It had to be, i know how to play the game. I use the right gear with the right class and i have a lvl 20 in every class. The minute i get in i get kicked because my N7 is 106.

I got kicked last night in sliver because of my N7 and when i searched for a new game it put me with the people that kicked me and i came in 2nd and the 3rd and 4th place people were 30k below my score.

The minimum N7 to have level 20 in each class is 120.  Something is wrong here.

I got lucky and ended up in a group of all Adepts. One Drell, Two Asari Adepts, and one Justicar. Needless to say explosions galore. We should have had a full extraction, but one guy got magnet hands by a Banshee with about six seconds left till extraction. Oh well, at least we accomplished the squad goal.

Well, I've completed Gold a couple times today. I was using a Drell and had a Just, AA, and a CVag.

The team was awesome. It helped to have a drell around. If you have a team mate comfortable with using one, it helps a lot. It also helps if the team selects the right gear. The Gold matches I failed were more or less per-destined due to the weapon choice, class choice, and gear choice (lack there of). A lot of greedy or lazy players will use a class that isn't as capable against Reapers.

If you enter a lobby and it isn't biotic heavy. You may not be completing the mission.

I've been hosting random games, and it's been basically fine.

I'd never played Gold before today - got dropped into two before, one of which I stuck with from waves 2-7 - but I created games, decent people joined, we communicated a bit, lost a few rounds, but we extracted on two of the four Broadside games, including one full extraction. Lots of healing, lots of missiles, lots of biotic explosions, had a lot of fun, and amazed myself by constantly turning up first or second on the leaderboard.

You don't need to be brilliant, or need to win every time. The game's not about constantly winning, nothing exciting about winning each time; it's about pulling through, getting into tight corners and pummelling your way out, victorious. I spent my first winning match (my first ever Gold extraction - big day!!) as an asari adept, blowing up a Justicar's reave. Vorcha sentinel kicking about, and I think a quarian infiltrator too? Great match. A few terrifying moments, but we hung on, without wasting many consumables, and got most of the team extracted to boot. Great fun. Loved it. Having a lot of fun with the random games. Not everyone's brilliant - my brother had a game with a slightly iffy sniper - but everyone I encountered was pulling their weight and trying their hardest. Good fun.

Now back to Silver for the allied goal.

I've been playing PUGs a lot today. A couple of tips:
-Be the one killing the infantry units. An example can be if your team is holed up by a couple of Banshees, take out the Marauders, Ravagers, Brutes and other non- Banshee units. Your team should have no problem running from 2 enemies that are only dangerous up close. Most randoms aren't on this forum, so their knowledge on wave budget and spawns is often limited.

- If they all get grabbed every wave, you haven't selected a good enough lobby. Move on and start a new game when you wipe. The problem with randoms is that you know nothing about their "personality". Nothing infuriates me more than seeing a player capable of holding his own refusing to use consumables when things are tough. These players will get an instakick when we finish, regardless of success. I'll take an N7 40 with a Carnifex 1 who helps his team over the aforementioned player type any day of the week. In fact, I had a game like that today. An N7 55 or something joined the lobby and players started to kick him. He proceeded to change to a suitable class, and tell us that he'll hold his own if we would let him join. I didn't kick him, and we started the game. He got the 15 revives medal, and saved the asses of the players that tried to kick him in the lobby numerous times. After we got the full extraction , the other guys left.

- Don't be a dick. It's as simple as that. Constructive critisism>raging.

Definately the bolded section above. Biotics are definately going to be key this weekend.

Came expecting terrible players who've never played Gold.

Found one of the best Reaper games I've played. Reapers are always more... hectic than the other factions. Geth may be broken, and Phantoms may be Phantoms, but Reapers require fast thinking to deal with. Yet we got a full extraction in 25 minutes. Hardly any downs, no use of medigel to my knowledge, a few instakills, but nothing major, I didn't even go down once myself, though that may have had more to do with my class (Quarian Engineer) than anything else.

Liberal use of missiles Wave 10+ too. May have had something to do with it. Generally it's usually just me and maybe one other player that actually bothers to use up all their missiles.

Today's pug on gold is terrible. I ended up doing a FBWGG-style game. I can't believe we extracted.

Just got off a couple of successful golds. Reapers On ghost is pretty easy. Though you will be seeing alot of bronze/silver players on gold for their 1st this weekend. Side note, been seeing alot of krogan solders today and low n7s. Take that for what you will.

