbies will not be matched by N7 ranking or experience or anything like that. They will be matched based on each player's decisions throughout the Mass Effect storyline!
Please, please note obvious sarcasm.

Cerberus Troops could be indoctrinated.
Same goes for Geth, they even were controlled by Reapers in the main story!
Here's a thought:
Why would un-indoctrinated geth and cerberus troops set up indoctrination boosters?
They don't they ARE indoctrinated!
And that's why they work together - because they're on the same side.

After the Geth mission no matter what happens Admiral Hackett mentions that the Reapers have retained several Geth bodies and have uploaded their own code into them to continue to fight.
The "Geth" we fight aren't true Geth anyway.
And Cerberus troops can be controlled by Reapers when they are in close enough proximity.

to read my post? Warp was an EXAMPLE, not an actual complaint. The point of it was to
show you that just because one character has it does not mean that another
can't too (see Asari Adept vs. Human Sentinel). People want Protheans, not just
Prothean powers. Slam was not the main demand, it was a nice side power that
Javik also offered because, and I just know this is going to blow your mind, SQUADMATES
OFFER TWO BONUS POWERS. It set a sort of precedent for Protheans and
their way of playing (at least the biotic ones, assuming there are even any
non-biotic Protheans). And if you think Slam is "subpar", then you
obviously weren't using Javik to his full potential (or possibly at all).
I actually laughed when I read "the prothean
would most likely play as a Human with roll and mobility, or the Quarian with
the sideways jump." Have you even played MP? There are SIX variations,
only 3 of which are unique (Drell, Asari, Vorcha). You get these choices in
terms of mobility:
1.
The Human roll dodge
2.
The Quarian/Geth/Salarian hop
3.
The Krogan/Turian/Batarian brick
4.
Your own new/unique dodge
Who are you to say that the Protheans won't get a unique
dodge or one of the lesser used ones (Asari would fit well)? The Turians and
Batarians are pretty humanoid, but they got the fatty treatment. You are not in
a position to judge the mechanics of a character type that you have yet to use
yourself.
There were other powers showcased in Javik's
cutscenes that were unexplained, they could be possible new powers that have
yet to be expanded upon. And unless you are in possession of knowledge of the
Prothean Empire's history, both politically and socially, that exceeds that of
Dr. Liara Tsoni's expertise, then I suggest you stop making assumptions about
their battlestyles and biotic techniques. Besides, it wouldn't "break
lore" to introduce new powers, I didn't see anyone complaining about
Submission Net, Ballistic Blades or Tactical Scan, but that might just be due
to the fact that not everyone is as whiny and entitled as you are making
yourself seem.
I am aware that people love lore because I am
among them. However, you don't seem to comprehend that lore is not as static as
history. 5 months ago, there were no Protheans left in the entire galaxy. Now
there's one. And he was found on the FIRST GODD*MN PLANET YOU VISIT
IN THE ENTIRE SERIES. If you believe
with total faith and certainty that it took until the 3rd game for someone to
notice an enormous underground bunker, you are beyond help. If the most
technologically advanced races in the entire f*cking galaxy couldn't notice an
immense stasis bunker in a planet that they obviously had some business on,
seeing as it was colonized and was already known to house Prothean technology,
then who are you to say that they didn't miss more?
Unless you can give me a complete map of the
Prothean Empire's reach and confirmed deaths for every single last one of them,
I will not believe that Protheans are all gone and that they can be brought
into MP. There could have been Prothean colonies in territory that remains untouched
by the modern cycle. Javik mentions that the Rachni were a formidable foe in
his cycle as well, as they used them to ravage planets as living weapons until
they went out of control, and we both know d*mn well that the only reason the
Rachni were a problem for the Council races was because they decided to
activate a dormant relay, something they have not done since. If the Protheans
weren't scared of opening unfamiliar relays, who are you to say that they
didn't colonize parts of this galaxy that this cycle have not even considered
entering?
If you don't want Protheans because of some
ridiculous idea that it would break the little pieces of lore Starchild left
behind, that's fine with me. But if you insinuate for even a second that it
makes me less of a fan to want the story to be able to evolve and for this
game's MP to survive, then you can go to hell.

Honestly, I could not have said it any better good sir. You just nailed every possible hardcore-stubborn-lore-donkey counter-arguments in one nice post. Kudos to you sir!
Fun-fact: 90% want Protheans.
Seeing as how BioWare has a positive reputation in responding with fan desires, I'm sure it will happen. Here's hoping the next DLC will feature them. Prothean rifle doesn't feel right without them.

Thank you. My first thread I ever created was actually an argument that Protheans will be included if not for any other reason than the fact that Bioware would not give up the opportunity to make money off of something that they already have made and tested. EA's influence would not allow them to miss out on such an easy profit, which made the argument solid in a business sense, and the fact that they are adding in Platinum mode means they are listening to their fans, which strengthens the "fans want it" part of the argument as well. It won't hurt anyone to incorporate them into the MP either. Opposing Protheans to the point of refusing to play as them isn't a product of a strong stance on the issue and a lot of willpower, it is marks a level of stubbornness that must be forced in able to achieve. For example, I harshly oppose the new N7 characters being added instead of expanding on alien races. Does that mean I'm not gonna play the sh*t out of them? Hell no! I was pissed for awhile (still am), but that doesn't mean that I'll always hate them, especially because they introduce new powers. The same would be true for people opposing Protheans, they will give in eventually, because no one can say no to a shiny new character.
Perhaps our Particle Rifles' beams will cross one day (when I finally unlock one

Also, the lore argument in general kinda lost its weight when nameless Alliance dispatcher told me to eliminate high-ranking personnel against the Geth and Reapers. Or that one time when I fought Geth on Thessia. Or that other time when... eh, you get the point.

For those who are not capable of reading a paragraph it was sarcasm. The point I am making is, lore no longer has any bearing in MP. Therefore it is only logical to conclude that Protheans will be added despite the fact that Javek is the last Prothean because again, lore doesn't matter.
They could and still be lore because Salarians can clone from DNA recovered from a dead body it was proven in SP that Salarian had tech that could so your state is invalid move on... Oh and those that think those are different groups did you not play story reapers controlled Geth some still are under reaper control same with Cerberus now are we on the same page
