Does it have to be a person w/in the ME universe? If not, then:

Sweet mercy of Madoka, that is terrifying! Catalyst's inane logic suddenly seems very methodical and well-planned with that hellspawn giving the exposition.

Even worse if you're playing FemShep. Then that creepy frakker will be purposefully trying to turn you into a magical girl through the dream sequences.

Hell, Kyubey's race probably made starbrat and then this happened:

Most people in here respond humourously, but I think I'll go with a serious answer.

The Catalyst should have switched between several important people in Shepard's life - Saren, TIM, the squadmate the player preferred through the trilogy (and maybe one from ME2 since so few of them can be used in ME3), LI, Virmire casualty, hell, maybe even Vigil. Not only because it would make it more obvious that the Catalyst does not really look like a human child, but also because it would add depth to the scene and give some props to some of the great main characters of the entire trilogy.

I would be psyched to see them as the Catalyst(s). Not only would they not talk nonsense, but they'd put on an amazing show.

I'd listen to anything Liam Neeson has to say. Anything that comes out of his mouth is about as holy as Morgan Freeman.

So much awesome in this thread.  Found more than twelve people I wanted to quote, so...um..er...:\\

Just gonna say, in seriousness:
Saren, some other proxxie, or those you care about. Could have had a new set of personal missions made to get to know a character/help them (Miranda/Garrus even had some really good oportunities for it) that determines which people you see, or somethin' like that.

And then, joking:

(
-Navi ("Hey! LISTEN!")
-The Smoke Monster/Jacob (Because I have the same loathing for Lost as the Catalyst)
-The Master from Fallout 1 (Someone(s) mentioned his similarity before)
-Gary from Fallout 3
-Jenna from My Inner Life
-A lobotomist (Not actually a word, apparently, but whatever)
-Pyramid Head (Rapes and mutilates canon)
-The computer from System Shock? 2?
-HAL
-The golem from Witcher 2
-Vanille or Hope frrom F.F. XIII
)

-GLaDOS
"Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said "Goodbye" and you were like
'No way!'
"And then I was all "We pretended we were going to murder you?" That was great!"

"Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test. "
(This is how I coped, actually. :P)

"
Well, you found me. Congratulations. Was it worth it? Because despite your violent behavior, the only thing you've managed to break so far... is my heart. Maybe you could settle for that, and we'll just call it a day. I guess we both know that isn't going to happen."

" Do you think I'm trying to trick you with reverse psychology? I mean, seriously, now.  "

(If you pick refuse maybe? ):
"This is your fault. I'm going to kill you. And all the cake is gone. You don't even care, do you?"

For some of it, if you stretch it enough, it's funny how much you could fit in from GLaDOS.

And then, thank you to these people for making awesome posts, totally agree. ;] :

+1 for Avina. This is a conversation for a VI, to tell Shepard how to kill the goddamn Reapers, not a time for a non sequitur deus ex machina dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.
Nice string of words there. ;]   You lose me at the end, though, guess I've got some looking up to do.

This and another quote I've seemed to lose that detailed other important people in the series.
Love the idea.  Also the Avina one.

Yes!
The only reason, I can imagine, no one else has responded to this is they're too young to know what Clippy is. ;]

migh work best with I.T. ending though...

Actually, it would work in any ending.  In TZ, sometimes the good guy even failed.

Commander Shepard, sapce marine, hero, icon.
Who learned too late that sometimes being the hero just isn't enough.
That when ego and artistic integrity collide no one comes out the winner.
Lesson to be learned in and out of the Twilight Zone.

CALIGULA

his quotes would even work for the head of the reapers.

"I have existed from the morning of the world and I shall exist until the last star falls from the night. Although I have taken the form of Gaius Caligula, I am all men as I am no man and therefore I am a God."

"Let them hate me, so long as they fear me."

Proculus:Divine Ceasar, PLEASE! What have I done? Why am I here?
Caligula: Treason!
Proculus: Treason? I have always been loyal to you!
Caligula: [laughs insanely] That IS your treason! You're an honest man, Proculus, which means a bad Roman! Therefore, you are a traitor! Logical, hmm? Ha, ha, ha!

Julia Drusilla:You are a fool.
Caligula: Caesar cannot be a fool!
Julia Drusilla: But he's trying very hard...
Caligula: Caesar cannot be a fool!
The quotes sold me, that's ridiculously awesome.

Wish I could think of a quote to add to the others.  All I got is, "Oh hai Shepard."

It depends. If we're looking for someone that could actually improve the catalyst's role, then I think Morgan Freeman or Liam Neeson would be great. They could lend appropriate gravitas to that role as the leader of the reapers (provided the entire premise of the ending was changed).

If we're going for changing the ending in terms of mocking the original, then Bruce Campbell would be perfect.

If we're just dropping someone into the same role as the catalyst, then the people who suggested Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, and Bruce Campbell should be ashamed of themselves for putting such great actors into such a horrible role. Jar Jar would work, but in truth, there's only one "person" who would fit that role appropriately:

Mr. Hankey

That way the villian can be a monster and the IT can still have a chance of being valid.

Did you really stop the reapers or just fall for aizens mind control and illusion powers.
