I've only ever played random games. Wonder what it would be like to play with people you know.

I've left quite a few lobbies today, (first three had nobody else above N7 50) but I happened upon a really good group a little bit ago. First Reaper Gold PUG I've played in a while that went to full extraction and didn't cost me lots of consumables. We only had two people go down to magnethands the entire match. I used 4 rockets and a single ops pack.

We played on Giant. Only two of us had mics, so I took the back side of the tower, and the other mic-user let me know when I needed to slide up to help. Clean and easy.

We had:
Krysae SI
Widow GI
Claymore Soldier (me)
GPS GE

Horrific games in terms of effiecieny and credits but a lot of fun to play with people that mainly act as decoys... however it is nice to have good games once in a while or it gets just annoying and I'm afraid that this weekened will get annoying... very soon...

Just came from a great bunch of randoms on Dagger. MQI, MQE, Justicar, and my kroguard. Full extraction, nobody got grabbed, and we didn't have to use that many missiles

It's hard to do Reapers on gold with randoms because they freak out when banshees show up and start to ignore the deadliest Reaper unit : Marauders...Most of them arent ready for gold

PUG, even though noone used their mics, we managed a full extraction
MY first time beating gold. AHH YEAH.

Most likely because they used their missiles on wave 4 or 5 when they saw couple banshees and brutes 50 meters away, freaking them out from seeing multiple banshees and brutes that early. I had two games where I was going against a couple banshees or brutes, taking them down easy just to seem them die instantly from a pointless rocket.

Happy to help anyone. First game was great, but tried a second and I was the only one using missiles and medigel. Ended up wasting them because got insta-killed by a banshee and no one else felt like using anything. Wouldn't want others to go through the same

I managed to get a success on the second try with a new pug. Definitely doable.. even if there're two not so great players in the game.

lol, I got completely lucky today. Full extraction on my first attempt on a public gold server. Lowest N7 ranking was about 690, and everybody seemed to know what they were doing. Wave 10 was pretty dicey, it came down to me and one other guy, both of us salarian infiltrators. We were both out of rockets, we picked off everything but the last two banshees, then I got magnet grabbed by one immediately after killing the other (from an annoying distance.) It took him a while to kill the last one solo (it went up and hid in one of the second story spawn points on firebase ghost while its barriers regenerated), but then wave 11 was a breeze.

I have had the exact same problem, i keep telling people to use their rockets @ wave 10, bu they are just not wanting to listen at all...
Thusfar 5 games, and every single game i am the only one using rockets when things look bad.

Just finally got a partial extraction. Had to use infiltrator with Maxed Reegar/Warp rounds and most of my items, but I got it.

happened to me yesterday on 2 gold matches...
teammates ran out of missiles before wave 8, or where snatched by banshees.
and I'm not good enough to duo or solo above wave 7

Guess I've been pretty lucky so far. Done 3 random reaper gold matches so far, all very successful. Didn't need to use many resources aside from a few missiles on wave 10 hack objectives, though that was just to make it easier and quicker than having someone kite around the banshees.

had 5 PUG matches with reapers, 2 partial, 3 full, used GI+Krysea, warp ammo, game was without sound for some reason, but everyone worked as a team, on weekend gonna play few more

We were on Condor (I hate Condor) and she had just started her screaming while she was out of melee range...and I was allready running. Sure enough, my player starts moonwalking...

Pick Up Game. I'm fairly certain a majority of BSN doesn't actually know what it means but still toss the word around to describe every match they play... The term describes a match that was semi-organized but with no guarantee of teammates, usually set up through an out-of-game channel. It might sound like a draft, and that's not too far off. The potential player pool cannot be "randoms," though you needn't know any of them either. Likewise, playing only with friends would also not qualify as a PUG since that goes beyond semi-organized. Basically, one joins a roster of players who knowingly advertise their availibility to play matches by being on said roster. IMO, joining a guild (in an MMO) is implicitly joining a PUG roster whereas a joining a clan (FPS or otherwise) does not necessarily imply a PUG roster. Matches set up through IRC on PC are very often PUGs, but that was never my scene.

The best example of a real PUG in ME3 would be joining a group based in this forum and starting a game with its members. Similarly, this thread is spitballing the potential for a PUG since people are sharing their Origin IDs for the OP to pay with them.