Same thing happened to me. I was suprised myself we extracted. IMO the only reason we did was because the banshees kept teleporting to one guy who was behind cover outside and they kept getting kinda stuck there trying to melee him to no avail.

I guess I got lucky too, got in a team with 2 excellent players (with N7 levels below 500), 1 was a Novaguard, the other a Phoenix Adept. after a few matches I decided to increase their potential and my own and switched to my offensive Asari Justicar, and after that things went quite smoothly, reaving the crap out of anything. I had approximately 10 matches in a row with the same 2 players (and a random 3rd one), and 9 of them were Full Extractions, on Gold...

Reapers/Random it was!

The only problem I had with my Gold run was completion time (30m eww.) I didn't find it difficult at all. I really want to play Platinum.

One game was ok, ran smooth and ended with full extraction on Hydra. Second, not so much, carried randoms until the wave 7, got instakilled by banshee and others wiped. Nobody used rockets or medi-gel and bled out.

Successful first run, Dagger/Reaper/Gold with a BSN friend and 2 randoms. Lucky because Dagger is my fave map. Now back to Silver...which can sometimes be harder than Gold with randoms :(
Given the quality of the randoms in Silver these days, I don't missile/medigel if no one else is using their consumables. I think they expect the top scorer (me) to carry the game when they die.

Hooked up with one group from here, including a guy who'd said he'd help people get there and two others, one of whom was N7 38. We kicked ass. He ran a justicar, I did a phoenix vanguard, we had a human adept, and... ****, I can't remember the 4th at all. We camped in that tiny room on glacier and just detonated the **** out of banshees and brutes as they entered that bubble. I smashed through walls. Fun times.

Did another right after trying to help a buddy of mine, but he DCed mid-match, so I was stuck with 3 randoms. One was good, the one that'd started with us wasn't great, but he wasn't really a problem either. The third random that came in half way through was kind of awful.

Still, made fully extraction twice tonight. Now I'm bumping it down to silver (unless more friends need help) for most of the weekend, work towards that 400k.

Random PUG all making it to wave 10 doesn't sound like a nightmare.

Exactly this. I was going to say, if you're finding pick-up games with players that are consistently getting to wave 10 on gold, then you've got nothing to complain about lol. Typically, you're lucky to get past wave 5 or 6.

Did 2 more PUG just now....Total of 8 so far...
So far it has been peachy....

8 random PUGs
2 dead on wave 9 - Firebase Dagger, Firebase White (I'm stunned we actually reached this far during the game...Had a krogan sentinel who constantly tried to melee 2 Banshees?!?!?!?!...)
1 Lone survivor (me) - Ghost
1 (nobody in circle but 2 people still on their feet - Does this count as an extraction?) - Hydra
3 Full extractions - 2 Giant, 1 White
1 Partial extraction - Giant.

No game took longer than 25 minutes either....Best gold runs I've had in a long while...
Dagger and Giant are your best bets and make sure everybody has warp ammo....

Sorry I'm on the wrong platform or I would be more than happy to use my 255 cobra missiles in aid of you :o

My pro tip for operation:
2-3 biotics hat work together for biotic explosions
1-2 infiltrators based on cloak duration to revive teammates

People have to be in the circle for it to count as an extraction.

Then to note .... So you did the thing for the commendation pack (squad goal) 5 times and the victory pack (allied goal) 3 times? ...... Way to go 3/5ths of your extractions helped the allied effort.

Managed to pull off a 3/4th full extraction just a few minutes ago against the Reapers. It's amazing what kiting Banshees and Brutes can do for your team when you're at a wave 10 hacking situation. Makes the round go so much easier....and less missile chucking.

The poor sod that didn't make it was a Drell Vanguard that was waiting at the extraction zone the whole time. Didn't have a chance.

I managed a partial, but I'm irritated about it. I was killed at the last second. More frustrating was that I was carried through the match, and I knew it. X(

One piece of advice I can give is stick to what's familiar. If you're not used to using the claymore, then don't, no matter how powerful it is.

So, dumb questions here, but how do you know you're ready for gold? Or can atleast have a good feeling about it? Especially in terms of weapon levels?

Normally it's fine, but because of the op, everyone is going to try gold. I saw a guy with a level 4 character and N7 rating... 7... trying to host a Reaper Gold match. No equipment, nothing. Unless you're lucky, premade, or can solo gold then there is no point.
