most of these things are common sense so it's not like you need to constantly be remembering some random tactic.xtorma wrote...

I'm not a grammar ****, it's just that it's so jarring when people use "then" when they mean "than".

The fact that there's 20 rules and your inability to realise the difference between "then" and "than" stopped me reading this.

The "then" and "than" thing happen once if that's all it takes for you not to read something you need to work on that, but I went through and edited the grammar.

Things like use rail amps/ammo shouldnt be up there. It is pretty common sense it will boost effectiveness. It just makes your list needlessly longer and tiring to read. Build suggestions are good though.
Heres a tip: Because it does not need to reload, the missiles on a devastator can always be fired. On other weapons the missiles will never fire during a reload cycle, but the overheat plasma vent does not seem like a conventional reload. So that 2.96 refire time is actually 2.96, not 2.96 + time it takes you to reload, come out of cover, and then have it fire.

I think EM and EB would be better for it.
Seriously? It has incredibly low damage

The gun could definitely use some sort of further buff or something but it isn't entirely useless. The range really killed it though.
I would like to see more people using it if they can handle it properly, of course. What an interesting weapon.

I try to cancel the animation with the destroyer but you need a decent cooldown to switch fast devastator mode on-off, if not it take longer than the normal reload.

Needs a decent cooldown. @level 1 the particle rifle gives me +40% on my destroyer. So if you want to use the trick youll need a good cooldown.

It will only work if your cooldown is higher 0. Also try to turn off Devastator Mode when the Particle Rifle ammo is at 20, by the time you use that 20 Devastator Mode should be back.

100 % cooldown so its pretty light and the destroyer reload ammo very fast with the trick.
The best caracter to use the particle riffle i think..

Because you lose 50 points automatically and the mod decreases this by a percentage (~60% at level V-check me on that). So if my guess is right at 60%, then you are still looking at 20 points of damage reduction, which leaves you with 5.8 damage per shot with level X on the rifle. This is .8 damage above the lowest possible to do to an enemy.
An extended barrel on the other hand would give you an extra 25% damage at level V. This will help you in a major way against shielded and health based enemies.
Of course all of this depends on my estimate for how the mod affects armor damage reduction, so if that is incorrect, please put the right number up.

Hold up. With the way that armor damage reduction works, isn't that kind of pointless to use the AP mod?

The main reason to use AP mod over EB is to do more damage to bosses and to pierce through walls/Guardian shields.
The Damage to Health and Shields is already so high in "hot mode" that you most likely won't notice the extra damage EB gives, but you will notice the lower damage to armor if you don't use the AP mod.

I currently prefer Warp ammo, but I haven't tested with the disruptor ammo yet - mainly because of my biotic-wielding friends (don't want to spoil their biotic explosions).
PPR is currently my favorite weapon in the game - melting faces off centurions is strangely alluring. You might want to try this one out. If you tried and did not like, it is probably because your playstyle is not "compatible" with the weapon.
But, as with everything, to each his own - some people will love the gun, some will not, but don't say the gun is garbage just because YOU cannot operate it effectively. Some of the players might skip it entirely because of your opinion and miss a great opportunity to step up their game.

I updated the builds and some of the info.
I will most likely update it again after Retaliation comes out.
Also: Does anyone know Ashen Earth's GI + PPR Build?
