So I'm currently working on an area, using the orz302d.arl layout. Now when I was testing the area in game I noticed there are several paintings of dwarves in that area. Since they don't really fit with the area's function in my module's story, I wanted to cover them up with various placeables, but when I opened the area in the toolset, I found that the paintings are not to be seen, and the walls in those locations appear to be blank. I turned off 'Fade cutaway' and set everything on 'show' but still no sign of the paintings. Anyone know what's happening there?
Area details are invisible in toolset

I as well have that problem... I placed several paintings in a level but by the time the level was placed inside an area (linked to an area) they were all invisible! I don't know why, just thought I'd add myself to this forum in hopes someone would post a solution...

I have a similar problem. I created a level, did the lightmaps, exported to all local posts. But when I open it as an area layout for my new area, some of the objects are gone (paintings).

Make sure, in the Level Editor, that the 'Export to Game' and 'Visible' properties are true on the objects.
Also, I believe if your mod is an addin, i.e. extends the main campaign, you need to Post to Local to the SINGLE PLAYER module, as well as your own. Switch the module to Single Player, load up your .lvl file and do a post to local there. Then switch back to your own module and load up your area.
If none of those work, then there's every possibility that the paintings are just broken. Doesn't make sense that everything else would work, but those won't.
